Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of brown rice flour on crude protein, crude fiber, and organoleptic quality in turkey burgers. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with four trials and four replications. There were 16 experimental samples included: P1 (0% brown rice flour: 15% tapioca flour), P2 (5% brown rice flour: 10% tapioca flour), P3 (10% brown rice flour: 5% tapioca flour), and P4 (15% rice flour raw : 0% tapioca flour). Parameters observed included protein content, crude fiber content, and organoleptic tests consisting of color, taste, aroma, and texture. The result showed that the higher the level of substitution of tapioca with brown rice flour, the redder the color of the turkey meat burger, and the higher the panelist's preference for the color of the turkey meat burger. However, as the level of substitution of brown rice flour with wheat flour increased, the panelists' preference for the taste of turkey burgers decreased. The best treatment based on organoleptic tests was found in burgers with a substitution level of 10% brown rice flour: and 5% tapioca flour, with an average protein content of 19.34% and crude fiber content of 13.50%.

Abstract

Citrus fruit is one of the most popular types of fruit by people in Indonesia, citrus fruit is a fruit that is always available throughout the year because citrus plants do not know a special flowering season. The purpose of this study was to determine the market segmentation of local tangerines in Malang City based on a SWOT analysis. The determination of the area is carried out purposively or intentionally at the Blimbing Market, Malang City, based on the consideration that this area is an area that has various marketing locations, ranging from traditional markets to modern markets (supermarkets) and between the two marketing places there is no very significant quantitative difference. The method of collecting data is utilizing interviews, questionnaires, or questionnaires and observations, while the data analysis method used is descriptive quantitative-qualitative SWOT analysis. The result showed that ideal market segmentation after a SWOT analysis adapted to a matrix analysis of internal-external strategic factors for the marketing of local tangerines is the SO (strengths-opportunities) and WO (weaknesses - opportunities) strategies. The SO strategy is to maintain taste quality, increase production, increase supply to all fruit markets (outlets, fruit shops, traditional markets), and improve sales quality and marketing areas. The WO strategy is to improve the quality of production, improve packaging, expand market share, increase post-harvest anticipation, shorten marketing channels, and dominate market share.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of heating time duration on the organoleptic and physical quality of rabbit moringa bio supplement biscuits (BBCi). This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and six replications. The research treatments were the duration of time heating at a temperature of 100°C (P), namely P1= 45 minutes; P2= 60 minutes; P3 = 75 minutes; P4 = 90 minutes; P5 = 105 minutes. The research variables included an organoleptic test, density test, water absorption, and shatter test. The results showed that different heating times showed a highly significant effect (P0.01) on the density and shatter test of BBCi, while the variables of color, smell, texture, density, and water absorption showed no significant effect. (P0.05). The highest average density and shatter test (%) of BBCi were 3.50±0.55 (P4) and 86.04±6.65 (P5). Whereas the lowest average density and shatter test (%) of BBCi was shown in the P1 = 1.00±0.00 and 11.20±12.32. The conclusion was that the best BBCi density and shatter test values were found in the treatment with a duration heating time of 90 and 105 minutes.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the dose of crude protein in complete feed on feed intake, body weight gain (BWG), conversion, and feed efficiency in fattening BoerPE hybrid goats. The experimental method used a randomized design with three treatments and three groups. The treatment was 11% CP dose (T1), 13% CP dose (T2), and 15% CP dose (T3), and the BW group (Kg) G1 = 21.8; G2 = 28.4 and G3 = 31.7. Then the variance of data analysis and the Least Significant Difference Test (LSDT). The results showed that the dose of CP feed did not affect feed intake but was very significant for BWG, feed conversion, and feed efficiency. The BW group had a significant effect on feed intake and BWG, feed conversion, and feed efficiency. In the treatment, the average feed intake increased from 1.11 to 1.16 Kg/head/day; BWG increased from 96.55 to 132.22 g/head/day, feed conversion decreased from 11.52 to 8.77, and feed efficiency increased from 8.68 to 11.42; while, in the BW group, the average feed intake increased from 1109.17 to 1179.26; BWG increased by 107.77 to 123.68 g/head/day; feed conversion decreased from 10.42 to 9.66; feed efficiency increased from 9.72 to 10,49 (%). In conclusion, increasing the dose of crude protein in complete feed can increase body weight gain and feed efficiency, then the use of a 15% CP dose in optimal feed can increase BWG and feed efficiency.

Abstract

The research aims to obtain the concentration and immersion time to increase the essential oil content, growth, and yield of ginger plants. This research used a split-plot design, with the main plots of ginger varieties and subplots of colchicine immersion time. Parameters observed included stem morphology, leaf morphology, root morphology, rhizome morphology, and essential oil content. The research results show that the optimal immersion time of colchicine with a four ppm dose to increase productivity in the three varieties of ginger was 12 hours. Immersion of 16 hours would reduce the productivity of ginger plants. Immersion using colchicine for 12 hours on white ginger and small white ginger varieties was able to increase the essential oil content to 1.79% and 2.31%, and also increasing essential oil would optimize for red ginger with immersion time for 16 hours was become 2.75%.

Abstract

This study aimed to produce a recommendation to the public and the government related to efforts to deal with the problem of the visual aesthetic quality of the landscape, especially in the garden landscape. The garden landscape is necessary to evaluate visual quality using assessment methods, namely Scenic Beauty Estimation (SBE). The methods produce low, medium, and high visual aesthetic quality categories where the relationship between them supports or does not support each other. The result showed dominant results are mutually supportive or appropriate on high-value playground areas and low-value soccer fields. The Welcome Area, Rest Area, and Infiltration Area have result that does not support each other with different quality values for each photo. Recommendations in this area are adjusted to the results of the assessment based on each method in the form of design concept recommendations that lead to the SBE method.
