Abstract

This community service study was conducted because students’ digital literacy was still low, which could lead to hoaxes, cyberbullying, misuse of personal data, and irresponsible social media behavior. The activity aimed to improve MA Kalifa Nusantara students’ understanding of data security, digital ethics, and the productive use of technology. The implementation was carried out offline through interviews with the school and the delivery of interactive materials, including lectures, demonstrations, videos, posters, and active discussion. It was then evaluated by comparing pre-test results from students who did not receive the socialization with post-test results from students who did. The results showed a significant improvement in understanding, indicated by an increase in the average score from 76.17% in the pre-test group to 93.36% in the post-test group, reflecting a real positive change in students’ daily digital literacy practices. The greatest improvement was found in the ability to distinguish true and suspicious news, with an increase of 24.74%. Therefore, a structured and interactive digital literacy program proved effective in improving students’ knowledge, awareness, and wise attitudes in using the internet and social media.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the creativity of students at SD Negeri 3 Renon, Denpasar, with the implementation of the Design Thinking framework. The background of this activity is based on the limited ability of students to think creatively and develop solutions to learning-related problems. The activity involved 50 fifth-grade students and was conducted over four learning sessions. The method used was a participatory approach, in which students were actively engaged in the five stages of Design Thinking: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The implementation was carried out through structured learning activities that encouraged students to identify problems, generate ideas, and design as well as test simple solutions. Evaluation was conducted using observation sheets and a creativity assessment rubric. The results showed an improvement in the average creativity score from 62 (moderate category) to 81 (good category). In addition, 85% of students demonstrated increased confidence in expressing their ideas and the ability to produce innovative solutions.In conclusion, the application of Design Thinking has proven to be effective in enhancing students’ creativity and critical thinking skills at the elementary school level, and it has the potential to serve as an innovative learning approach

Abstract

This community service activity is motivated by the limited understanding of Generation Z regarding the proper Islamic procedures for funeral management in Bincau Village, Martapura, South Kalimantan. The objective of this program is to enhance participants’ knowledge and practical skills in performing fardhu kifayah obligations, particularly in bathing, shrouding, and performing funeral prayers for the deceased. The implementation method employed an educative-participatory approach, including lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice, involving 60 youth participants. The results indicate a significant improvement in both conceptual understanding and practical competencies of the participants in all stages of funeral management, as evidenced by their ability to correctly perform bathing, shrouding, and funeral prayer procedures in accordance with Islamic teachings. Furthermore, the activity fostered increased religious awareness and social responsibility among Generation Z toward communal obligations. In conclusion, this training is effective in strengthening the religious competencies of young people and is recommended to be conducted sustainably to support community religious capacity building..

Abstract

Social media is one of the most effective promotional tools today. At SMAN 1 Penebel, student organization members use social media to promote their school, but many still lack the skills to create engaging content. This community service activity aims to improve students’ ability to use social media as a promotional tool. The activity uses a Design Thinking approach with five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. In the empathize stage, interviews were conducted with students and teachers to identify existing issues. In the define stage, a vote was held to select one main problem. During ideation, team members proposed solution ideas. In the prototype stage, a prototype was designed as a basis for implementation, and in the test stage, it was validated. The implementation was carried out through practice-based training, where students were directly taught how to create content. Evaluation results from questionnaires showed that most students responded “fairly understand” and “fully understand” with the highest understanding in video editing applications and scriptwriting. It can be concluded that the majority of OSIS students improved their ability to use social media as a school promotional medium.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance students’ scientific literacy competence through basic scientific writing training at SMAS GUPPI Gowa. The program was implemented systematically in three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation, using a participatory and applicative approach. The planning stage included an initial assessment (pre-test), needs analysis, and the development of training modules covering the structure of scientific papers, problem formulation, simple literature review, basic research methods, and citation techniques. The implementation phase was conducted through interactive project-based workshops combined with hands-on drafting practice and intensive mentoring via writing clinics. Evaluation was carried out by comparing pre-test and post-test results and assessing the quality of students’ draft papers. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ understanding, increasing from 36% to 64% in conceptual aspects and from 28% to 88% in structural understanding. Furthermore, the quality of students’ writing improved in terms of organization, coherence, and formatting accuracy. The program proved effective in strengthening scientific literacy and fostering a sustainable academic culture within the school.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the service sector in Gurgur Aekraja Village facesignificant challenges in preparing financial reports that comply with accounting standards. A lack of understanding of financial recording and reporting has led to weak business management and limited access to formal financial services. This study aimsto improve the quality of MSME financial reporting through outreach activities and the implementation of the Financial Accounting Standards for Micro, Small, and Medium Entities (SAK EMKM). A qualitative descriptive approach was used, with data collected through observation, semi- structuredinterviews, anddocumentation. The outreach was conducted in a participatory manner, includingthe presentation of SAK EMKM materials, case study discussions, anddirect assistance inpreparing basic financial statements such as income statements and cash flow reports. The results of the study indicate a significant increase inparticipants’understanding and skills inpreparing financial statements. The implementation of SAK EMKM not only enhances transparency and accountability but also strengthens the ability to make better financial decisionsin daily business operations. In conclusion, the outreach and implementation of SAK EMKM proved effective in improving the quality of MSME financial reporting in Gurgur Aekraja Village. The implications of this study suggest that an educational and participatory approach can be replicated in other villages as a sustainable model for empowering MSMEs.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) is a form of student engagement to integrate knowledge and skills for village empowerment. KKN Group 26 from Universitas Muslim Nusantara Al-Washliyah was conducted in Pematang Cengkering Village, Medang Deras Subdistrict, Batu Bara Regency, from July 14 to August 2, 2025. The program aimed to improve community quality of life through education, economy, and agriculture. The implementation method employed a participatory approach, involving college students, village officials, and community members. The programs included literacy tutoring Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic (calistung) for children, training on snack production, packaging, and marketing strategies for (UMKM), as well as the cultivation of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) as an effort to promote natural health self-sufficiency. The results showed increased interest in basic literacy among children, improved creative economic skills for housewives, and community awareness of TOGA utilization. In conclusion, the KKN program in Pematang Cengkering Village has made a positive contribution to community empowerment by strengthening educational capacity, supporting local economic growth, and fostering sustainable agricultural innovation.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve parents' understanding and communication skills in dealing with children's emotions in Pekubuan Village, Tanjung Pura District, Langkat Regency. Problems faced by partners include parents' low understanding of children's emotional development, ineffective communication patterns, and high levels of negative emotional behavior in children such as tantrums and aggressiveness. The implementation method uses a participatory approach through stages of socialization, education, mentoring, and evaluation. The results of the activity show a significant increase in parents' understanding (from 45% to 85%) of communication skills and a decrease in negative emotional behavior in children and provide parents with direct experience in dealing with children's emotional situations. This activity has proven effective in building positive communication patterns that support the emotional development of children in the village.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance parents’ awareness and involvement in supporting the academic and social development of children at the Integrated Islamic Elementary School. The activities will focus on the role, engagement, and emotional support of parents as crucial factors in fostering children’s educational processes. By involving parents, teachers, and students, the program will provide a deeper understanding of the importance of parental roles in creating an environment that supports children’s education, both academically and socially. Through counseling sessions, training, and focused group discussions (FGDs), the program seeks to strengthen communication and collaboration between parents and the school. It is expected that, through these activities, parents will gain a better understanding of how to provide effective emotional support for their children’s development, while also building a harmonious relationship between home and school. The outcomes of this community service program are expected to contribute positively to creating a more supportive educational environment for children at the Integrated Islamic Elementary School.

Abstract

Adequate nutrition plays a crucial role in supporting the growth and overall development of children in early childhood. Nutrients serve as essential components required by the body, particularly in promoting physical development, maintaining a healthy nervous system, enhancing brain function, shaping intelligence, and improving children’s intellectual abilities. Sufficient and balanced nutritional intake is an important prerequisite to ensure that children can grow and develop optimally according to their genetic potential. Moreover, fulfilling nutritional needs from an early age provides a strong foundation for long-term health, strengthens the immune system, and reduces the risk of nutritional problems and diseases in the future. This community service activity aims to detect early nutritional status problems in preschool children while providing education regarding the importance of consuming nutritious food. The methods used include health education on balanced diet through the balanced nutrition pyramid and nutritional status screening using anthropometric measurements. These measurements were carried out by assessing height, weight, Body Mass Index for age, as well as calculating the z-score. The results showed that out of 23 children examined, 74% or 17 children had normal nutritional status. This finding emphasizes the importance of regular nutrition monitoring, as the preschool years are a period of rapid growth. Visual education using the balanced nutrition pyramid is expected to help children recognize healthy foods, prevent malnutrition, and support optimal growth and development.
