Abstract

Lapindo mud is a type mud classified as extremely unique because it is so quick to settle. The aims of this research was to determine the level of mud viscosity and flow rate in order to increase the disposal capacity in Porong River. The research was conducted in a laboratory soil mechanics and hydraulics ITN of Malang. The type mud is a type of sandy loam with specific gravity of 2.68 gr/cm3; average grain diameter of 0.0153 mm; 139.07 m wide river bed, 4.31 m/s maximum flow rate and 6.94 m/s minimum in which were difficult to move sediment so an effort was required for flushing, so that the tractive force that occurred (τ0) was 0.0183 kg/m2 < allowed from the allowable tension = 0.46 pon/feet2 or = 0.057 kg/m2. The result of this research was the addition of 2% chemicals (HCl) could help to reagent so as to break the clumping (flock) to the sedimentation process could be slowed down and distance of precipitation could be lengthened. Lapindo mud has quickly settled nature, due to molecular cohesion having dilatants nature meaning that it required high enough power to do the movements stirring the mud. Mud would have high viscosity (up) when performed with a large shearing force tension that causes turbulent mud moving. Nevertheless, there was no fast precipitation happen or deposition time was extended to Lapindo mud

Abstract

One of potentially husbandry sector and developed are yellow meal worm or hongkong yellow mealworm. This animal could eat many kind of agriculture waste, vegetable, or fruit. The research was done to evaluation the influence of vegetable waste and fruit waste taken from traditional market using different three formulation feed media effect on feed consumption (basicly on dry basis), weight gain, lenght of worm of 50 days, feed cost, and income over feed cost. The research used 6 treatments were P1 (vegetable waste + wheatbran), P2 (vegetable waste + feed media (54% wheatbran+46% cassava waste)), P3 (vegetable waste + feed formulation contains 20% crude protein), P4 (fruit waste + wheatbran), P2 (fruit waste + feed media (54% wheatbran+46% cassava waste)), P3 (fruit waste + feed formulation contains 20% crude protein). All treatments were repeated 4 times. Research method using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The results showed that treatment using wheatbran + cassava waste giving highest weight gain and IOFC. The using of the mixing wheatbran and cassava waste could increase weight gain and IOFC on all the using vegetable and fruit waste

Abstract

City of Malang have the number of Green Open Space (RTH) less adequate (0,2 %). From result of total comparison between RTH 171.571 m2 and total wide city region 147.138 km2. As for standard of RTH 5-10% wide of city region. The existing city forest include: (1) Jakarta Street for the area of 2.221 m2 in the area of Penanggungan village, sub -District of Klojen, (2) Forest of Malabar for the area of 16.718 m2 in Sub-District of Oro-Oro Dowo District of Klojen, (3) Garden of Velodrom for the areas of 12.500 m2 in Madyopuro village in Sub District of Kedungkandang. This research activity take about six month. Location of research is in forest town of Malabar Sub-District of Oro-Oro Dowo Sub District of Klojen with areas of 16.718 m2. Research result concluded that structure of city forest of Malabar have strata two because there were only consisting of grass and grove or other ground cover. City forest of Malabar have an good effect function of ecological aspect (76,5 %) with score average 4,52 and have an effect on good enough for the aspect of landscap 81,5% with score average 3,45

Abstract

Titanium diokside (TiO2) is widely used in chemical industries, especially in ceramics industries. It could be produced by destructing of the ilmenite mineral with sulfuric acid. The design process of destruction needs mathematical modeling which is similar to heterogeneous system that involves both mass transfer and chemical reaction simultaneously. The reaction between the ilmenite mineral and sulfuric acid was conducted in a stirred-batch reactor. The ilmenite mineral and sulfuric acid were mixed in the reactor then it was closed. The reactor was heated and stirred at a certain stirring rate until desired temperature was reached. Samples were withdrawn every 10 minutes. The variables studied were the reaction temperature in the tange of 383 K and 403 K and the rate of stirring in the range of 60 and 125 rpm. There were two proposes models. The first model was a shrinking-core mixed chemical-dynamic regime model. The second model was a shrinking-core chemical regime model. Based on the results, the first model was the suitable model of the two models proposed for describing the kinetics phenomena of the destruction of ilmenite mineral with sulfuric acid. From this model it was obtained that the value of reaction rate constant (kr) could be approached by the Arrhenius equation, as the following; kr = 8,59.1019.e-44578/(RT), in which R is the gas constant and T is the absolute temperature. It was obtained that the value of mass transfer coefficient was not significantly influenced by the rate of stirring

Abstract

Fisheries and lovebirdcommodity, and cosmetics causing mealworm become popular to find and having purpose as source cosmetics mixing and source of feed. Because of many source of feed in market, people or researcher should pay attention on nutrition need of each animal, energy and protein become principal references for production increasing. This research was done to know the influence of the using gross energy (GE) and crude protein (CP) combination and also looking for the best combinationthat giving good result on feed consumption and body weight gain of mealworm. This research used Factorial experiment in Completetely Randomized Design with 9 treatments were G1P1 (GE 4000 kkal/kg , CP 10%), G1P2 (GE 4000 kkal/kg , CP 12%), G1P3 (GE 4000 kkal/kg , CP 14%), G2P1 (GE 4500 kkal/kg , CP 10%), G2P2 (GE 4500 kkal/kg , CP 12%), G2P3 (GE 4500 kkal/kg, CP 14%), G3P1(GE 5000 kkal/kg,CP 10%) G3P2 (GE 5000 kkal/kg,CP 12%), G3P3 (GE 5000 kkal/kg,CP 14%).From the research can be concluded that the using of feed gross energy and crude protein combination doesn’t give significant effect e on feed consumption, body weight gain, feed convertion/FCR, and body length. 12% and 14% protein combination with 4500 and 5000 kkal/kg gross energy cousing highes mortality on mealworm live. It is suggested to use feed with maximum nutrition content 4500 kkal/kg GE and 12% protein for getting feed efficiency and looking for another source for changing oil as energy source.

Abstract

Various brands of formula milk offered by many companies make mothers having under five year old children difficult to make decision to buy formula milk. The purposes of this study were to analyze the simultaneous and partial effects of cultural, social, personal, psychological, product and price variables on buying decision of formula milk, and to analyze the variables having dominant influence on the purchasing decisions of formula milk at Malang City. This study was conducted at Lowokwaru, Kedungkandang, Blimbing, Sukun and Klojen Districts of Malang City from November to December 2012. The method used for this study was an explanatory survey method using questionnaires to collect data from 120 mothers having under five year old children consuming formula milk that were selected by an accidental sampling method. Data of respondents were measured using Likert Scale that ranged from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree). A multiple linear regression model was used to predict the effects of culture (X1), social (X2), personal (X3), psychological (X4), product (X5) and price (X6) variables on purchasing decision (Y). The results showed that the six variables simultaneously affected significantly the purchasing decision of formula milk at Malang City. The six variables contributed 83.5% of the variation in formula milk purchasing decision. Partially, cultural, social, personal, psychological, and product variables positively influenced the purchasing decisions of formula milk, while price variabels did not significantly influence the purchasing decision of formula milk. Cultural variable was the most dominant variable affecting purchasing decision of formula milk

Abstract

This research aimed to study the effect of Viterna Usage on woof performing production of the broilers finisher. Items witch used in the research were 80 broilers (female) strain Lohman with age 1 – 42 days. Attempt device that used is complete random device (CRD) that using 5 treatment with 4 restating water/day. Treatment description is P0 control; P1 use viterna 0,5 cc/l drinking water/day; P2 use viterna 1,0 cc/l drinking water/day; P3 use viterna 1,5 cc/l drinking water/day; P4 use viterna 2,0 cc/l drinking water/day. The result showed that the effect feed supplement (viterna) with different dose for each treatment do not give the performing production. Suggestion for further more research about influence of viterna usage to woof consume, body weight accretion and woof conversion at broiler with different dose have use woof mixture until viterna usage at broiler with different dose have use woof mixture until viterna usage more effective

Abstract

Tofu waste is a waste product from tofu processing which is known as high protein sources. Its use as feed has a problem due to the antinutrient content and lower amino acids. Effective microorganism (EM4) is a mixture of some microbes that are used to improve the quality of feed. Lactobacillus plantarum is facultative bacteria heterofermentatif group that has a high ability to ferment carbohydrates. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of both of these bacteria to ferment tofu waste and its influence on the increase in the content of nutrients and amino acids. This study used a Random Nested Design with 2 factor: Factor 1 was type of microbe (EM4 and Lactobacillus plantarum), factor 2 was the concentration of microbes which consists of 5 levels (1%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% , v / w), each treatments was repeated 3 times. The results showed that the average treatment gave very significant effect on dry matter, anorganic matter, crude fiber, crude protein and had significant effect on crude lipid and gross energy. The treatments of 20% concentration of Lactobacillus plantarum giving highest yield on gross energy, crude fiber, calcium and fosfor.

Dehydration to be run by heating castor oil and of natrium sulphate hydrogen at temperature, certain time is at the same time swirled and emited a stream of by carbon gas of dioxid. Abstract

One alternative to meet the needs of the market and the increasing availability of public interest will be the consumption of meat, it can be done by utilizing the potential of laying duck meat rejected. This study aims to determine the quality of the meat rejected by the use of a combination of pineapple and papaya extracts. The method used is an experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD). Soaking duck meat with the addition of a combination of salvage pineapple and papaya fruit extract that consists of 4 levels: 0% Pineapple: 0% Papaya, Pineapple 25%: 75% Papaya, Pineapple 50%: 50% and 75% Pineapple Papaya: Papaya 25%. Data were analyzed using Variant Analysis and continued with Duncan's multiple range test if there is a difference. The results showed a significant difference to the levels of protein, fat and meat tenderness (P0.05) rejects laying duck meat
