Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze e-learning activities at SDIT Future Islamic School (FIS) Pekanbaru. The subject and sample of the research used science teacher class VI and students of SDIT FIS Pekanbaru class VI A and B totaling 30 people. The study is a qualitative research with descriptive approach. The technique used in this study is observation and interviews, while the research instrument used field notes in the form of observations of e-learning activities and free-tied interview sheets. The data of e-learning activities provide from observations were student activities, such as writing, speaking, listening, observing, motoric skills, and mental activities such as activity that requires knowledge construction asking students to interpret, analyze, synthesize, or evaluate information or ideas when answering practice questions. Student activities are series of implementation of e-learning that technology in education. The results of interviews and observations show that the implementation of e-learning model were two modes. They were by using blended models and asynchronous methods in the application of mixing conventional learning (meeting in class) by utilizing technology to display subject matter offline. The implementation of e-learning in this school utilizes computer technology, LCDs, and speakers as a tool to deliver teaching materials to students. The e-learning implementation carried out in the learning process, included use of technology to display learning material, learning information, and also the students work results. The hardware such as laptop, LCD, and loudspeakers used by teachers and students to display information related to decay and weathering topics in the form of videos and pictures on natural science subjects. E-learning activities provide benefits to students and teachers in understanding the concept of subject matter that is packaged by the teacher in an exciting and informative manner.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze mathematics critical thinking of students on Quantum Learning model with Peer Assessment. This mixed method with sequential explanatory took fifth graders of whole Mayong district, Jepara municipal, in academic year 2018/2019 as the population. The sample consisted of chosen classes: VA and VB. The subjects were six VA students chosen based on three critical thinking groups: high, moderate, and poor. The techniques of collecting data used mathematics critical thinking skill test, peer assessment observation, and interview. The findings showed that Quantum Learning model learning with Peer Assessment was effective to improve mathematics critical thinking skill. On high group category students, they could meet all indicators well. The moderate group students had not been able to meet an indicator, the evaluation. The poor group category students had two unfulfilled indicators, namely evaluation and explanation. Based on the data obtained, it can be concluded that the quantum learning model with peer assessment is effective in improving student’s critical thinking skill in mathematics.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the Monopoly media learning media on the ability of understanding the place value with two digit numbersand the results of thematic learning in grade 1 elementary school students. The subjects of this study were grade 1 students at SD Negeri Tegalsari 01 and class B which has 24 students acted as the control group. This study was used quasi experimental design method with nonequivalent control group design. The results of the study on the understanding ability towards the place value with two digit numbersand thematic learning outcomes show the average score of initial test scores in the experimental group is 7.13 and the control group is 7.34. Meanwhile, for the average score of final test scores in the experimental group is 8.09 and the control group is 7.50. Based on these results, it appears that the Monopoly media can effectively improve the learning outcomes of the control group by marked enhancement in these results. The conclusion of this research is that the use of Monopoly game as learning media can effectively improve the results of thematic learning on the lesson of recognizing the living and non-living objects around us and explain the value of the place consisting two numbers. In addition, Monopoly can effectively influence the understanding of the place value with two digit numbers. From the results of this study, it is recommended for teachers to use Monopoly as media in the learning process.

Abstract

Mathematical creative thinking ability in problem solving becomes the requirement of mathematics education recently in order to find many ideas and new solution so that the issues can be resolved appropriately. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning in achieving the student’s creative mathematical thinking ability and their ability viewed from gender. This study used a mixed method design with concurrent embedded design by conducting quasi experimental design on quantitative method and Miles-Hubberman model to analyzed qualitative data. The first stage was quantitative data collection, and it was done using tests (essay). The next stage was qualitative data collection, and it was done using triangulation techniques such as tests and interviews. The study population was the grade VII SMP IT Bina Amal Semarang. Samples were grade VII Thoriq and VII Aisyah as an experimental class and grade VII Amru and VII Asma ' as the control class. Data analysis in qualitative research follows the concept given by Miles & Huberman are data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. Analysis of quantitative research includes analysis of the achievement aspects of mathematical creative thinking abilities. Quantitative data analysis includes a normality test, homogeneity tests, completeness tests, right-side tests, and average similarity test. The result of this study shown that CPS learning model effectively improved the ability of creative thinking viewed from gender, this is indicated by the mathematical creative thinking ability of the experimental class students reaches the minimal past score, the mathematical creative thinking ability of the experimental class students is better than of the control class, the mathematical creative thinking ability of female students are better than male on elaboration and flexibility indicators, whereas the mathematical creative thinking ability of male students are better than female on fluency and originality indicators. Based on the results, it can be concluded that CPS learning can improve student’s creative thinking abilities and different achievement between male and female students.

Abstract

The research was conducted to apply an effective model of learning in improving motivation and learning outcomes of students by using problem solving-based scientific learning. The study is an experimental research with quasi design. The samples were taken from SD Kluwut 02 and SD Grinting 01. One class was taught using problem solving-based scientific learning model and the other class thaught using convensional model. The results of this research show that there was a significant increase in motivation and learning outcomes. It was obtained an increase the average learning motivation score by 4.86% and learning outcomes by 39.4%. Learning motivation had a positive and significant effect on learning outcomes with an influence of 24.55%. Students responded very well to learning theme 8 and sub theme 3 using problem solving- based scientific learning model. It concluded that this learning model is is very effective and recommended to be applied in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the effectiveness of audio-visual media and serial images toward the improvement of the knowledge of sex education in early childhood. The research method used in this study was Mixed Method. Quantitative approach was used to obtain the effectiveness level of learning video media and serial images. The finding of this research expressed that the implementation of audio-visual media and serial images were still ineffective to be implemented through the learning activity. Those leaning media had the attractiveness, but students cannot optimally receive the message delivered. The effectiveness in this study was marked by the value of Sig. (2-tailed) 0.889 which was bigger than 0,05 (p > 0.05). The result of t-test independent sample testing concluded that the use of learning video and serial images was not effective to improve the knowledge of sex education in early childhood. It means that, there were no differences in the use of learning video and serial image toward the knowledge of early childhood sex education assigned in the value of t-count which was -0.140 with the probability Sig. (2-tailed) 0.889. Meanwhile, the qualitative approach was used to explain the ineffectiveness of learning video media and serial image.

Abstract

The research aim is to analyze the influence and effectiveness of problem based learning model with sociocultural insight to student social skill. This quasi experimental research used nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of Primary School I Krangkeng students as the experimental group and Primary School II Krangkeng as the control group. They were taken by purposive sampling technique. The technique of collecting data was questionnaire. Then, it was analyzed by Paired Sample t-test and Independent Sample t-test. The findings showed that problem based learning with sociocultural insight could improve the students’ social skills. It was proven by social skill average improvement from pretest – 34.17 into posttest – 43.76, there was significant difference between experimental group – implementing problem based learning with sociocultural insight, and control group – implementing expository or conventional model. It was shown by the significant score, lesser than 0.05. It was 0.005 > 0.05 and 0.003 > 0.05.

Abstract

The deficit of help-self ability is one of the characteristic of individuals with autism. The impact of low self-help ability can result in delays in the child's growth and development tasks. This research aimed to analyze the effectiveness of social reinforcement towards the self-help eating ability of autism students. The research method used was single subject research with the design A-B-A. The subject on this study was a male autism student in class B of Kindergarten Talenta Semarang. This research was divided into three phases namely baseline A1 (observation) for 5 sessions, intervention B for 8 sessions, social reinforcement intervention given in this phase in the form of verbal praise, soft touch, and so on. The las phase is Baseline A2 which lasts for 4 sessions. The data analysis used was the data analysis inside the condition and among the conditions. To measure the ability of self-help eating autistic students, used 15 performance indicators which include activities before eating, at mealtime, and after eating. The finding of indikator performance in this Baseline A1 phase which obtained the range of data 6- 4,9 , intervention B phase obtained the rage of data 14-11, and the range of data in baseline A2 phase was 11-9. The tendency of the direction from baseline A1 phase to the intervention phase was flat then increased, meanwhile the intervention phase to the baseline A2 was increased then decreased. However the result of the changing of the level in baseline A1 phase to the intervention +5, meanwhile the intervention phase to the baseline A2 -3. Based on that data analysis result, it can be concluded that the treatment of social reinforcement intervention had the long-term effectiveness towards the self-help ability of autism student as long as it is maintained and conducted optimally.

Abstract

Having competencies can create work professionalism and are reflected in the teaching performance performed by a teacher. These competence components include personality and social competencies. This study aims to analyze the influence of personality and social competencies of Kindergarten teachers in their teaching performance based on the principal's assessment. The samples were 101 school principals who assessed 173 kindergarten teachers. The research method used was quantitative with ex-post facto design. The data were collected through a questionnaire with a Likert scale. To determine the accuracy of the model, classical assumption testing was done which included normality test, multicollinearity test, and heteroscedasticity test. The analysis technique used was multiple regression analysis both partially and simultaneously. The results show that: first, there was a positive and significant influence between personality competence toward teacher performance with a significance of 41.8%. Second, there was a positive and significant influence between social competence toward teacher performance with a significant percentage of 47.8%. Third, there was a positive and significant influence between personality and social competencies toward teacher performance with a significant percentage of 51.9%. Through the results of these studies indicate that personal and social competence plays a role in the formation of teachers' performance, so it’s important for teachers to always try improve their ability to produce more optimal performance.

Abstract

Mathematical communication ability are competencies that students must owned, but the reality shows that mathematical communication ability are still weak. One strategy that can be done to improve mathematical communication ability is a collaborative model with the TTW strategy. This study has purpose to determine the mathematical communication ability in terms of linguistic intelligence. This study applied a mixed method research with concurrent embedded design and a qualitative research as the primary method. The type of quantitative research used in this study was an experimental research with the Nonrandommized Control Group. The subjects in this study were Grade VII students of MTs Al Miftah Sindangjaya. The data analysis of Learning quality was assessed from the planning, implementation and evaluation stages. Based on data analysis, there were many variations of mathematical communication ability that found as a collaborative work of each group, such as (a) Students with high linguistic intelligence have reached all indicators of mathematical communication ability (b) Students with linguistic intelligence were able to master two indicators of mathematical communication ability well (c) Students with low linguistic intelligence were able to master one indicator of mathematical communication ability well. It can be concluded that TTW can provide good training of linguistic intelligence through collaborative learning. But, the students achievement on mathematical communication were varies tend to dependen their linguistic intelligence.
