Jurnal Pariwisata Terapan (JPT) is a biannual, peer-reviewed, open access academic journal dedicated to studies in applied tourism science in Indonesia. JPT invites authors in the field of applied tourism to submit manuscripts written in English or Bahasa Indonesia. The objective of JPT is delivering comprehensive knowledge on applied tourism science in Indonesia. JPT invites manuscript in three main topics, but not limited to an application of tourism science in hospitality industry, tourism businesses, and destination development in Indonesia. We encourage different perspectives on tourism science application to broader views in the field of tourism and contribute to tourism science development in Indonesia.

Abstract

Jatiluwih Tourism Attraction as part of the World Cultural Heritage is a tourist product consumed by tourists. Perception of tourists is important to be studied as a reference in the management of tourist attractions. Data collection techniques using survey methods are used to determine tourists' perception of Jatiluwih Tourism Attraction as part of the World Cultural Heritage. Questionnaires are used as research instruments to obtain information from tourists. After the data is collected, then the measurement is done using the Likert Scale. In determining the number of tourist samples used Slovin formula. Based on Slovin formula with a tolerance limit of 5%, the number of samples for foreign tourists as many as 204 people, and the number of samples for domestic tourists as many as 52 people. The total sample count was 256 people. Domestic and foreign tourists give the highest perception of employment opportunities for the community from the management of tourist attractions. Good perception of tourists is also given to the friendliness of the staff in providing service, naturalness and beauty of the scenery around the tourist attraction. The perception of tourists is not good given to the price of souvenirs, ease of access to the internet, availability of souvenirs with local characteristics, and smooth traffic around tourist attractions.

Abstract

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on restricted mobility, as well as a devastating economic development in various sectors, have change renewed interest in the future of tourism, especially in Hospitality Industry. This study sought to examine the Theory of Planned Behavior in the context of hotel staycation during the Covid-19 pandemic. Paired t-tests and the structural equation modelling were applied to assess the 246 responses of Z generations in Indonesia for the first and second quarters of 2021. The finding showed that attitude, perceived behavioral control, and subjective norms affect the hotel staycation intention during a pandemic for Z generations. Perceived behavioral control plays the most significant part.  Several findings are provided on how the generation perceives traveling during the COVID-19 pandemic and how to encourage them to resume traveling after the travel restriction is lifted. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed. The viewpoint proffered in this study provides scopes of the hospitality industry in terms of hotel staycation programs to maintain a resilient economic strategy during the pandemic.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, herbal agro-tourism became very popular in Indonesia. Agrotourism is closely related to edu-tourism. To build an edu-tourism business, business actors must apply the concept of creativity so that tourists can gain more useful and educative knowledge. One of the herbal agro-tourism locations in Sleman is Merapi Farma Herbal Farm. Even though educational content, facilities, and completeness of resources in the implementation of agro-tourism packages are already available and well managed, managers still must know whether the implementation of the tour packages run at Merapi Farma Herbal Farm has been effective in delivering educational content to the tourist. This research aimed to determine the types of educational content contained in Merapi Farma Herbal Farm Sleman, and to determine the effectiveness of delivering agro-tourism educational content at Merapi Farma Herbal Farm Sleman to tourists' understanding. The research methods in this study are descriptive method and survey method, and direct observation, interviews with sources, literature studies, and documentation were conducted to find out the types of educational content provided by Merapi Farma Herbal Farm. Meanwhile, to determine the effectiveness of delivering agro-tourism educational content, this research conducted a hypothesis test to tourists/visitors at Merapi Farma Herbal Farm Sleman as the research sample. The tool used to collect data is questionnaires. The analytical tool used to test the hypothesis is the Wilcoxon Test. The results showed that the types of educational content contained at Merapi Farma Herbal Farm Sleman were education about types of herbal plants, how to cultivate herbal plants, the benefits of herbal plants, the history of herbal medicine inIndonesia, and how to mix herbs traditionally. The results of the analysis used the Wilcoxon Test also show that the delivery of agrotourism educational content at Merapi Farma Herbal Farm Sleman can provide tourists with an understanding of herbal plants.

Abstract

Desa wisata Wukirsari merupakan salah satu alternatif pariwisata yang berada di Kabupaten Bantul. Dengan memanfaatkan potensi yang beragam Desa Wisata Wukirsari mampu menarik wisatawan untuk berkunjung. Pada tahun 2017, kunjungan wisatawan mencapai 20.714 dan pada tahun 2018 mengalami peningkatan kunjungan wisatawan yang mencapai 20.830. Meningkatnya jumlah pengunjung setiap tahunnya dapat meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat sekitar terutama yang terlibat langsung dalam pengelolaan desa wisata. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif sehingga dapat memberikan gambaran masalah dari hasil penelitian di lapangan berdasarkan data yang ada. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara, kuesioner dan dokumen.

Abstract

The research held in Gurun Telaga Biru, Kabupaten Bintan, Bintan, Kepulauan Riau. The aim is to understand the economic value of Gurun Telaga Biru and also collaborative management which can be applied in order to develop the area as a sustainable tourism. Gurun Telaga Biru is part of industrial park area belongs to PT Suryabangunpertiwi (SBP) with 4.000 hectare land bank. Gurun Telaga Biru has 50 hectares wide which plan as a green belt of industrial park, knowing that its location is closed to Bintan airport. It means that the area is not for industrial factory or other tall building, which will affect the airplane transport circulation.The research applied is mixed method which is mixed analysing from observation, interview and support by quantitative data using Maple 2017 to understand the economic value and tourists’ willingness to pay for Gurun Telaga Biru. PT SBP can use the result of Total Economic Value as data review, in order to decide whether keeping the area as an idle land or developing it as a nature-based tourist destination. The Total Economic Value of Gurun Telaga Biru is Rp. 493.950.214.550,-.per year by understanding the economic value per meter square is Rp. 862.290,- This number is relatively high if compared to the small effort in preparing the place with proper facilities. Communities can explore the nature without adding others infrastructure. Collect the entrance and parking fee. However, it can be more valuable if they conduct in good collaborative management by providing proper infrastructure such as toilet, parking area, food court and souvenir shop by maintaining the collaboration in business, education and social community.

Abstract

National Flower and Animal Love Day (HCPSN), celebrated every 5 November, aims to increase awareness, protection, conservation, and sustainable use of national flowers and animals. One way to commemorate HCPSN is to organize an exhibition on biodiversity conservation. The 2020’s HCPSN exhibition held at Bogor Botanical Gardens. the research team surveyed by distributing questionnaires to 90 visitors to obtain data on their perceptions and attitudes towards nature conservation and opinions on environmental education. The survey found that only some respondents knew about HCPSN (53.3%), National Nature Conservation Day (41.1%), Environment Day (52.2%), and International Forest Day (36.7%). Respondents realized that nature conservation is the responsibility of all citizens (67.8%) and 21.2% of respondents support and participate in environmental conservation actions. As many as 61.1% of respondents think that environmental education in schools is still lacking, therefore they consider it necessary to have environmental education in schools, both in the form of separate subjects (57.0%), integrated into other materials (28.0%) and extracurricular (15.0%). The survey also found that environmental education was obtained by respondents from schools (21.5%), books (16.2%), social media (13.1%), museums (13.1%), television (12.6%), parents (7.9%), exhibitions (6.3%), newspapers and magazines (4.7%), and brochures or posters (4.7%). The respondent's educational background has a significant effect on the perception of endangered flower, and the first source of knowledge about nature conservation obtained by the respondent is highly significant correlation with the respondent's perception of the endangered flower, but not for national animals. Based on these findings, a strategy for promoting nature conservation can be drawn up, especially during a pandemic.

Abstract

The Purpose of this study was to determine the effecet of interest rate and inflation on stock prices, by taking sample of the tourism sub-sector companies listerd on the Indonesian Stock Exchange 2015-2019 period. The sampling technique used in this study using judgment sampling as many as 22 companies engaged in the sector. Data collection method using secondary data processing. This study uses a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis, with the aim of knowing the direction and how much influence the independent variable has on the dependent variable. From the results of data processing, it is known that the partial test results of Interest rate (X1) has a negative and significant effect on stock prices (Y) with a regression coefficient value of -38.43 and Inflation (X2) have a negative and insignificant effect on stock prices (Y) with a regression coefficient of -2.219

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has created unprecedented business changes and has significantly impacted the tourism sector. Hotels began to carry out adaptive capabilities and create improvements through innovative practices to maintain the company's viability by focusing on market changes and taking advantage of potential market share. In the light of this phenomenon, this study aims to determine the effect of marketing innovation on room purchasing decisions at Anantara Hotel Uluwatu Bali Resort. Data collection techniques used in this study were documentation, interviews, and questionnaires. Purposive sampling is used by taking responses of 50 people. In addition, this study used simple linear regression analysis techniques, t-test, and coefficient of determination (R2).Based on the simple linear regression analysis result produces the equation Y = 0.001 + 1.027 X. The t-test points out that the t-value of 13,870 is greater than the t-table of 1.98472. Similarly, the t-test results in the t-calculation of 11.888, which is greater than the t-table of 2.011. The coefficient of determination test produces an R2 value of 0.746, meaning that marketing innovation (X) affects 74.6% of the room purchase decision (Y). In comparison, the remaining 25.4% is explained by other variables not discussed in this study. Hence, result it is found that marketing innovation positively affects room purchasing decisions.

Abstract

Community participation is an important element in the development of community-based tourism. However, in practice, people participation is not easy to encourage because the community itself consists of various stakeholders. Presenting a case study of community participation in Ngargogondo Village, this study elaborates on the role of rural communities in tourism development. Through a qualitative approach with in-depth interview in data collection, this study analyzes the forms of participation of the Ngargogondo Village community in local tourism development. The findings show that three community groups in Ngargogondo Village carry out different levels of participation: citizen control, consultation, and manipulative. This shows that the community is heterogeneous, thus, community-based development in a village should be implemented with different approaches that adapt to the diversity of stakeholders in it.

Abstract

Meluasnya penularan COVID-19 di Indonesia membuat pemerintah harus memberlakukan beberapa kebijakan tentang pembatasan mobilitas masyarakat. Dari hal tersebut muncul banyak fenomena masif yang terjadi di masyarakat, salah satunya adalah tingginya minat bersepeda masyarakat. Munculnya fenomena tersebut pun memiliki korelasi dengan banyaknya daya tarik yang dilalui pesepeda, diantaranya bangunan cagar budaya atau bangunan heritage. Dari hal tersebut lah yang melatar belakangi pembuatan rute wisata sepeda heritage di Kota Bandung ini. Tujuan dari pembuatan rute wisata ini yaitu agar para pesepeda di kota Bandung dapat menikmati kegiatan bersepeda lebih informatif dan tersusun dengan melalui berbagai daya tarik sejarah yang ada di Kota Bandung. Metode pembuatan rute ini mengacu kepada dasar pembuatan paket wisata dengan fokus transportasi menggunakan sepeda. Hasil dari proyek ini berupa beberapa rute wisata sepeda pilihan yang berisi tentang bangunan cagar budaya dan rute khusus representasi kejadian sejarah dimasa lampau yang terjadi di Kota Bandung. Diharapkan dengan adanya rute wisata sepeda heritage ini bisa menjadi pilihan jalur para pesepeda dalam melakukan aktivitas bersepedanya.
