Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of biourin on the growth and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays Saccharata Sturt). This research was conducted at the Bengkulu Agricultural Instrument Standards Implementation Center (BPSIP). This research was carried out using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with four treatments of biourin liquid organic fertilizer. P0: Control (NPK fertilizer), P1: 50 ml/l water, P2: 100 ml/l water, P3: 150 ml/l water each treatment was repeated seven times.  The results of this study showed that the provision of goat biourin had no significant effect on the parameters of plant height (14 and 28 hst), the number of leaves (14, 28, and 42 hst), stem diameter (14, 28 and 42 hst), cob length, cob length without cob, the diameter of the cob with weighed cob, the diameter of the cob without weighed cob, crown wet weight, crown dry weight, root wet weight, root dry weight and which significantly influenced the parameters of plant height (42 hst), weight of the cob with weighed cob, and weight of the cob without weighed cob.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the impact of dietary teak leaf powder on the egg color and productivity of laying hens. A total of 240 30-week-old laying hens were divided into six treatments, each of which had four replications (10 birds each). The treatments used control were AV (0.05% antibiotic virginiamycin) and (no feed additive), P1: 0.4% teak leaves powder, P2: 0.8% teak leaves powder, P3: 1.2% teak leaves powder, and P4: 1.6% teak leaves powder. The result indicated that the treatments had a highly significant (P0.01) impact on hen day productivity (HDP), egg mass, and feed conversion ratio (FCR) but had no effect (P0.05) on feed intake, egg weight, or yolk color. When AV was used instead of the control, HDP, egg mass, and FCR improved (P0.01). The treatment P2, P3, and P4 had a better HDP, egg mass, and FCR (P0.01) than the control. Laying hens fed AV had a higher HDP (P0.01) than those fed teak leaves powder (P1, P2, P3, and P4), however, the use of P3 and P4 had equal results as AV in terms of egg mass and FCR. The teak leaves powder at the level of 1.2% is effective in substituting commercial antibiotics.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the addition of chicken manure trichocompost to increase the growth of pakcoy. This study used a completely randomized design with 5 levels of trichocompost fertilizer treatment, namely without trichocompost fertilizer (Control), 40 grams, 60 grams, 80 grams, and 100 grams. The results showed that the application of chicken manure trichocompost 100 grams was the treatment that gave the best results on the growth of pakcoy plants for the parameters of the average number of leaves (15.6 leaves), leaf area (41.04 cm2), crown wet weight (52.64 grams) and roots (2, 52 grams), dry weight of shoots (2.00 grams) and roots (0.25 grams), and leaf coarse fiber content (1.51%).

Abstract

Physiological data on Nypa palm worm hemocytes can be used as a standard reference for healthy Nypa palm worms and the basis for preventive measures and treatment of diseases in cultivation activities because hemocytes have an important function in regulating the physiology of the body. The hematological profile of the Nypa palm worm (Namalycastis rhodochorde) includes total hemocytes, hemocyte diameter, hemoglobin, and blood viscosity. The research was conducted to determine the hematological condition of nypa palm worms. The study used the calculation room method in the examination of total hemocytes, the manufacture of smear preparations looked at the appearance of hemocyte morphology, and the use of the Sahli thermometer device for hemoglobin examination and viscometer for viscosity examination. The results showed that the average number of total hemocytes of Nypa palm worms was 1.79 x106 cells / L the diameter of hemocytes had an average of 5.17μm, hemoglobin had an average value of 5.60 g / dl, and an average viscosity measurement of 3.25 N.s / m3. The hemocyte profile of the Nypa palm worm shows its correlation, the total number of hemocytes, hemoglobin, and blood viscosity of the Nypa palm worm. However, there is no relationship between the size of the diameter of the blood hemocytes of the Nypa palm worm and the parameters of the total number of hemocytes, hemoglobin, and blood viscosity.

Abstract

The aimed of this study was to obtain lactic acid bacteria in civet feces used for the coffee fermentation process. This research was carried out isolation and screening of microbes specifically for proteolytic lactic acid bacteria. The bacterial isolation process using a selective MRS (Man Ragosa Sharpe) Agar medium and a bacterial screening process using Skim Milk Agar medium added with CaCO3. The results showed that 3 of the 12 isolated bacterial isolates could produce acid and protease: BAL 05, BAL 08, and BAL 09.

Abstract

The one pest that can potentially cause harm to fruit cultivation is fruit flies (Bactrocera spp). The fruit flies cause losses in qualitative and quantitative terms in Indonesia and are classified as Bactrocera. It is necessary to identify the diversity of fruit flies in Science Techno Park ( STP) University of Tribhuwana Tunggadewi and handle them. This research aimed to determine the types of fruit flies and how to handle them. The method used in this research is a systematic sampling method, by taking 1 sample at each point of the bottle trap is given an attractant. The results showed that there are found three species of fruit flies at the STP location. The three species of fruit flies found in the STP are Bactrocera dorsalis, Bactrocera carambola, and Bactrocera umbrosa. B. dorsalis has the highest abundance with 82.7%, followed by B. carambola at 16.3%, and the lowest is B. umbrosa at 0.8%. The highest dominance of the fruit fly species in the STP was B. dorsalis value D 0.82.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the relationship between the subsidized fertilizer distribution mechanism and the success of farmers in adopting fertilization technology. This study used a descriptive method approach—data retrieval techniques using interviews, documentation, and observation. The mechanism for distributing subsidized fertilizers in Purwoasri Village, Singosari District  According to the results of the recapitulation of the subsidy fertilizer distribution mechanism, researchers explained that the distribution mechanism and technology adoption with the following percentages: subsidized fertilizer distribution mechanism 74%, the role of agricultural extension workers 76%, the role of farmer groups 79%, meaning that the distribution mechanism has been successfully carried out well, such as extension workers helping and guiding farmers in the preparation of RDKK (Plan Definitive Group Needs). Meanwhile, the adoption of 70% fertilization technology means that extension workers and farmers complement each other and work together to achieve the success of farmers in the successful adoption of fertilization technology in Purwoasri Village.
