Abstract

The effect of binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Stennisleaves extract ethanol on pH and gastric ulcers in female rats were induced by 1 ml/200 gram body weight by oral admistration. The parameter taken to asses antiulcer activity were change of gastric acid pH and ulcer index to normal condition. The result indicated that the binahong leaves extract at doses of 30 mg, 100 mg and 300 mg/Kg BB body weight significantly decreased the ulcer index with curative ratio were 38.62 %, 52.41 % and 57.01 % (for one daily of extracts for two days), 60.84 %, 78.74 % and 82.32 % (for one daily of extracts for four days) and 79.91 %, 93.86 % and 95.98 % (for one daily of extracts for two days) with respect to control group. The extracts at 30 mg, 10 mg and 300 mg/Kg BB body weigth also significanthy decreased the gastric acid pH to its normal value (P<0.05).

Abstract

The study of physical and chemical stability of solid dispersion ketoprofen-PVP K-30 has been studied. The solid dispersions system were prepared by solvent method with several variation amount. Ketoprofen-PVP K-30 was evaluated by its physicochemical properties using the Differential Thermal Gravimetric (DTG), FT-IR spectroscopy and dissolution profiles. This study used an accelerated stability test at temperature (40±2)˚C for 3 months. The test include organoleptic test and ketoprofen content. Ketoprofen content were measured by UV spectrophotometer at 255.5 nm, respectively, after were stored for 1, 2 and 3 months at a temperature (40±2)˚C. The analysis of DTG showed endothermic peak friction ketoprofen is significant. FT-IR spectra indicated no chemical interaction between ketoprofen-PVP K-30 in the solid dispersion. The result showed that solid dispersion of ketoprofen with PVP K-30 gave a good physicochemical characterization of ketoprofen and could improve the dissolution rate of ketoprofen. Formula 3 of solid dispersion shown  the highest dissolution rate at 30 minute (82.657%) ( not less than 80%). The chemical and physical stability of solid dispersion of ketoprofen-PVP K-30, indicating change in the physics and chemistry of solid dispersions. The organoleptic test also showed discoloration of the three formulas and third assay formula showed that increasing the concentration of PVP-K-30 in the solid dispersion will lead to decreased content of ketoprofen. In addition, the most stable formula is a formula 1 with a ratio of 1:1 which resulted usage of 29 months.

Abstract

The antimicrobial activity of endophytes microbe that symbiosis with mangosteen had been carried out. There were 12 fungal’s  isolates and 14 bacterial’s isolates had been isolated from cortex, lief, and pericarp of Garcinia mangostana L. Each fungal’s isolates were fermented in Soybean Extract Broth liquid medium for 1 week at on a rotary shaker incubator at a 25-270 C and 90 rpm speed. Each bacterial’s isolates were fermented in water corn soaked medium for 24 hours on a rotary shaker incubator at 300C and 120 rpm speed. Fermented fungal’s and bacterial’s were tested their antimicrobial’s activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans with agar diffusion methode. The result showed that J-G1 (Candida sp) and J-T1 (Candida sp) were fungal’s isolates that ware active against Escherichia coli with inhibition diameter 10 mm. J-H1 (Curvularis sp), J-G2 (Candida sp), J-T1 (Candida sp) were fungal’s isolates that were active against Staphylococcus aureus with inhibition diameter 9 mm, 11 mm and 13 mm respectively. B-T2 (Klebsiella sp)and B-K51 (Bacillus sp1) were bacterial’s isolates that were active againts Escherichia coli with inhibition diameter 13 mm and 18 mm respectively. B-H (Bacillus sp2), B-G (Bacillus sp2), B-P1 (Bacillus sp1), B-K101(Bacillus sp1) and B-K102 (Bacillus sp1) were bacterial’s isolates that were active againts Staphylococcus aureus with inhibition diameter 11 mm, 14 mm, 15 mm, 16 mm and 15 mm respectively.

Abstract

The solubilization of dextromethorphan hydrobromide using Tween 80 and Span 80 has been studied. CMC’s value of Tween 80 and Span 80 are determined by surface tension method using Du Nouy Tensiometer and refractive index method using ABBE refractometer. The solubility of dextromethorphan hydrobromide using Tween 80 and Span 80 was evaluated at concentrations below the CMC point, above the CMC point and at CMC point. CMC’s value of Tween 80 and Span 80 respectively are 5,9 µg/mL and 6,3µg/mL. The solubility of dextromethorphan hydrobromide using Tween 80 was greater than Span 80 at concentration above the CMC’s value.

Abstract

Has done research about the teratogenic effects ethanol of extract test patikan Kebo leaves (Euphorbia hirta L.) concerning to fetal white mice. Animal experiments were grouped into 4 groups consisting of group I as  negative control given only 0.5% suspension of Na CMC, group II, group III and group IV was given the ethanol extract of patikan kebo leaves with variations dose of 25 mg / kg BW, 50 mg / kg BW, and 100 mg / kg BW once a day from day 6 to day 15 of pregnancy. 18th day of pregnancy mice dilaparaktomi. Dose of 25 mg / kg BW, dose of 50 mg / kg BW did not cause teratogenic effects. Teratogenic effect was found at dose of 100 mg/kg BW there was the discovery of defects cleft palate. The results showed the ethanol extract of patikan kebo leaves not affected weight gain parent mice were significantly (p> 0.05) when compared to the negative control. Amount of fetuses were significantly reduced (p <0.05) when compared to the negative control. Fetal weight showed no significant effect (p> 0.05) if compared with negative controls.

Abstract

A study concerning the manufacture of calcium gluconate limestone hill Tui Leopold. Previous limestone samples were identified and determined the levels of calcium. 1 g sample of limestone calcium levels obtained 36,0812 %. In the manufacture of calcium gluconate used limestone samples of 20 g were dissolved in 6 M HCl, filtered and the filtrate was added 6 M NH4OH to pH 10 . Then added gluconic acid 1 M. The precipitate is filtered, washed, dried in an oven at a temperature of 1050 C. The results obtained as 6,2084 g of calcium gluconate. Examination of limestone calcium gluconate include organoleptic examination, solubility, qualitative identification, examination and the melting point of the assay by the method complexometry. In the assay of calcium gluconate from the manufacture of natural limestone samples carefully weighed approximately 0,5 g , 1 g, and 2 g. Of the three differences in weight percentage of calcium gluconate calcium results obtained, weighing 0,5 g to as much as 62,2708 % , 1 g weight as much as 79,9048 %, while the weight of as much as 2 g 101,7232 %. From the results of the assay of calcium gluconate with a sample of 6,2084 g drying results have percentage 101,7232 % with the results of testing the melting point is 2000 C calcium gluconate. It can be concluded natural limestone hill Tui Leopold has a high purity calcium levels that can be made of calcium gluconate.

Abstract

Study about the influence of the aethanolic extract of Annona muricata L on male mice induced by high fat diet and propylthiouracil has been done. The aethanolic extract of Annona muricata L was given orally one a day for 7, 14, and 21 days. The doses used were 2, 6, 18 mg/20 g body weight respectively. Negative control group was given standard food. Parameters were measured blood levels of LDL. Result showed that the giving of the aethonalic extract of Annona muricata could decrease blood levels of LDL significantly (p> 0.05). Whereas the factors of the days does not show significantly (p> 0.05).

Abstract

The research on preparation and characterization of dried leaves extract of simplicia sambiloto (Andrograpgis paniculata Nees.) has been done. The dry extract is made by adding various ratio of lactose, which is the ratio of the extract and drying with lactose 1x viscous extract (F1), 1½ x viscous extract (F2) and 2x viscous extract (F3). The name of the extract is Extractum Andrographis paniculata Nees. Siccum. The extract was in the form of dry powder, brownish green, tasteless with a very bitter taste. Levels of water soluble extract was 97,2472% ± 0,4598%, while levels of ethanol soluble extract 15,3012 ± 0,2594%.

Abstract

The research about the effect of aerosil to the dissolution rate of isoniazid tablet with direct compression method has been done. Isoniazid tablets were made with different aerosil consentration in each formulas, that is 0.5%; 1%; 1.5%. Tablet evaluation were done by measuring drug loading assay and dissolution test using HCl 0.1 N. The assay was measured using spectrophotometer UV at 266.5nm; where obtained levels of isoniazid tablets in each formulas is 95.779% - 103.776%. The results of disolution test showed that every formulas reached the 80% of cumulatif persentage as follows, 98.671%; 98.441%; 98.327% at 45th minutes. The result concluded that the addition of execessive aerosil as lubricant can decreased tablet disintegration rate and dissolution rate.

Abstract

Drug interactions are interactions that occur when a drug is altered by the effects of other drugs, food, or beverages. Drug interactions can cause a reduction in effects of therapeutic, increasing of toxicity or pharmacological activity that is not expected whereas according to its severity, it is divided into major, moderate and minor. From the results of "Analysis of Drug Interactions V-Stage Renal Failure (On Hemodyalisis) from Recipe at Instalation of Pharmacy Pelabuhan Hospital Jakarta", It can be concluded that the number of male patients more than female patients as many as 10 people. In this study the highest of comorbidity was diabetes mellitus at 35.25 % while the largest of the other disease except renal failure in 5-stage on HD was diabetes mellitus at 35.25%.  During this study, there was 165 cases and among them only 13 cases or 7.3 % experienced the interaction of drug. Most of cases were pharmacokinetic interaction which had 9 cases and the average of severity was minor at 8 cases.
