The tremendous recent involvement of technology in our life generates a lot of advantages and disadvantages. Nevertheless, and to profoundly augment its positive influence, at the expense of the negatives, most technology be deployed to serve humanity and society. Researchers attractive in developing robust and cooperative robotics that capable of solving difficult tasks without any human control. Metal detector robot is one of the robotics principles due to its effectiveness as compared with manually operated and very slow traditional methods. In this article, three main points that are concentrated 1) Design a robot which is vehicle-mounted sensors that capable of carries the sensors of the metal and obstacle; 2) Control and management system wirelessly by a computer-based to command the robot functions by several sets of user’s rules and manage the robot instructions; and 3) Conduct an integrated system that achieving navigated data via metal detector based on online structured query language database registry. Also, discussed a comparison of the previous detector systems and highlights on several merits. The proposed system capable of fully control the robot also, set the robot operator permissions and rules, stored and archived the navigated results and printed reports and stored in an independent database.

We focus a modern methodology in this paper for adding the fuzzy logic control as well as sliding model control. This combination can enhance the MLS position control robustness and enhanced performance of it.In the start, for an application in an area to control the loops placement and position for the synchronous motor what has permanent magnetic linearity we tend to control the fuzzy sliding mode control. To resolve the chattering issues a designed controller is investigated and, in this way, steady state motion in sliding with higher accuracy is obtained. In this case, method of online tuning with the help of fuzzy logic is used in order to adjust the thickness of boundary layer and switching gains.For the suggested scheme technique, the outcomes of simulation suggest that with the classical SMC the accurate state and good dynamic performance is compared due to force chattering resistance, response by quick dynamic force and external disturbance elements and robustness against them.

This paper provides a new approach to reducing high-order harmonics in 400 Hz inverter using a three-level neutral-point clamped (NPC) converter. A voltage control loop using the harmonic compensation combined with NPC clamping diode control technology. The capacitor voltage imbalance also causes harmonics in the output voltage. For 400 Hz inverter, maintain a balanced voltage between the two input (direct current) (DC) capacitors is difficult because the pulse width modulation (PWM) modulation frequency ratio is low compared to the frequency of the output voltage. A method of determining the current flowing into the capacitor to control the voltage on the two balanced capacitors to ensure fast response reversal is also given in this paper. The combination of a high-harmonic resonator controller and a neutral-point voltage controller working together on the 400 Hz NPC inverter structure is given in this paper.

ABSTRACT Article history: Received Oct 14, 2020 Revised Mar 22, 2021 Accepted Apr 23, 2021 This paper presented a strategy for modeling, simulation and control of a hybrid grid connected power system which is in fact a rather complex system. In this work, we study how to use two renewable energies in an efficient manner without any disturbing of the main network. Our hybrid energy system (HES) is composed by two renewable energy sources, the photovoltaic source and wind source. It is better for these two systems to work at their maximum power in order to return the investment cost of the system. The proposed solution is to connect those generators to the electrical grid via the AC bus with trackers. Where the photovoltaic generator (PVG) is followed by a DC/DC boost converter, controlled by a perturb and observe (P&O) tracker, then followed by a three-phase voltage inverter (3-ph-VSI) which is controlled by the watt-var decoupled method. The wind system is based on permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) which is used as a variable speed generator and directly connected to the turbine (without gearbox) followed by back-to-back converters. The grid side converter (GSC) allows us to control the DC bus voltage and unity power factor, while the machine side converter (MSC) ensures us to control the PMSM speed. Knowing that pitch angle control is not considered in our study. The MPPT control strategy, which is based on the optimum peak speed ratio (OTSR), is used to ensure the most energy efficiency despite variations in wind speed. The coupling of the two systems is done via the Point of Common Collecting (PCC). Finally, simulation results show the feasibility of our solution and the good performances of the proposed control strategy, applied for mediumsized HES in power generation. They also demonstrate that such system topology is very advantageous.

In this paper, the closed loop speed controller parameters are optimized for the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive on the basis of the indirect field-oriented control (IFOC) technique. In this derive system under study, the speed and current controllers are implemented using the fractional order proportional, integral, and derivative (FOPID) controlling technique. FOPID is considered as efficient techniques for ripple minimization. The hybrid grey wolf optimizer (HGWO) is applied to obtain the optimal controllers in case of implementing conventional PID as well as FOPID controllers in the derive system. The optimal controller parameters tend to enhance the drive response as ripple content in speed and current, either during steady state time or transient time. The drive system is modeled and tested under various operating condition of load torque and speed. Finally, the performance for PID and FOPID are evaluated and compared within MATLAB/Simulink environment. The results attain the efficacy of the operating performance with the FOPID controller. The result shows a fast response and reduction of ripples in the torque and the current.

The work presented in this article is a contribution to the problem of controlling reactive powers and voltages in an electrical network. Among these control tools, the static reactive power compensator (SVC) was chosen because of its simplicity of control. SVC is one of the Alternative Flexible Current Transmission Systems (FACTS) devices which help to solve the problems encountered in the operation of electrical networks, either on the distribution side or on the transport side. To increase its compensation efficiency in the face of harmonic currents which cause voltage distortion, we have introduced a three-phase harmonic filter. This new hybrid SVC is used to control the reactive power, the voltage and in addition to reduce the voltage distortion and the correction of the power factor in the electrical energy transport network. In order to improve its efficiency, two voltage regulation systems have been chosen in the control system for this compensator, the fuzzy PI regulator and the PIP regulator.

A direct torque control using a classical switching- table ST-DTC can be used to control the torque and thus the speed of Dual Three-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (DTP-PMSM). The principle is based on direct application of control sequence by using two hysteresis regulators and a switching table. A large stator current containing low order harmonics is produced during the application of the classic ST-DTC technique, this leads to higher losses affecting the efficiency of the machine. To allow a reduction of these harmonics a modified switching-table approach based DTC technique is examined. Indeed, an improved ST-DTC strategy, which consist of replacing the vectors of the classical table with synthetic vectors, is discussed. The simulation results confirm the validity of the selected strategy.

Distributed generations (DG), specially including renewable sources such as wind and sun are offering several opportunities for the currently in existence distribution networks and becoming one of the keys of treatment of its problems. Knowing the effects of each kind of DG on distribution networks is a primordial task because DG impacts differ from one kind to another. In this paper, we have analyzed and compared the effects of two kinds of DG, DG which provides real power only and DG which provides real power and reactive power at the same time connected at the critical bus in DN on the voltage profile, real and reactive power losses. We have proposed Newton Raphson method using Matlab to investigate the impacts of these two kinds of DG on 57-bus IEEE distribution test system. The obtained results have been exposed in detail at the end of this paper.

This article proposes a novel scheme to improve the doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) behavior during grid fault. The DFIG’s are sensitives to voltage variations when abrupt variations of the wind velocity arrive. For enhancing DFIG behavior, protecting the converters, and smoothing the fluctuations power output of the DFIG under sag voltage; a novel hybrid energy storage system scheme and its controller are proposed. The main advantages of our approach are a faster response and suppressing overvoltage on DC bus and globally less stress in the storage system. The control structure decreases the tiredness on the battery and restores the DC bus voltage rapidly, globally the battery system operating time increases. The results obtained by simulations in MATLAB validate the benefits of the suggested control.

This paper proposes the calculation of the simple levelized cost of electricity of PV and battery energy storage system for supporting the investment decision of the EV hybrid charging station. The paper introduces the problems of EV charging against the grid power system. Thus, the hybrid charging for EV is suggested. The study provides an architecture of the hybrid EV charging station along with the factor impacting the EV infrastructure for acknowledgment. The cost elements of the station are presented to address the benefits of the investment. Besides, the profit is mainly from the margin of the electricity price, therefore, this study compares the electricity cost of PV and PV equipped with a battery with the commercial on-peak electricity tariff. The results show that the charging cost contributed by PV alone has the lowest amount throughout the study period year 2020 – 2030. In contrast, the hybrid charging cost contributed by PV and battery has a higher value than the on-peak tariff during 2020 – 2025 but it is lower afterward. The result supports the feasibility of charging an EV by solar power and the hybrid power system in the future.
