Abstract

Breastmilk is the only perfect and best food for babies because it contains the nutritional elements needed by babies for optimal growth and development. Although the rate of exclusive breastfeeding in the Pringsewu Regency has increased from year to year, support for community participation and empowerment in health development has not been optimal. One solution that can help overcome barriers to exclusive breastfeeding is hypnobreastfeeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of hypnobreastfeeding on the motivation of breastfeeding in the Pringsewu Regency in 2019. This research is a quasi-experimental research with pre-post-test design with a control group design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a sample size of 48 pregnant women from term to breastfeeding. Data analysis was done by using the Independent Two Mean Difference test (T-Test) using the Paired Sample Test. The results of the study on the Paired Sample Test showed a significant value (p) of 0.004, meaning that there was a significant difference in the motivation of breastfeeding before and after hypnobreastfeeding. Midwives always provide hypnobreastfeeding therapy and lactation education to help increase motivation for breastfeeding as part of efforts to increase exclusive breastfeeding and breastfeeding for up to 2 years or more. For other researchers, it is necessary to carry out further research with other variables that can affect the motivation of breastfeeding.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) prevention can be done by eradicating Aedes aegypti larvae. One way to control larvae is by using larvicide biological or chemical. One type of larvicide that can be used is Calcium Hypochlorite (chlorine) as a substitute for S-Methoprene. The research objective was to determine the effectiveness of chlorine against the mortality of Aedes Aegyptus larvae. This study was an experimental study using three repetitions, the chlorine used consisted of doses of 1,0mg/l, 2,0mg/l, 3,0mg/l, 4,0mg/l, and 5,0mg/l which is applied with 1 liter of water that has been filled with 10 pcs of 3rd instar larvae. Data analysis used a completely randomized design by looking at the percentage of larval mortality within 15 minutes. The data on the number of deaths obtained were analyzed using the Anova test. Statistical results show that there is a difference in the number of deaths of Aedes aegypti larvae from each dose. The most effective dose of chlorine is 5,0mg/l. In conclusion, the more chlorine dose, the faster it will kill the larvae of Aedes aegypti larvae.

Abstract

As a breakthrough in accelerating the reduction in maternal mortality rates, the government since 2007 has launched a Maternity Planning and Prevention Complications Program (P4K). One effort to increase knowledge is health promotion with a community empowerment strategy. This study aimed to determine the effect of empowering cadres on the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women about P4K. The study design used a quasi-experimental design by pre and post-test with control group design. The study population was all pregnant women, the sample was pregnant women who were selected purposively consisted of 60 people, 30 people in the intervention group, and 30 control groups. To analyze the data, the researcher used a paired t-test and independent t-test. The results showed that in the intervention group there was an increase of knowledge score (70,67) for before and (92,50) for after cadres empowerment, while in the control group there was no difference in the average knowledge score (74,67) before and (71,00) after an intervention (p-value 0,351). Moreover, In the intervention group, there was an increase in the attitude score of pregnant women before (78.67) and after (86.12) cadres empowerment, but in the control group there was no difference in the average attitude score before (77,46) and after (77,67) intervention (p-value=0,524). Empowering cadres can increase the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women about P4K. It is hoped that the Health Office will further improve the implementation of P4K on an ongoing basis through the active role of the community, especially cadres.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic malnutrition problem caused by inadequate nutritional intake for a long time, resulting in growth disorders in children that is height is lower than the standard age. The physical growth of children is greatly influenced by nutritional intake and activity in children. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in sleep duration and food intake on the incidence of stunting in elementary school children. This was an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design. This research was conducted in Kecamatan Tampan Sidomulyo Timur in February-August 2019. The sample of this study was 90 elementary school children who met the inclusion criteria. The independent variables in this study were sleep duration, food intake and the dependent variable was stunting. The data collection consists of weighing, height measurement, food recall 2x24 hours to determine the level of food consumption, and interviews by filling out a modified Children's Sleep Habit Questioner (CSHQ) questionnaire. Data analysis used an independent t-test and Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that there was no difference in sleep duration between stunting and non-stunting children (p-value=0,954) and there was a difference in energy and protein intake between stunted and non-stunting children (p-value=0,004 and p-value=0,036). Children who have inadequate protein and energy have a greater risk of stunting. Further researchers need to test the difference in sleep duration between stunted and non-stunted children.
