Abstract

The low mathematical literacy of students, particularly in statistics, poses a challenge in mathematics education. This study aims to develop an interactive gamification-based learning media, S-MATCHA (Statistic from Mathematics of Gacha), which integrates Islamic values to enhance students' mathematical literacy. The research employs a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ASSURE model, which includes analyzing student characteristics, formulating learning objectives, selecting methods and media, as well as implementation and evaluation. This media focuses on data collection topics such as mean, median, mode, and range. The effectiveness of the media was tested through a limited experiment involving ninth-grade students at MTsN Kota Batu, utilizing a pre-test and post-test design. The validity results indicate that S-MATCHA is highly suitable for use, with average scores of 89.15% from subject matter experts, 97.3% from media experts, and 95% from practitioners. The practicality of the media was also rated very well. Experimental results showed an improvement in students' mathematical literacy, with an N-Gain score of 0.45, which falls into the moderate category. These findings suggest that S-MATCHA is effective in supporting learning and providing meaningful experiences through the integration of Islamic values, making it an innovative alternative for context-based mathematics education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the paradigm shift of teachers in performance management through the Merdeka Mengajar Platform. In line with the advancement of technology and evolving educational policies, especially in the era of digital transformation, Merdeka Mengajar Platform has become a key platform for teachers to enhance the quality of learning. This research employs a qualitative approach with case studies from several schools that have implemented the platform. The data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis related to the implementation of Merdeka Mengajar Platform in classrooms. The findings indicate that the use of this platform encourages teachers to adapt to technology-based learning approaches, focusing on autonomy, innovation, and the enhancement of professional skills. Teachers have started managing their performance more efficiently, developing more creative teaching methods, and becoming more responsive to students' needs. This paradigm shift also impacts time management and learning evaluation, making them more flexible and data-driven. Thus, the study concludes that Merdeka Mengajar Platform not only facilitates teachers in managing their performance but also significantly contributes to improving the quality of education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to explore the participation of teachers and students in decision-making processes at SMA Negeri 4 Tanjung Jabung Timur. A qualitative approach, utilizing a case study method, was employed to examine the communication dynamics within the school, incorporating in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that teacher and student participation in decision-making remains limited, with decisions often dominated by school management without substantial input from either group. Teachers expressed that their suggestions were rarely considered, while students reported similar experiences, particularly concerning extracurricular activities. Communication barriers such as the absence of formal discussion forums and inadequate policy dissemination were also noted. Additionally, the use of communication technology at the school was mostly restricted to administrative notifications, rather than facilitating inclusive two-way discussions. The study identified several factors contributing to this low participation, including centralized leadership, limited opportunities for dialogue, and a communication culture that does not actively support engagement. To improve participation, the study recommends strategies such as increasing formal discussion forums, leveraging technology for interactive communication, and adopting more inclusive leadership practices. These strategies are expected to enhance teacher and student involvement in decision-making, fostering a more democratic and collaborative school environment.
