Abstract

A study on the influence of organic acids and AMF application to availability of P before planting and after harvesting, as well as contribution to P absorption by Leek plant had been done. The treatments consisted of 2 combinations. There were 8 treatments for the first factor, i.e. control, oxalic acid (Ao), C2H2O4.2H2O (0,01 % and 0,02 %), citric acid (As), C6H8O7.H2O 0,01 % and 0,02 %), mix of Ao 0,01 % + As 0,01 %, Ao 0,02 % + As 0,02 %, and inoculation of AMF A.tuberculata. Treatments of the second factor were P-fertilizer and no P-fertilizer. The experiment was arranged in fully randomized design (FRD) with 3 replicates. Results of the study showed that application of organic acids at soil having high potency to P adsorption increased P availability before planting, but AMF inoculation did not give any effect. After harvesting, availability of P was lower than that of the control, nevertheless the treatment of AMF inoculation gave stabile availability of P. Organic acids did not contribute to plant in efficiency of P absorption, moreover at the mix of oxalic acid and citric acid to lower in efficiency

Abstract

Durian (Durio zibethinus Murr.) has a great sale value, beside its delicious flavor; it also contains variety of nutrients such as Vitamins B, C, E and Iron that are beneficial for human health. The main problems in improving the local durian is limited availability of quality seeds. Durian development undertaken by local farmers generally from generative, thereby causing the vegetative phase takes longer (about 7-10 years) and make generative phase come later. It is one of the obstacles in the productivity and quality of durian. It is one of the obstacles in the productivity and quality of durian. But with advances in technology, these obstacles can be overcome by using a mini-graft method to produce superior durian seedling. The purposes of this research are to get the right age and precentage of shade on grafted durian seedling and to determine the influence on growth and yield of grafted plants. This research conducted on january – oktober 2016 on Durio Kingdom Farm, Ngantang, Malang Regency on 660 asl. The experiment was conducted using split plot design. The main plot is percentage shade (N): shade 0%, shade 40%, shade 60% and shade 80%, while the subplots are seedlings (A) is 15 weeks age rootstock, 17 weeks age rootstock and 19 weeks age rootstock. The results of this study showed that 17 weeks Age seeds give better results, shade are gives better results for use in plant nurseries durian is shade with a density of 40%.

Abstract

An experiment had been carried out to study the potential of alley cropping system for rehabilitation of eroded soil. The experiment was carried out on Vertisols at Ngrimbi, Jombang, East Java. The results showed that planting Gliricidia as an hedgerow crop in an alley cropping system improved the properties and fertility of eroded Vertisols. After 10 years of the practice, there was an increase in soil organic-C, soil N, Soil-P, and soil-K. As a result of increasing soil organic-C, there was an improvement of soil aggregation, water holding capacity, and available soil water. Improvement of soil fertility with alley cropping resulted in an increase of maize and soybean yields. The yields of maize and soybean in a non alley cropping system, on the other hand, constantly decreased with time

Abstract

A study that was aimed to analyze the potency of surface water for water resource development of the Gresik Regency was conducted by analyzing available rainfall and water discharge data. Results of this study showed the occurrence of water potency deficit and water shortage. Discharge of water from river flowing through the Gresik Regency did not originally come from excessive rainfall but it came from sea water flowing into the river at certain months, and from upstream and midstream discharges of Bengawan Solo river. Climate affected conditions of water resource potency which its main source is rainfall. Hence water supply could not be relied only from rainfall. The existing surface water can only provide 50% of the water need of the Gresik Regency for domestic uses and other 50% for industrial purposes. The remaining water need should be sought from other sourves such as drilling well, small basins and lakes
