Abstract

Robusta coffee (Coffea canephora) is one of the commodities that have high economic value among other plantation crops. Coffee is also one of the three non-alcoholic beverages (coffee, tea, chocolate) are widespread. Indonesia and among the countries located in the international coffee world, because Indonesia is the third largest coffee exporter after Brazil and Vietnam. Coffee production in Indonesia reached an average of 11.250 tonnes per year. The purpose of this study is studying the ability of pyraclostrobin on coffee fertilization, thereby reducing the occurrence of fruit drop and determining the appropriate concentrations for spraying treatment pyraclostrobin on fertilization and reduce fruit drop robusta coffee. This study was conducted in January-September 2016 in the coffee plantation Tlogosari, Tirtoyudo subdistrict, Malang regency which is located at the altitude of 560 m above sea level. The method that used in this study is a randomized block design, consisting of 6 treatments and 4 replications. While the treatment is P0 (without spraying), P1 (Spraying once a week with a concentration of 150 ppm), P2 (Spraying once a week with a concentration of 300 ppm), P3 (Spraying once a week with a concentration of 450 ppm), P4 (Spraying once a week  with a concentration of 600 ppm), P5 (Spraying once a week with a concentration of 750 ppm). Giving pyraclostrobin with a concentration of 600 ppm may increase the amount of fruit compared to the treatment without giving pyraclostrobin.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of two commercial feed and feed the rational against the appearance of chicken. One hundred and twenty chickens unsexed placed randomly assigned to 3 treatment groups feed with four replications, each repeat of the three feed treatments, a commercial broiler starter feed (BR-I) production Japfa Comfeed Indonesia (P1), the commercial broiler starter feed (Br IA) Charoend production Pokphand Indonesia (P2), and a rational feed prepared with crude protein (CP) and metabolizable energy (ME) commercial feed (P3). Feed and water were given ad libitum. Data observed were feed intake, weight gain, feed conversion, protein consumption, balance efficiency of protein, and amino acid consumption. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance of a completely randomized design unidirectional pattern, if there are differences in test followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test. From the results of this study concluded that the two types of commercial diets produce feed intake and higher weight gain and feed conversion efficiency and balance of feed protein is better than rational

Abstract

Abstract Effects of low quality organic matter application at rates of 5, 10, and 15 t/ha on soil water content and yield of maize have been studied on a dry land area of Wonogiri. The organic matters used for this study were Acasia auriculiformis, Gigantochloa apus and Sacharum officinarum litters. Results of the study showed that application of organic matter at all rates significantly increased water content and decreased C/N ratio of the soil, but did not affect water holding capacity of the soil. These changes have in turn significantly affected leaf area index, growth rate, number seed per pod, weight of 100 seeds and maize harvesting index

Abstract

The aims of this study were to evaluate prototype biomass stove by using wood fuel (dry biomass), to account number of wood fuel used to boil water, time for boil, fire of temperature, water temperature, pan temperature, hot energy and water heating efficiency. Descriptive analysis was used to evaluate prototype biomass stove by using wood fuel about 1 kg with three replicates. The evaluation showed that by using wood fuel process water boiled faster than that using fuel. To make water boiled only needed 6 minutes using 93 g of wood fuel while fire temperature was 792°C . To boil water about 2 liter using stove biomass needed 6 minutes using total fuel of 92,87 g. Fire temperature observed was 792°C, where pan wall temperature was 256°C and water temperature was 105°C. Total heat energy used to boil water was: 7336,73 cal; 2507,49 cal and 1578,79 cal. Efficieny of water heat that was calculated from water boil process by using stove biomass was 38,5%. Prototype stove biomassa needed smaller hole out of fire to make flame not so high, and adding hole of wind in side of fuel tube to make air aeration better and to control equipment volume fuel

Abstract

The increase of population and the depletion of productive agricultural land causes the availability of rice as the staple food as carbohidrat becomes unbalanced. Efforts to reduce dependence on rice should be made, through the diversification of alternative food crops containing high carbohydrates. Pumpkin plants (waluh) is one of the crop that have high carbohydrate content and has many types. This research aims to collect various types of yellow squash varieties as the initial material in the assembling of superior varieties, and to identify vegetative character and agronomic character of yellow squash pumpkin varieties. The research was conducted in Randuagung Village, Lumajang Regency with height of 112 asl. The materials used in are local lumajang pumpkin seeds and local poor pumpkin. The results of this study indicate that the ratio of male flowers and female flowers on both varieties of local yellow squash showed the number of male flowers more than the number of female flowers. The beta-carotene content of local lumajang is lower than the local yellow squash is seen from the color of the pumpkin the yellow is getting faded and the taste is less sweet. The resistance to the disease of both varieties of local yellow squash indicates the tolerance criteria. The male juvenile blueberry male jungle flowers are faster than the local yellow squash lumajang, but the age of the local pumpkin flower lumajang is faster than the local yellow squash. The yellow local pumpum lumajang color is relatively the same that is brown, while the varieties of local yellow pumpkin there is a difference that is brown and green.
