Abstract

Family is lasting a social group based on marriage and blood relations. The family plays an important role in the inheritance of the noble values of life for future generations. A healthy family will contribute to the development of a healthy society. This aims to find out the effect of the education system of family therapy on the prevention of violence in children. This research uses relevant Literature review which is reviewed following the search from 3 databases. They are ProQuest, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. The search year is limited to the last 5 years from 2014-2019 to ensure the latest included research, using the keyword "therapy family AND Communication AND violent behavior AND child”. This review identifies 6 articles based on inclusion criteria. The article uses a Quasi-experimental design which is 1 article, 3 systematic reviews, and integrative review, 1 quantitative, 1 qualitative, randomized controlled trial. Of the 6 articles selected, 3 articles focus on violent behavior in children and adolescents and 3 articles focus on family communication towards children. Family therapy is the family to learn how to keep a healthy family relationship, communicate effectively with family members, and work cooperatively to solve family problems. This type of therapy is unique because the problem is seen through a wider lens and as part of a complex family system. Communication in the family becomes better when each family member can express what they don’t like and their desires to other family members and then find a solution together

Abstract

Public knowledge concerning health, particularly the management of medicinal plants in both community and household settings, remains limited. Enhancing knowledge can be achieved through various interventions, such as focus group discussions (FGDs). This study aims to examine the impact of FGD education on improving the understanding of Butterfly Pea Flowers (Clitoria ternatea) and Red Guava Leaves (Psidium guajava L.) management on health cadres’ knowledge in Srimartani Village, Piyungan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The research is categorized as a quasi-experimental group pre- and post-test, with a sample size of 14 participants from the female farmer group (known as Kelompok Wanita Tani/KWT in Indonesia) chosen via purposive sampling. The FGD education consisted of the opening, implementation, and closing phases, while data analysis employed a questionnaire and quantitative research techniques utilizing the Wilcoxon test (alpha = 0.05). The findings revealed that the average knowledge scores of the respondents increased from 7.43 to 20.64 after the FGD educational intervention. The Wilcoxon test yielded a p-value of 0.001, indicating a significant effect of FGD education on the management of butterfly pea flowers and red guava leaves. Therefore, FGD education demonstrated a noteworthy influence on knowledge of Clitoria ternatea and Psidium guajava management in Srimartani Village, Piyungan, Bantul, and Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Nurses have challenges in caring for patients during Covid-19. This research contributed to identifying the experiences of nurses while caring for patients with Covid-19. This phenomenological qualitative research was done at Tasikmalaya in September–October 2021. The participants involved were the nurses who worked in a Covid-19 referral hospital. Among the participants involved, samples were selected purposively, obtaining 8 participants. Furthermore, data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews via Zoom meetings and observation. Data that have been collected were further analyzed using Creswell. As a result, four themes emerged, including the role of the nurse as a caregiver, procedures for handling COVID-19 patients, treatment provided for COVID-19 patients, and support from hospital management and families for the nurses. It was then summed up that the nurses are professional and fully responsible in providing nursing care while treating COVID-19 patients, although they are afraid and anxious of being contracted with COVID-19 patients. Conclusion This study provides an overview of the experiences of nurses when providing care to patients, motivation, among others, the obstacles experienced at work, support from those closest to them, and how participants adapt in providing care to patients with COVID-19 and then nurses are professional and fully responsible in providing nursing care while treating the Covid-19 patients. Nurses need support from other parties so that they can have strong motivation while providing nursing care.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is a deadly infectious disease worldwide. The annual number of global TB sufferers seeking treatment has increased from around 6 million people in 2015 to 7.1 million people in 2019. Geographically, most TB cases occurred in the Southeast Asian region, one of which is Indonesia. Many factors affect the success and compliance with treatment programs, including knowledge, attitudes, perceptions, and individual motivation. Increased knowledge can lead to changes in one's perceptions, attitudes, or habits. This research contribution analyzes the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and motivation with compliance to taking anti-tuberculosis medication in pulmonary TB patients at RSUD Dr. Soekardjo, Tasikmalaya City. Furthermore, this research is a descriptive analytical-correlational research with a cross-sectional approach. The sample of this study was 60 respondents (aged 20-80 years) consisting of outpatients at the TB Polyclinic at RSUD Dr. Soekardjo in October-November 2022. The instrument used to measure the variables of knowledge, attitudes, motivation, and medication compliance is a questionnaire. The relationship between the variables was carried out using the Chi-Square statistical test. Based on the research results, it was obtained that 95% (57) of the respondents had good knowledge, 73% (44) of the respondents had good attitude, 72% (43) had good motivation, and 51.7% (31) of the respondents were adherent in taking medication. Furthermore, based on the results of statistical analysis using the Chi-Square test it showed that attitude and motivation variables were not significantly related to medication compliance (p-value >0.05), while the level of knowledge was significantly related to medication compliance (p-value < 0.05). It was further concluded that the level of knowledge of the respondents shows a significant relationship with compliance to taking OAT medication at Dr. Sukarno Hospital.
