Abstract

This study aimed to analyze whether the application of remedial teaching can be used to improve student learning outcomes on the subject of ionic and covalent bonds. The population in this study were all students of class XI SMAN Peukan Bada consisting of 2 classes with the use of first class as a sample, totaling 30 students. In this study, the data collection instrument in the form of multiple-choice tests that have been tested for validity and reliability and awarded to students after the study material and the ionic bonding and covalent bonding after remedial teaching (remedial test). The results of data analysis showed that the level of completeness of student learning outcomes in individuals with absorption of 70% is 30% while the level of data completeness outcomes after remedial teaching 61% that of the percentage is concluded that an increase in student learning outcomes from 30% to 61% , This result indicates that results for students after teaching remedial increased by 31%. Hypothesis testing is used to test the two parties namely the t-test with the following data thitung = 4.09 and ttubel = 1.699 at a significance level of 0.05 and db = 29. Thus concluded that "the implementation of remedial teaching can be used to improve student learning outcomes in the subject of ionic and covalent bonding in class XI SMAN Peukan Bada

Abstract

This study aims to produce a qualitative instrument for entrepreneur knowledge. Based on previous research, it was prepared a set of questions to determine the items that make up the entrepreneurial knowledge. Ten informants involved, they are all the entrepreneur. They were asked their opinions regarding the knowledge they need in running a business. The focus group discussion conducted to find the data. The results showed that there are four dimensions of knowledge entrepreneurs namely the level of education with three items statements, functional knowledge with ten items of the statement, the skill with nine items statement and the last is self-confidence with four  items statement.

Abstract

This study entitled " The Effort of Islamic Education Teachers in Improving Students’ Reciting Al- Qur'an Ability at SMP Negeri 2 Pulo Aceh." This study uses quantitative methods. This study aims to determine the efforts of teachers PAI in improving the capability which was achieved by students in reciting the Qur'an from class VII, VII and IX. The total sample of this study is 58 students. From the observation, it was known that the student’ reciting Al-Qur’an ability of SMP Negeri 2 Pulo Aceh is not maximized as desired. However, the teachers have been working to make their students can properly recite Al-Qur’an by providing extra tutoring or hours beside PAI subjects, and the teachers also give advice to the students to be diligent and active in studying the Al-Qur'an.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to know the percentage of students’ error in using Personal Pronouns and to know what kind of Personal Pronouns error that is often made by the students. A case study which used a descriptive analysis was uttilized in this study. The sample of this research was students at grade X MIPA-1 of SMAN 1 Mesjid Raya. To get the data, the students were given 25 multiple choice questions about Personal Pronouns. Then, the students test paper were analyzed based on types of Personal Pronoun errors. The result of the analysis showed that the percentage error of Personal Pronouns were: Possesive Pronoun 70 (73,68%), Reflexive Pronoun 64 (67,36%), Possesive Adjective 63 (66,31%), Object Pronoun 59 (62,10%) and the least made errors are Subject Pronoun consisted of 40 errors (42,10%). Based on all of the findings above, it was found that the most errors which were made by students at the first grade of SMAN 1 Mesjid Raya, Aceh Besar; is in using Possesive Pronoun. These findings suggest that the students need to be given much attention and support by their teachers in understanding different types of personal pronouns in English.

Abstract

Accelerated classroom has become the meaningful program in the school that given for the special students.  Since the use of same curriculum that has been modified between acceleration class and normal class becomes a debate. This paper presents an analysis of the differences in achievement between acceleration students and regular students. Also, it gives a description of prospects and problems of accelerated classroom in Indonesia. The account of the difference between regular students and non-regular students is exposed from three paradigm; psychology, curriculum, and economic. The conversation provides pro and con regarding to the existence of the acceleration class. The reflection about the gifted students who have high ability, Indonesia should hold acceleration class to meet their needs.

Abstract

Some factors supporting occur sex behavior among teenagers, among others; environmental factors, the electronic media, the lack of information and lack of religious education. The school environment has contributed to the occurrence of free sex. Schools are less disciplined and ignored kaedah-kaedah religion, often no lessons during school hours. The aim of research to identify the role of teachers' relationship to knowledge about adolescent promiscuity. This study is a parallel analytic design with cross sectional study to identify the relationship of the teacher's role pengatahuan teens about sex include the variable role of teachers as educators and counselors and knowledge of adolescents about sex. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 1 Indrapuri subdistrict, Aceh Besar district. Sampling was done by stratified random sampling with the number of respondents 82 people. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 1 Indrapuri subdistrict, Aceh Besar District by distributing questionnaires. Univariate and bivariate data analysis using a computer program. The results showed no significant correlation between the teacher's role as a teacher and mentor teens about sex in which the test results obtained by statistical P-value = 0.006 where the result is less than the value of α = 0.05. Knowledge of adolescents about sex is strongly influenced by the role of a good teacher. Expected in educational institutions SMA N 1 Subdistrict Indrapuri to play well in fostering the students and teach them about sex.

Abstract

This study aims to know: (1) the accuracy of the translation of the Quran Surah Ali Imran published by Religious Affair, (2) the clarity of translation in terms of structure, diction, and spelling, and (3) the general readers’ responses to that surah. These objectives can be achieved through the qualitative and quantitative analysis by comparing the translation with the source passage through the utilization of the verse. Next, the researcher asked the general readers and expert readers on the clarity of Religious Affair‘s translation by comparing it with other translations. The analysis found that the translation is correct, but poorly understood by the reader because the sentence structure complicated, less precise choice of words, sentence length, and less careful in spelling. After this weakness improved and the general reader asked their responses, it was found that the improvement translation is easier to understand than Religious Affair’s translation. Therefore, it is suggested that the translation is aligned with some of the conclusions of this study.

Abstract

Understanding is the ultimate goal to be achieved from each strategy applied learning in the learning process. However, teachers generally do not know the specific tool that can measure the understanding and misconceptions. Novak refers to the theories Ausubel said that these problems can be solved with a concept map. According to Novak, Concept Map can be applied with the purpose of (1) investigate what is already known by students, (2) learn how to learn, (3) reveal misconceptions, and (4) an evaluation tool. Algebra is one of the materials that are important in mathematics. The mistake in understanding the concept of algebra will impact on the erroneous understanding of other materials, because algebra is one of the foundations of mathematics. Therefore, understanding the concepts and misconceptions that occur in algebra important to know. This study aimed to describe understanding of algebra concepts, find misconceptions as well as evaluating the lecturing process that has been going on mathematics education of Abulyatama University. To achieve these objectives, the researchers used a method-descriptive exploratory study with a qualitative approach. Subjects were pre-service teacher in mathematics education, The Faculty of Education, Abulyatama University. Researchers became the main instrument, while supporting instruments namely; concept mapping assignment sheet (LTPK), the questionnaire, questionnaire responses and the recorder. Data validity checking carried out by the same method on different sources, called triangulation method. Data analysis was performed with the stage offered by Miles and Huberman, namely; (1) data reduction, (2) presentation of data, and (3) conclusion. The results showed that the understanding of algebra concept of pre-service teacher using a concept map on Mathematics Education is at the level of misconceptions portion (MSG). The misconception algebra of pre-service teacher in mathematics education using concept maps happen to identify a secondary idea, in determining the type of map concepts and reasons for selecting it, and in clarifying the relationship with the main idea of secondary ideas. The response of pre-service teacher to the lecture algebra is positive (3.27).

Abstract

The background of this study is the students’ difficulties in resolving the problems in trigonometry material. Trigonometry material requires creativity of students so that students are required to build knowledge and learning strategies. Metacognitive approach is one approach that focuses on how the teaching in learning mathematics or the students who are invited to learn and learn to think. The subjects were the students of class X-6 SMA Negeri 11 Banda Aceh. the total sample is 30 students. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach. The type of this research is one shot case study design (pre-experimental method). The used instrument for data collection is a test of student learning outcomes, teachers' observation sheet for the ability in managing learning and student activities, and student questionnaire responses. The obtained data were processed using percentages, the ideal time criteria, and the description of the average score in order to get information about students’ activities, students’ responses, the ability of teachers in managing the learning and mastery learning. The effectiveness of this learning can be based on (1) Mastery learning, (2) the ability of teachers in managing learning, (3) Activities of students, (4) The response of students. Learning trigonometry with metacognitive approach would be considered effective if at least three of the four aspects are met with the requisite thoroughness aspects of learning outcomes are met (effective). The results showed that metacognitive approach is effective in trigonometry material in class X-6 SMA Negeri 11 Banda Aceh. It is because, (1) the results of student learning is complete, (2) students’ activities are active, and (3) students' response toward learning are positive, and (4) the ability of teachers in managing learning are in good or excellent criteria.
