Abstract

Has conducted research of the preparation Cocor Bebek plants as raw materials for corrosion test by using two methods of extraction are maceration and partition. Maceration process is done by using methanol, which will then be concentrated by using a rotary evaporator to produce concentrated methanol extract. The next stage is the process of partitioning using a solvent n-hexane and ethyl acetate, and of the steps that have been made, from the fresh leaves Cocor Bebek generated as much as 10.3 kg of concentrated methanol extract as much as 65.7442 g, n-hexane extract as much as 36.1452 g, and the ethyl acetate extract as much as 15.2711 g.

Abstract

A triterpenoid tetrahydroxy of 3.1 mg has been isolated from the butanol extract of Centella asiatica. Separation and purification were performed using several stages of column chromatography, and identification was performed by taking the proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum (NMR-1H). The spectral data of NMR-1H isolate F6.1 indicates the presence of signals at a chemical shift (δ in ppm) 0.89 (d, J = 6.35 Hz), 0.94 (d, J = 6.35 Hz), 1.05 (s), 1.06 (s), 2 CH3, 1.12 (s), 2 hydroxy methylene protons at δ 3.78 (t; J = 4.88 Hz), and 3.99 (t J = 4.88 Hz), 3 methyl protons attached to the hydroxylated carbon each at δ 4.24 (m), 4.22 (m), and 3.72 (d; J = 10.7 Hz) Based on RMI-1H spectrum data it can be proposed that isolate F6.1 is brahmic acid, 2α, 3β, 6β, 23-tetrahydroxy-28-oat-12en.

Abstract

Modification of TiO2 photocatalyst with SiO2 absorbent has been performed. Modification is done by immobilizing SiO2 into TiO2. Photocatalyst of TiO2-SiO2 result from immobilization, then analyzed using SEM-EDS instrument. The analysis was performed to see the immobilized silica. The results of the analysis showed that the silica content of 47.90% immobilized on TiO2 photocatalyst.

Abstract

This investigation was carried out in order to synthesize ferrate (FeO42-) and was applied to the degradation of the food coloring agent of tartrazine. The synthesis of ferrate is carried out by the reaction of Fe(NO3)3 and NaOCl as oxidants in alkaline conditions. The synthesis was monitored using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer and resulted in a wavelength of 510 nm. The resulting ferrate is crystallized using KCl. The resulting crystals are potassium ferrate of 0.977 g. The angle of potassium ferrate 2q is measured with X-ray diffraction (XRD), which produces an angle of 2q of 28,480. Potassium ferrate was applied to degrade the tartrazine dye that was controlled using the UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The effect of several parameters on the tartrazine dye that degrades the reaction, such as the pH and the molar ratio of ferrate and tartrazine, was also studied in this study. The results showed that ferrate can degrade tartrazine at pH 9.6 with the highest degradation present in the molar ratio of ferrate and tartrazine 1: 5 which is 98.45%. This suggests that ferrate are an alternative and environmentally friendly substance that can be used to degrade tartrazine dye.

Abstract

Research has been conducted on the extraction of cocor bebek leaves using organic solvents with various levels of solvent polarity. This is done to obtain which solvent has a corrosion inhibitor activity in the hydrochloric acid environment, where five fractions are obtained, namely n-hexane, ethyl acetate, acetone, acetic acid, and methanol. Based on quantitative analysis of cocor bebek leaf extract in variations in the polarity of solvents using a spectrophotometer with a wavelength of 511nm. The flavonoid content in cocor bebek leaf extract produced using acetone solvent showed the highest yield. Corrosion rate of carbon steel in 0.1M HCl solution; 0.05M; 0.01M with the addition of cocor bebek leaf extract decreased as the concentration of extract increased and reached the lowest decrease in the addition of extracts in acetone solvent around 200 ppm with a corrosion rate of 42.18 mpy in 0.1M HCl solution and at an increase in extract concentration there was a decrease does not show a significant reduction in corrosion rate. For 0.05M HCl solution and 0.01m concentration showed a decrease in corrosion rate until the addition of 1500 ppm extract. The results of the extract using acetone solvent showed the corrosion rate of carbon steel in 0.1M HCl solution; 0.05M; and 0.01M lower than the extract results with other solvents (ethyl acetate, methanol, and 5% acetic acid).

Abstract

Nowadays the need for antioxidants is increasing. Advances in technology and sciences encourage an increase in the number of free radicals and oxidizing compounds. This study aims to measure the total antioxidant content of the ethanolic extract of beringin (Ficus benjamina Linn.) fruit. Measurement of total antioxidant capacity begins with extraction by maceration. The freshly picked banyan fruit is macerated using 95% ethanol for 3 × 24 hours. Maceration is carried out at room temperature and kept away from sunlight. The macerated filtrate is then evaporated to get a thick ethanol extract. The ethanol extract was then measured for its antioxidant ability using phosphomolybdenum assay. Measurement using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The measurement results showed the antioxidant activity of ethanol extract is 43.73 mg / gram AAE.

Abstract

Coal fly ash waste contains metal oxides, one of which is silica. The presence of silica in coal fly ash allows the waste to be used directly as an adsorbent. The use of silica contained in coal fly ash can be carried out maximally by silica purification. Silica purification by extracting silica from coal fly ash aims to minimize unnecessary metal oxide levels (impurities). Analysis of silica content carried out before and after the extraction process aims to determine the levels of silica compared to other metal oxides. The procedure is done, namely sieving to separate samples from impurity material, then analyzing using SEM-EDS instruments, and then proceed with the silica extraction process. The results of the analysis showed a greater percentage of silica (SiO2) content of 67.68% compared to Al2O3 of 16.80%; while the extracted silica content was 80.42%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to measure the levels of protein, fat, fiber, carbohydrates, water and ash, in meat flour from pumpkin fruit. Pumpkin is a nutrient-rich food needed by humans. Consumer knowledge of the nutritional content of pumpkin fruit which is still minimal makes pumpkin fruit categorized as a minor food commodity. This research was carried out using laboratory analysis methods with the following stages, determination and sampling, sample preparation, protein content analysis of the gunning method, fat content with the soxhlet method, method fiber content SNI 01-2891-1992, carbohydrate content and water content and ash by oven drying method. The results showed that pumpkin from yellow pumpkin had a protein content of 4.28%, 0.18% fat, 0.93% fiber, 83.18% carbohydrate, 6.75% water and ash 4.68%. The results of this study concluded that pumpkin fruit flour can be made as food fortification ingredients to increase the nutritional value of food ingredients.

Abstract

Determination of dissolution heat reaction of copper sulfate hydrate, CuSO4.5H2O and copper sulfate anhydrous, CuSO4 using a calorimeter prototype was carried out. The initial stage is carried out by measuring the calorimeter constant and then measuring the heat of copper sulphate dissolution using Hess's Law to determine the heat of reaction indirectly. The results obtained by the dissolution reaction reaction of copper sulfate CuSO4.5H2O and copper sulfate anhydrous CuSO4 respectively were 723,318 J and 748,26 J.
