Abstract

The use of manipulative display tool is able to draw the interest of the students and, at the same time, motivate them to pay attention to the learning process. The manipulative display tool itself may serve as an aid to deliver or to explain the mathematical concepts correctly. In addition to the problem, and specific to the context of the study, the problem-solving capacity of the students in SD Negeri Banjarsari the District of Ajibarang the Regecy of Banyumas is still low. The study aims to identify the effectiveness of the manipulative display tool assisted-stay at home learning against problem-solving skills of the students. In conducting the study, the method that has been implemented is the mixed method. The study used the sequential explanatory design using the sequential combination of the quantitative and the qualitative research method. The number of the subjects in the study consist of 88 respondents. The quantitative samples for the study are gathered through the cluster random sampling technique while the qualitative samples for the study are gathered through the purposive sampling technique. Furthermore, the data gathering method that has been used in the study consists of test, questionnaire, interview, and documentation. After the data have been gathered, the data are analysed by using the independent sample t-test and the N-gain test. Based on the results of the study, it is found that there have been differences on the mathematical problem-solving learning results between the students in the experimental group and the control group with the significance value .000 < 0.05. in addition, it is also found that the pre-test and the post-test results of the experimental group have increased namely 0.59 and 0.38 as these results belong to the moderate category. Hence, these findings show that the improvement on the learning results has been influenced by the effective of the manipulative display tool-assisted stay at home learning and the open-ended questions.

Abstract

Entering the 21st century, students are expected to have the ability to understand information and apply various critical and creative thinking techniques when reading, writing, and solving problems. One of the policies carried out by the Semarang city administration is the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) and optimizing mobile libraries as a central facility. This study aims to analyze the school's strategy in increasing the Reading Literacy Habituation and Development stage to increase students' reading interest and to analyze the teacher's influence on students in the Reading Literacy Habituation and Development stage to increase students' reading interest in class II at SDN Pudakpayung 01 Semarang. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews with class II principals and teachers, grade II students, observation, and documentation. From the results of observing the constraints on the stage of reading literacy comprehension in elementary schools at SDN Pudakpayung 01 Semarang City, that is, most of the students who are still in class II feel lazy to read is still quite high. Meanwhile, even in high grades, there are still many students who are less motivated to read or write. Reading literacy is not just talking 5 about 15 minutes of reading a book. Reading interest literacy is not only influenced by internal factors in school, students' reading interest is also influenced by external factors, namely parents.

Abstract

Science learning is an educational activity that emphasizes the development of students' abilities and skills in learning. One crucial skill that students need to master in the learning process is science process skills. Science process skills enable students to independently discover concepts from various learning sources through exercises conducted during the learning process. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the guided inquiry model with the MURDER strategy in improving students' scientific process skills. The method used in this study was quasi-experimental. The sample consisted of fifth-grade students from SDN 262 Panyileukan, Bandung City with 50 students in the experimental group and 50 students in the control group. The research results showed that the average post-test score obtained by the experimental group was 84.45, which was higher compared to the control group's score of 72.71. Additionally, the n-gain test results for the experimental group yielded a score of 0.58, while the control group had a score of 0.31. In conclusion, the guided inquiry model with the MURDER strategy was effective in improving students' science process skills.

Abstract

The problem that SDN Bacem 01 Blora facing is the lack of local wisdom-based learning media and students’ poor writing skill. This research aimed to develop 2D animation video based on Blora’s Local Knowledege as a learning media to improve 5th grade students’ ability in writing imaginative text. This research was using Research and Development Method (R&D) with ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develoment, Implementation, and Evaluation) as the development procedures. The sample of this research was 5th grade students’ of SDN Bacem 01 Blora and SDN Bacem 02 Blora. Questionnaires consisted of media expert, materials expert, teachers’ response, observers’ response, and students’ response were the tools to obtain the data needed. The results of this research gained 93% of media expert, 96% of materials expert, 87% of teachers’ response, 89% of observers’ response, and 82% of students’ response. In conclusion, 2D animation video-based media development was feasible to be utilized to improve students’ ability in writing imaginative text based on Blora’s local wisdom.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of implementing the results of digital comic development in improving the information technology literacy skill of fourth grade elementary school students. This study used RnD method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). The research subject was fourth grade students at Kuranji State Elementary School, Cirebon City. Furthermore, the data collection technique was the media expert, linguist, material expert validation questionnaire, test techniques and student responses. Aiken's validity results show the lowest index results from media experts, language experts and material experts of 0.67 and the highest index is 1. Furthermore, the results show that the student test instrument variables are declared reliable based on Cronbach's Alpha reliability calculations that is 0.937 with very high criteria. The Pearson Product Moment correlation coefficient value between the implementation of digital comic development results and students' information technology literacy skills is 0.693. Digital comics affect students' technological literacy skills 48.0%. Moreover, the average percentage of student responses to the implementation of digital comic development in energy sources science learning materials for class IV elementary schools is 94.4% with very high criteria. Digital comic media is feasible, and it has a significant effect on increasing the information technology literacy skills of fourth grade elementary school students.

Abstract

The Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) is focusing on measuring students’ thinking and reasoning ability, one of which is reading literacy competence. The aims of this research are: 1) Developing character-based picture storybooks in Bahasa Indonesia subject in preparing for AKM; 2) Describing the characteristics of character-based picture storybooks media in preparing for AKM; 3) Examining the feasibility of character-based picture storybooks media in preparing for AKM; 4) Examining the effectiveness of character-based picture storybooks media of Bahasa Indonesia subject in improving elementary school 1st grade students’ reading literacy. The type of this research is Research and Development (R&D) with ADDIE model modified by Branch as the development model. The sample of this research are elementary school 1st grade students, with 30 students as the experimental group and 28 students as the control group. The finding of this research shows that character-based picture storybooks are very feasible to be used with a percentage of 93.3% of media feasibility criteria and 85% of material and language feasibility criteria. Based on the results, t-test value is 0.006 < 0.05 meaning that character-based picture storybooks are effective. The mean improvement using the n-gain test shows that the experimental group has the higher increase, obtaining an n-gain of 0.686 with medium category while the lower increase is found in control group with 0.449 in medium category. Thus, it can be concluded that character-based picture storybooks are effective to be used in Bahasa Indonesia subject to improve elementary school 1st grade students’ reading literacy capability.

Abstract

Science learning that takes place in elementary schools is still teacher-centered,it can be seen that the teacher's ability to design learning and the use of learning media is still less interactive and less practical so that learning is monotonous, has not used models or media in science learning. The purpose of the study analyzes the validity, the effectiveness of collaboration of interactive learning media and interactive student woorksheets with problem-based learning models on mastery of concepts and student creativity. This research is development research (Four-D Models) with stages of defining, design, develop and disseminate. Data collection methods are questionnaires, tests and interviews.This research was conducted in grade V SD Negeri 2 Plantaran SouthKaliwungu District, Kendal Regency. The results showed that the development of learning media to foster student creativity was very valid with a percentage of interactive learning media validation score of 98.33%; Analysis of student responses 65.21%. The effectiveness of the product shows that there is an increase in learning outcomes and student creativity increases with good criteria. The benefits of research results make it easier for students to understand the material provided by the teacher so that student learning outcomes increase. The conclusion of this research is that collaboration in the development of interactive learning media and interactive student worksheets with a problem-based learning model can improve learning outcomes and foster the creativity ofelementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to improve numeracy skills through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by differentiated concrete media to grade 1 student at SDN Sampangan 01 Semarang. The method used is Miles and Huberman's (1994: 12) interactive analysis method which includes three activities, namely (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, and (3) verification, in presenting data using qualitative and quantitative data. Based on the results of research and discussion it is known that students' numeracy skills have increased by up to 82%. So, it can be concluded that the application of the PBL model with the help of differentiated concrete media can improve the numeracy skills of subtraction material in grade 1 students, because with the help of differentiated concrete media students can learn in real terms and are more interested in participating in learning.

Abstract

Pendidikan sebagai jenjang lanjutan tanpa ada batasan. Proses pembelajaran tentunya terkait adanya penguasaan konsep. Namun kenyataan yang dialami oleh siswa yaitu kurang minat siswa dalam belajar, menuntut siswa untuk menghafal materi. Tentunya pada penguasaan konsep memberikan solusi memecahkan masalah dalam kehidupan. Hal ini siswa mengambil keputusan dengan tepat, sering kali menjumpai keadaan lapangan yang menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah dalam pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar yaitu guru tidak memberikan dorongan masalah, siswa merasa kurang peduli terhadap menyelesaikan masalah di lingkungannya. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengujikan kefeektifan sebuah produk yang dikembangkan pada penerapan dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan pemecahan masalah terhadap program pembelajaran IPAS di Sekolah Dasar dengan Kerangka Understanding by Design (UbD). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian pengembangan serta model ADDIE. Berdasarkan penelitian menggunakan validasi ahli materi pelajaran dan proses pembelajaran serta validasi ahli Bahasa. Subjek penelitian adalah guru dan siswa kelas IV SD 17 &1 1 Muhammadiyah 11. Pada teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik deskriptif dan kuantitatif yaitu wawancara dan angket respon guru dan siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan produk yang dikembangkan yang dinyatakan valid oleh ahli materi pembelajaran dan proses pembelajaran dengan rerata penilaian pada tahapan I dan II memperoleh 97,50%, sedangkan ahli Bahasa tahapan I dan II memperoleh rerata 98,00%. Ditinjau berdasarkan hasil angket respon guru dan siswa kelas IV diperoleh. Pada respon guru menguji coba kelompok kecil dan lapangan (besar) diperoleh rerata 94,37%. Sedangkan angket respon siswa dengan rerata 93,14%. Hasil uji keefektifan penerapan program pembelajaran hasil pengembangan diperoleh dan dihitung rerata pretest 40 dan rerata posttest adalah 71,06. Setelah menggunakan uji normalitas gain diperoleh hasil 0.51. Pada penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan program pembelajaran IPAS Sekolah Dasar dengan Kerangka Understanding by Design (UbD) layak untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran.
