Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in learning motivation, problem-solving skills, and concept mastery between grade V students who use the guided inquiry learning model and students who use the lecturing method. This research was a quantitative study using the weak experiment method. The data collection in this study was carried out by rubric and test. Technique of data analysis in this study was descriptive and inferential. By descriptive, the data analysis was carried out by counting the score average and n-gain, while by inferensial the data analysis was carried out in non-parametric method using Mann Whitney test to prove the hypothesis. The results of the learning motivation hypothesis test show asymp. sig (2-tailed) = 0.000, problem solving skills with asymp. sig (2-tailed) = 0.011, and concept mastery with asymp. sig (2-tailed) = 0.002. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that there are differences between the class at SD XYZ Tangerang that employ the guided inquiry learning model and class that employ the lecturing method in terms of learning motivation, problem-solving abilities, and concept mastery.

Abstract

Learning implementation practically changes. Students are no longer the object of learning. The success of education is also determined by the teachers’ quality. If teachers can understand the process of acquiring knowledge, then they can determine appropriate learning strategies or methods, one of which is guided inquiry. Guided inquiry is a method that involves students actively discovering concepts independently. Research objective was to determine the implementation effect of the guided inquiry method on science learning outcomes in grade 5th of MI Al-Ghozali Surabaya. This research used quantitative methods. The research population was 39 students. The sampling technique used non-probability sampling. Data collection used interview sheets and tests. The data analysis used Pearson product moment and t-table test. The results showed, value of t-table 37 was 1.68. This shows t-count>t-table = 1.91>1.68. So Ho was accepted and it stated that there was an increase in student learning outcomes. Besides, rxy is bigger than r-table = 0.33617>0.316. It can be concluded that the guided inquiry method has a low effect on increasing student learning outcomes. This is also supported by the results of the coefficient of determination 11.3%, the remaining 88.7% (100% -11.3%) is influenced by other variables which were not examined by researchers.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the Project Based Learning model to science learning outcomes at SD Negeri Mranggen 3. This research was a quasi-experimental design study with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The sample in this study were students of class IVA and IVB. Data collection was carried out by means of tests and non-tests. Data analysis techniques with normality, homogeneity, and t-test. The research results obtained from the initial data stated that the sample came from a population that was normally distributed and homogeneous. The requirements test using the t-test yields tcount = 2.444 and the coefficient is significant at the 5% level and db = 48, so ttable = 2.011 so the value of tcount > ttable. It can be concluded that the learning outcomes in class IV SD Negeri Mranggen 3 after using the Project Based Learning model are better than learning outcomes using conventional models.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the Problem based learning model assisted by Interactive Learning Media on the ability to think critically mathematically in fifth grade students of SDN Berahan Wetan, Demak. This type of research is Quantitative. The population in the study were 26 students in class V SDN Berahan Wetan. The method used is True-Experimental Design, the samples taken were 26 students who were divided into two groups, namely the control group and the experimental group using random sampling technique. The results of the analysis using the t-test. The research used was a pretest-posttest control design. Based on the results of the analysis of research data after receiving the treatment of the Problem based learning Model with the Assistance of Interactive Learning Media on Mathematical Critical Thinking, it showed an increase in fifth grade students at SDN Berahan Wetan 1 Demak. From the calculation results obtained tcount>ttable, namely 32.67 >2.16, so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that the average value of students' mathematical critical thinking abilities after using the problem-based learning model assisted by interactive media is greater than the average before using problem-based learning model.

Abstract

Dyslexic reading skills in children with learning difficulties are based on obstacles in reading and spelling. This research focuses on how the teacher's efforts in teaching dyslexic reading skills in children with learning difficulties This research method uses descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection techniques triangulation techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. The subjects of this research using purposive sampling technique are fifth grade teacher, special assistant teacher, principal, and parents. The results showed that the reading ability of grade V dyslexia included an increase in reading ability which initially only syllables now increased to words. The Special Assistance Teacher's efforts towards dyslexic reading skills in children with learning difficulties are carried out by giving attention and motivation to dyslexic children, fostering a sense of enthusiasm in learning, and providing rewards and additional grades to students who have improved in reading.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the use of concrete media for the activeness of student learning in mathematics learning grade IIb SD Supriyadi 02 Semarang. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. This study used observation and interview techniques in data collection. The results showed that students actively learn in learning mathematics using concrete objects. In mathematics learning, learners are interested and learners are engaged in learning, as well as listening more and paying attention to what the teacher is conveying. This in learning situations shows an active, creative, and fun atmosphere. Active, creative, and fun learning if carried out continuously, it can increase students' interest in mathematics learning so that learning will be achieved. It is hoped that researchers can provide theoretical as well as practical benefits for the development of education, especially those related to the development of education in elementary schools. Learners can be seen listening to math learning in earnest. Based on the results of observations and interviews, students pay attention, listen, write, actively ask and answer, and do problems so that students feel happy in learning using concrete media in mathematics learning.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to find the strength of the character education of honesty and responsibility of students at SD Negeri Pedurungan Lor 02 Semarang, the efforts made by the school and parents to increase the strength of honest character and responsibility through morning habituation. The type of research conducted is qualitative research with the results written containing a report of data quotations to provide a presentation of the results. The research was conducted at SD N Pedurungan lor 02 Semarang with the subject of 4th-grade students and teachers. Data collection techniques were taken from interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study are the implementation of strengthening integrity character education through morning habits according to the plans made by the teacher. The teacher checks the contents of the attendance board that has been provided. The teacher also communicates well in determining rules and sanctions for students if they violate them, while parents monitor children's activities at home when doing habituation activities. To make students honest and responsible for what they do, teachers and parents have strategies to improve the characters by giving rewards or strict sanctions if they violate them.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Gerak Dakon Wayang learning media on FPB KPK mathematics for grade IV, to improve students' problem-solving abilities and analyze the validity and suitability of learning media. The R&D method by Borg and Gall uses 6 steps; potentials and problems, data collection, product design, expert validation, design revision, and product testing. The subjects in this study are fourth grade at SDN Pajomblangan. Data were analyzed qualitatively from the results of interviews with teachers, students and quantitatively analyzed from the point of view of teachers, students, media experts, and material experts. The results of the study concluded that learning media complies with the Borg and Gall procedures to obtain criteria suitable for use. The media design uses a wooden box measuring which contains 40 small partitions equipped with tajo wayang as dakon seeds and material books and instructions for use. This media is valid and suitable for use in learning based on validation of media experts 90.59% and material experts 90%, analysis of the student responses is 96% and analysis of the teacher responses is 96.67%. Media improves students' problem-solving abilities based on pretest and posttest scores from the "Enough" mastery criterion to "Very Good" mastery criteria.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of students' critical thinking skills on mathematics learning outcomes. This study uses a quantitative method with a causal approach. The research subjects were fifth grade students of SDN Karadenan with a sample of 47 students from 90 students obtained using the Taro Yamane formula. This research was conducted in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. Testing prerequisite analysis in the form of the Liliefors test and Fisher's exact test. The results showed that there was an influence between Critical Thinking Ability (X) on Mathematics Learning Outcomes (Y) statistically proven by the results of the significance test and the regression equation = - 14,4 + (0,98X). This means that for every one unit increase in the critical thinking ability variable, student learning outcomes will also increase by 0.98 units. The strength between Critical Thinking Ability (X) on Mathematics Learning Outcomes (Y) is evidenced by a correlation coefficient of (rxy) 0,97 with a determination coefficient of 0,9467. This shows that there is a significant positive influence between students' critical thinking skills on mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the learning difficulties in geometric material and the factors that caused class 2A students at Sampangan 2 Elementary School to have difficulty understanding the geometric concept. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The subjects of this study were class 2A students at SDN Sampangan 2, which consisted of 14 male students and 14 female students. The techniques used in collecting data in this study are observation, interviews and documentation. From the research results, information was obtained that class 2A students at SDN Sampangan 2 had learning difficulties as follows: 1) class 2A students had difficulty distinguishing the various geometric shapes, 2) class 2A students had difficulty understanding the concepts of ribs, sides, corner points in a geometric shape. Following are some of the causes for class 2A students having learning difficulties; 1) the teacher only uses the lecture method so students get bored easily, 2) the teacher has not used learning media and concrete objects, 3) students do not understand basic geometric terms such as ribs, sides, points, corners.
