This may include articles that report results of quantitative or qualitative research studies. Conceptual Idea, publishes articles conceptually relevant to advancing the practice of music and learning, present theories of music, models, or philosophical position, etc. Articles may draw upon theory/or material developed in educational practice that recognize and address a wide range of pedagogical approach that would interest members from a variety of countries and teaching setting, including activities and art materials to help internationalize art curricula.

Abstract

Lhaiyo is one of actor that present Semarang reggae face and can extensively attract attention. In other word, Lhaiyo is easily accepted in society. Existence of Lhaiyo band is also supportedby fans who always give support in each performance. Lhaiyo Positions which are unique and different from other reggae band get attention this research. Although it is against the flow, this band can attract attention all of people who do not love reggae music. This research has a goal to discover factors that affect society acceptance regarding Lhaiyo band and patterns of interaction happening among fans with reggae Lhaiyo band. Used in this research, Method is qualitative approach. it is Data collection techniques with observation, interview and documentation. Researches indicate that there are factors which influence getting fans against Lhaiyo band are internal factor and externals factors. Moreover, there is a relation happening between Lhaiyo band with their fans. Essentially, it is relation between fans with artist. As artist, connection which happend among Lhaiyo Band with their fans still as restricted sympathy and empathy. Imitation process or identification of fans with their artist has happened in this social interaction.

Abstract

Music as one of the areas that are closely related to human life has an effect on the healing of both physical and psychological (mental). This is manifested by the presence of music therapy in certain agencies, such as hospitals, homes, and special school. Students from special school are also referred to children with special needs (ABK) or diffable, one of which is autistic. Autism is a disorder with characterized by difficult social and tend to be isolated from others. Characteristics of band is collaboration, in which is the opposite characteristics with autism, that’s why research about band as treatment media for students with autism in State Special School of Semarang conducted. The result is the band chosen because it has the function of motion therapy, memory, and social. Models of music therapy in State Special School of Semarang are music therapy and music classes with the process of music therapy with class model’s using drill imitation.

Abstract

Traditional Art “Tong-Tong Prek” of Desa Jatirejo Kecamatan Ampelgading Kabupaten Pemalang is the only one traditional art of tong-tong prek in Desa Jatirejo. Traditional Art “Tong-Tong Prek” of Desa Jatirejo Kecamatan Ampelgading Kabupaten Pemalang can produce a unique music. The purpose of the music of “tong-tong prek” actually to wake the people up in fasting month, but in that village the music of “tong-tong prek” not only becomes a music to wake the people up, but also to be a show for the people. In the other town, it is also called “Thek-Thek” or “Thong-Thong Lek”. The musics that produced in this traditional art are campursari tone with song lyrics that they produce by themselves. The themes of the songs are about islamic, people’s lives, and also about neightborhood security system (siskamling). The objective of this research is to find the type and the function of Traditional Art “Tong-Tong Prek” of Desa Jatirejo Kecamatan Ampelgading Kabupaten Pemalang.

Abstract

The background of this research is the inappropriate keyboard learning method so it is need an appropriate learning method to solve that problem. The research statement of the problem is how to use ‘music style’ as a medium in keyboard learning to improve students’ activity in keyboard learning process in music extracurricular in the Elementary School 1 Kalipuncang Wetan and how the process of keayboard learning method. This research is done by using classroom action research method which the research is divided into 2 cycles. Each cycle is done with planning, action, observation and reflection. The data collection method is done by doing observation, interview, documentation and assessment. The data analysis techniques in this research are qualitatively and quantitatively. The research results shows that the use of ‘music style’ can improve the students’ activity in keyboard learning activity in music extracurricular. Based on the assessment result in the cycle 1, 50% students can reach the good and very good score (>80) then it is improved in the assessment result of cycle 2, 80% students can reach good and very good score. according to observation result that consist of (1)behavior (2) enthusiasm (3) discipline (4) activity. On the assessment of the cycle 2, 4 aspects are improved and there is no students that get low score.

Abstract

Horus Rapolo Musik is one of the musical group Batak Toba is located in Semarang. In the show performed always using taganing as a hallmark of Batak music. In Batak music, Gondang Sabangunan has several functions and uniqueness, making the Sabangunan Gondang interesting to study. Aside from the function, the shape of Gondang Sabangunan is also important to investigate. The targets of this research are the shape and function of the ensemble Gondang Sabangunan Horas Rapolo Musik. Data was collected by observation, study of documents and interviews. A data analysis technique is done with the following steps: (1) data collection, (2) Reduction of data, (3) Presentation of Data, (4) Withdrawal Conclusions. The results showed that the shape of the composition of the ensemble Gondang Sabangunan Horas Rapolo music is no longer the same as the form of the existing arrangement in Tapanuli. In ensemble Gondang Sabangunan on Horas Rapolo Music has several functions, namely (1) the function of the disclosure emotional, (2) the function of the appreciation of ethnic, (3) the function of entertainment, (4) communication functions, (5) the function of symbolism, (6) function Raksi and physical, (7) functions related to social norms, (8) the attestation function of social institutions and religious ceremonies, (9) the function of cultural continuity and (10) the function penginteraksian society. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that this form of music in ensemble Gondang Sabangunan Horas Rapolo Musik is no longer the same as the structure of the instrument of yore. This is consistent with the development, where its always sarune formerly used as a melody on Gondang Sabangunan, at this point has been very rarely used.

Abstract

The significance of art education is providing an aesthetic experience to students. SMPN 27 Semarang is a school that implements ensemble music lesson through appreciation and expression approach so that students gain aesthetic experience of art education, especially in the matter of music ensembles. The purpose of this study was to: (1) describe the ensemble music lesson through the appreciation approach in SMPN 27 Semarang, (2) describe the ensemble music lesson through expression approach in SMPN 27 Semarang. The location and target of selected research, researcher are SMPN 27 Semarang is located in East Ngesrep street VI No. 4 Srondol Bumi Indah village Sumurboto Banyumanik District of Semarang. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study, which focused on the actual problems as such at the time of the research carried out. Data collection techniques used in this study are: observation, interview, and documentation. Criterion validity of qualitative data that the authors use in this study is the degree of confidence (credibility). In the results of this study are the material and the process of learning music ensemble through appreciation approach which students are encouraged to analyze musical ensemble performance by watching it together in the classroom and expression approaches which students are given the freedom of expression by playing simple arrangements songs Bagimu Negeri with an appreciation of each group in the class. The conclusions of this study were (1) the ensemble learning with a teacher appreciation approach refers to learning theory based on cognitivism, that learning can only occur when there is in the studied.The person's ability to learn, (2) through the teacher creation approach refers to the theories of learning according to the flow humanist, that each person determine their own behavior, student are free to choose according to their needs, not tied to the environment.

Abstract

Background of the final project is Hadroh music which is played modernly by Nurul Ikhwan in Pemalang regency, that is with addition of keyboard instrument in the music composition, so that the arrangement is more interested and varied. The problems of this final project are how to arrange Hadroh Nurul Ikhwan music in Pemalang regency and the analysis of Hadroh Nurul Ikhwan music in Pemalang regency. The objectives of the final project are to find out music arrangement of Hadroh Nurul Ikhwan in Pemalang regency and to find out the result of the analysis of Hadroh Nurul Ikhwan music in Pemalang regency. Qualitative with the musicologist approach is used in this final project. Based on the result of the research, Hadroh Nurul Ikhwan music has 4 structures, such as: introduction, song, interlude and coda. The type of arrangement that is used by Hadroh Nurul Ikhwan is mix arrangement. Result of the analysis Hadroh Nurul Ikhwan music. There are 3 kinds of rhythmic pattern which are played with rebana instrument. Those are Golong, Genjring and Tikah. Keyboard is used to fill chord or melody in the introduction, interlude, and coda in the song.

Abstract

Extracurricular choir aims to develop the talent of singing of the students, develop creative power, motivation, student attitudes that can lead to good interest.The problem studied in this research is how learning strategies extracurricular choir in SMP Negeri 2 Jepara? The purpose of this study was to determine and describe the learning strategy extracurricular choir in SMP Negeri 2 Jepara. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach. Data analysis using techniques: observation, interviews, and documentation. The data collected is then described, reduced (simplified), are presented and summarized in the form of words. The results showed that in 1991 became the origin of extracurricular choir in SMP Negeri 2 Jepara. Learning extracurricular choir with selecting participants include planning, preparing teaching materials, preparing the strategies that will be used, making the training schedule, and implement learning esktrakurikuler chorus along with the use of strategies and methods are good, true and correct. To enhance these activities, the needed infrastructure, preliminary activities, the submission of information, participation of learners, materials, training, and evaluation. Extracurricular choir in SMP Negeri 2 Jepara using expository teaching strategies, cooperative learning strategies and affective learning strategies. In practice, teacher deliver material with lectures, forming groups 3-4 and do the exercises in accordance with the material being taught vocal technique and practice, after it presented alternately in front of the other group.

Abstract

Music can be accepted by all people include children with special needs. Therefore, the authors are interested in researching on " Angklung as Expression Media for Deaf People in Sragen Sragen Extraordinary School". The purpose of this study was to determine and describe (1) the learning process angklung music for people with hearing impairment in Sragen Extraordinary School, and (2) function of angklung as a medium of expression for people with hearing impairment in Sragen Extraordinary School. The study was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods because researchers will conduct the process of observing, identifying the object of research, data collection and data analysis, interpret according to its parts and describe. Based on research, the learning process is carried out through three phase, there are: (1) preparation; (2) implementation; and (3) performing. Teacher preparation phase to prepare learning materials, which are used angklung, learning media (light tone), grouping students and ensure students preparation. Implementation phase consists of two activities, (1) teach how to hold the angklung; and (2) teach how to play angklung covering “krulung” techniques, and teach the grade of tone. In the performing phase, teacher build students mentality by involve students perform in front of many people. Learning as a medium of expression is done through experience with performing that includes the aspects of the performing arts, the motion aspect, the aspect of voice, visual aspects, and aspects of the offender. Factors that influence the expression of the performing, the internal factors and external factors.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menunjukan dan mendeskripsikan bentuk terapi musik perkusi yang digunakan untuk melatih motorik anak cerebral palsy di YPAC Semarang. Manfaat  dari  penelitian  ini  adalah  dapat  dijadikan  informasi  kepada  terapis,  sekolah,  dan masyarakat agar dapat memberikan langkah atau penanganan yang tepat bagi anak cerebral palsy dan dapat sebagai acuan dalam pnyempurnaan metode yang sudah ada. Metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan psikologi dan musikologi, sasaran penelitian terapis dan anak cerebral palsy. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumen, sedangkan  pemeriksaan  keabsahan data  yang digunakan triangulasi.  Analisis data  meliputi  tiga tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi.  Bentuk terapi musik perkusi yang digunakan dalam terapi motorik dibagi dua yaitu musik sumber bunyinya dari tubuh dan sumber bunyinya dari alat musik. Keduanya dibagi menjadi musik bernada dan  musik tak bernada, dan proses terapi musik perkusi dibagi menjadi tiga tahap, observasi, awal dan akhir. Musik tubuh bernada diajarkan melalui mulut. Musik tubuh tak bernada diajarkan melalui  bagian tubuh anak itu sendiri seperti tepuk tangan, tepuk paha dan hentakan kaki. Sedangkan alat musik bernada seperti angklung, belira, keyboard dan alat musik tak bernada diajarkan seperti  rebana, tamborin, snare drum  dan  simbal.  Proses  pelaksanaan  terapi  musik  menggunakan   cara  bervariasi.  Saat mengajarkan sebuah lagu, terapis memilih lagu bersifat edukatif dan  memancing intelegensi anak, seperti “suka hati injak bumi disertai hitungan”. Secara tidak langsung lagu tersebut memiliki unsur- unsur pelajaran seperti menghitung dan rangsangan untuk  melakukan gerak. Dalam proses terapi dipengaruhi beberapa faktor, cuaca, usia, mental intelegensi anak, tingkat kecacatan, emosi anak, dan orang tua.
