Abstract

It is estimated that around 40,000-70,000 children become victims of sexual exploitation and about 100,000 children are trafficked each year. It clearly proves the children’s lack of knowledge about sex education they should have gained in their first year from their caregivers, in this case their mothers. Entering the age of 1-2, children’s curiosity and ability to speak and to remember begin to increase quite well. This is the right time to continuously enrich their vocabularies and hone their ability to remember and speak by introducing body parts like hair, nose, knees, heels, and so on. Autism is a term used to describe a type of pervasive disorder in a child resulting in a disturbance or delay in cognition, language, behavior, communication and social interaction. Providing education and understanding is a special challenge for caregivers. This study illustrates how the role performed and displayed by the caregiver (mother) of autistic individuals in introducing the parts of body. The method used in the study is a qualitative method with case study approach by conducting observation and interview with the caregiver of autistic children. The result of the study indicates that the full role of caregiver (mother) produces autistic children with independent behavior. They can understand their body parts, maintain the hygiene of body parts and understand what body parts that may be touched and not

Abstract

This research was experiment used survey method using Korelasional analysis techniques. Results of the study explained that the motivation of learning provide positive influence toward learning math achievements marked by the acquisition of koefesien determination R2 = 0.483 of significance that 48.3% of achievement can learn math variable explained by the motivation to learn. Numerical intelligence provide positive influence toward learning math achievements marked by the acquisition of the coefficient determination R2 of 0.616 has significance that 61.6% achievement learning math can be explained by the variable numeric Intelligence students. Learning motivation and numerical intelligence together gave a positive influence towards the achievements of the students learn math which is characterized by the coefficient of determination (R) 2 of 0.824 82.4%  meaning the accomplishment of learning math can described by the learning motivation variables and numerical intelligence together

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ialah untuk menganalisis jargon dan interferensi bahasa yang terdapat dalam sinetron remaja dan implikasinya terhadap cerpen siswa. Adapun unsur yang dianalisis ialah jargon dan interferensi bahasa, baik yang terjadi pada bidang fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, dan leksikal. Metode yang digunakan ialah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik menganalis isi cerpen yang dibuat siswa. Cerpen yang dibuat siswa merupakan hasil menonton sinetron remaja. Hasil dari cerpen tersebut dapat dilihat sejauh mana implikasi sinetron terhadap penggunaan jargon dan interferensi bahasa yang digunakan siswa. Setelah dianalisis, ditemukan penggunaan jargon yang tidak terlalu banyak, sedangkan untuk interferensi cenderung pada penggunaan interferensi leksikal. Sampel dalam penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas XI sekolah menengah atas swasta di Jakarta Selatan, yaitu SMA Perguruan Rakyat 1, SMA Kartika, dan SMA Darul Maarif. Hasil penelitian di antaranya: 1) terdapat penggunaan jargon pada cerpen siswa, 2) terdapat interferensi bahasa pada cerpen yang dibuat siswa dan jenis interferensi yang sering terjadi yaitu pada tataran interferensi leksikal ketika siswa lebih senang menggunakan istilah atau bahasa Inggris, 3) bahasa gaul ini adalah bahasa yang tidak mengikuti kaidah dan aturan yang berlaku dan lebih banyak digunakan secara lisan dari pada tulisan, serta 4) sinetron memberi sumbangsih terhadap penggunaan jargon dan interferensi bahasa pada cerpen siswa.

Abstract

Although Indonesian Government has established a policy on the necessity of integrating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into school teaching to enhance the quality of education, there is still a concern that ICT utilization is not as mandated by the government. This study investigates the use of ICT in English teaching based on the perceptions of teachers and students in International-Standard School Pilot Project (RSBI). The data collected through questionnaires, observations and interviews in three High Schools and three Vocational Schools with RSBI certification in Padang are from the first semester of 2011/2012. The result shows the application of ICT in teaching English is only to access information and not to communicate. Also, the lack of supporting infrastructure is still the main barrier to the use of ICT in English teaching. Nevertheless, teachers and students agree that ICT is very useful for teaching English. Besides, this study finds the implementation of blended learning in Vocational Schools through an online, government-funded learning program DynEd.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to determine the effect of and interaction between chemistry learning with web-based learning models using moodle and blog on the cognitive learning outcomes of students class grade X on chemical bond material in terms of the self-directed learning (SDL) ability of different students. This research uses a quasi-experimental research design, namely the posttest-only non equivalent control group. Sampling is conducted applying cluster random sampling technique. The research data are student’s learning outcomes collected using the instrument in the form of objective test consisting of 35 questions related to chemical bond material with the content validity of 81.8% (very high). The reliability coefficient calculated using the KR-21 is 0.88 (valid and reliable). Test of the hypothesis is conducted by using two-wayANOVA in SPSS16 statistics program for Windows. The results of the research show that: (1) there is no difference in cognitive learning outcomes of students learning with web-based learning models using either blog or moodle media; (2) there is a difference in cognitive learning outcomes of students in terms of the self-directed learning ability of students learning either with a blog or moodle media; (3) there is an interaction of the learning model and self-directed learning ability with  cognitive learning outcomes of students.

Abstract

The research, entitled "Speech Act and Function of Expressives in a program Rumah Perubahan Rhenald Kasali", is intended to describe the use of speech actin the form of locutionary, illocutionary, perlocutionary acts and the use of expressives to congratulate, thank, criticize, complain, wonder, praise and apologize by speakers to interlocutors in a program Rumah Perubahan Rhenald Kasali. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method with observing, recording and taking note techniques. Based on the result of the research, there are 10 speech acts and 11 expressives found in the program,with the speech act consisting of 3 locutionary acts, 2 illocutionary acts and 5 perlocutinary acts and with the expressive including 2 expressions of congratulating, 2 expressions of thanking, 1 expression of criticizing, 1 expression of complaining, 2 expressions of wondering, 2 expressions ofpraising and 1 expression of apologizing.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how much influence mathematics learning achievement can be increased in terms of students' critical thinking and self-concept. The subjects of the study were Junior High School Students 34 23 and 42 in Pademangan, North Jakarta. The number of samples of 90 people with each sample of each school as many as 30 people. Data analysis using descriptive statistics method and test technique requirement of data analysis. The results showed (1). there is a significant direct influence of the ability of critical thinking and self-concept to the achievement of learning mathematics Students where the magnitude of the influence of the ability to think criticism of learning achievement are, (2). There is a significant influence of self-concept on learning achievement where the influence of self concept to learning achievement, (3). The direct influence of critical thinking ability on student self concept where the influence of critical thinking ability to self concept. (1). The better the students' critical thinking skills the higher the learning achievement achieved in the mathematics lesson. (2). The better the student's self concept in the math lesson the better the achievement. (3). A good environment, educated teachers and parents who can make children more confident and able to think critically is a form of motivation that aims to improve mathematics learning achievement.

Abstract

Understanding or comprehension is the ability of a person to fully understand something based on the situation, concept, and facts he has. Understanding is knowledge achieved through the process of understanding something. The level of understanding depends on the appropriate existing ideas and the establishment of new relationships between ideas. In mathematics, increasing understanding of concepts can be done using the PMRI learning model. Therefore, teachers must find a realistic problem related to learning materials and students’ daily life. This research aims to find out the effect of a learning model on the understanding of mathematical concepts. The research is an experimental study with samples of 60 testees. The hypothesis testing technique used is a one-way t test which consists of one independent variable, which is the learning model, and one dependent variable, which is the understanding of mathematical concepts. This research is carried out in Central Jakarta Public Senior High School, DKI Jakarta in 2015. From the research results, it can be concluded that there is an insignificant effect of a learning model on the understanding of mathematical concepts

Abstract

Ejaan merupakan satu aspek yang penting dalam penggunaan bahasa Indonesia yang benar. Dalam sejarah perkembangan bahasa Indonesia telah terjadi beberapa kali perubahan aturan ejaan. Dua yang terakhir ialah yang disebut Ejaan yang Disempurnakan (EYD) dan Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia (PUEBI). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan antara EYD dan PUEBI. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah metode kepustakaan untuk mendapatkan analisis komparatif. Dari perbandingan dua ejaan mutakhir ini didapat hasil bahwa antara EYD dan PUEBI terdapat banyak sekali perubahan. Perubahan itu bisa berupa penambahan, penghilangan, pengubahan, dan pemindahan klausul.
