Abstract

Child development is strongly influenced by their family as the first environment and first source of education for the child. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of parenting style based on parents’ educational background at SD Kebon Dalem 2. This study uses qualitative method with case study approach. The subject of this study are three pairs of parents of fourth grade students at SD Kebon Dalem 2. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation method. The validity of the data was tested using the triangulation method. The result showed that parents with higher educational background (college graduates) and secondary educational background (junior and high school graduates) did not only apply one kind of parenting style. In terms of assisting academic and non-academic development, all parents apply democratic or authoritative parenting style. They supervise their children’s academic development at school, as well as provide support for their talents and interests outside of school. However, in terms of building independence, responsibility, and regulating the use of gadget, parents who are college and high school graduates apply authoritarian parenting style, resulting in their children being responsible and independent. On the contrary, parents with junior high school graduates apply permissive parenting style, resulting in the child being less responsible, less independent, and tend to use the gadget excessively. This research in expected to be able to provide inputs for parents, teachers, and school and to determine whether counseling is needed or not to improve student’s achievement.

Abstract

The Covid-19 emergency has caused a shift in learning. Learning activities that were previously carried out in classroom now have to be done at home or study from home. The Covid-19 Emergency Period makes students often interact with gadgets. It is predicted in the future that Gen A students have less socialization problems, less creativity and more individualistic attitude. Continuous use of gadgets also has the potential to make them socially isolated. Character education must continue during the distance learning period. The purpose of this study was to analyze the character values that can be developed in Distance Learning (PJJ) at State Islamic Elementary School Four of Boyolali Regency by implementing learning media. The research method used is field research with a qualitative approach through field observations, interviews and documentation. Data collection techniques are using observation methods, interview methods and documentation. The principals, teachers, parents, and students were involved in this research. Data data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing/verification were employed to gain the goals. The results of the research on the implementation of character education in the online learning by integrating them in the thematic learning. Planning, implementation, and evaluation approach were conducted by the teachers in distance learning model. Character values that can be developed in distance learning are religious values, nationalist values, independent values, mutual cooperation values and integrity values. Abstract

According to the observation results of Javanese Language subject matter on Aksara Jawa learning materials in 3rd grade of SDN Plalangan 03, it was found that most of students have an inability to focus on the subject materials when learning Aksara Jawa that were taught by the teacher. Students are less motivated in learning aksara Jawa. The usage of learning media and resources to convey the learning material still less varied so that reading and writing skills are lessoptimum. The purpose of this research is the effectivity of Sinau Aksara Jawa (Sadewa) module in improving Aksara Jawa’s reading and writing skills. The samples of this research are 3rd grade students of SDN Plalangan 03 and SDN Pakintelan 03. The sampling that used in this research is simple random sampling. The research data were collected through a test of Aksara Jawa’s reading and writing skills. The data were analyzed through mean difference test in SPSS application that called paired sample t-test. The results of this research revealed that there is significant difference between the pretest and posttest results of reading and writing test skills using Sinau Aksara Jawa (Sadewa) module. According to the results, the working hypothesis (Ha) were accepted which means the Sinau Aksara Jawa (Sadewa) module is effective in improving the reading and writing skills of 3rd grade students.

Abstract

The implementation of Indonesian Class VI learning, especially in writing student reports, has various obstacles. This is based on several factors including students who do not understand the form of the report to be written, students have difficulty in starting and determining the contents of the report to be written. This research is quantitative research, that is Quasi Experimental or often referred to as quasi-experimental aims to improve student learning outcomes and report writing skills with the Think Talk Write learning model assisted by Wordwall media. Determination of the sample using purposive sampling technique, purposive sampling is a sampling technique with certain considerations. Located at SDN 02 Sukorejo and SDN 01 Botekan in Ulujami District, Pemalang Regency. The sample of this study amounted to 56 students of class VI Elementary School. Data was collected through test, observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques with validity, reliability, level of difficulty, normality test, homogeneity test, one sample t-test, two sample t-test, N-gain test, and simple correlation test. Based on the results of simple regression, it is known that (p = 0.00) < (? = 0.05); This means that students' activities in using think talk write learning assisted by Wordwall media affect students' writing skills and increase student learning outcomes as indicated by the results of the sig (2-tailed) regression test of 0.00 < 0.05; it means that students' writing skills affect student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Less varied and less integrated learning materials with technology causing students had limited learning materials and coverage. Thus, the local wisdom-based interactive flipbook developed in this study was expected to provide learning materials and real problems so that students are encouraged to respond critically and finally have their critical thinking ability improved. Further, this study aimed to develop, analyze the feasibility, and examine the effectiveness of a local wisdom-based interactive flipbook with a problem-based learning model on the social science subject taught to grade five at SDN 1 Bandengan Jepara. It belonged to Research and Development (R&D) as developed by Brog and Gall. In addition to data collection technqiues, tests, observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation were employed. Once the data were collected, those were analyzed using several initial tests, namely product viability and response questionnaire, while the final data analyses covered normality test, t-test, and n-gained test. Here, 40 students of grade five at SDN 1 Bandengan Jepara were involved as the population of this study. Findings showed that the viability of this product in each aspect was presentation 100%, content was 95.31%, and language was 93.75%. In terms of effectiveness, it gained the value of sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05 in t test, meaning that there was a significant difference between the results of the pretest and posttest with the n-gain test of 0.454 in the medium category. To sum up, the local wisdom-based interactive flipbook is viable and effective to use in social science learning.
