Abstract

This article describes the sense of nationalism of Indonesian citizens nowadays. It is based on several issues of the nation, especially the real condition indicating the decrease of the sense of nationalism. Interethnic group conflict and national disintegration efforts are some of the issues indicated the decrease of the senses. Actually, these issues have been anticipated legally through several regulations, but it seemed that they could not be implemented effectively. At the end of this article I try to offer a solution of the issues through the improvement of civic education learning approach. Abstract

The objectives of this study were to increase student motivation and activeness in learning process of civic education through the use of Team Games Tournament (TGT) model and to drill thinking skills as well as self-confidence of the students. This study was conducted through a Classroom Action Research at E VII international class of SMPN 1 Padang. This classroom action research consisted of two cycles. The finding of this study indicated that TGT model was very significant to increase motivation and and activeness of students in learning process of civic education. It is suggested that this model of TGT could be applied in other classes and subject areas of study with the adjustment of the model with the subject matters of the classes.   Kata Kunci: Model TGT, Aktifitas Belajar, Pembelajaran PKn Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan,

Abstract

The objective of this study is to find whether the educational background of official government at West Sumatra Provincial Office is relevant to their job. Data is analyzed by using statistical description with percentage, rate, and deviation standard. The study indicated that there is no significant relevance of formal and informal educational background of the government official of West Sumatra province to support their job. To make it relevant, it needs conducting meritocration, reviewing curriculum of in-service training,  selecting and improving the trainers and learning strategies.   Kata kunci: relevansi, pendidikan dan kinerja pejabat

Abstract

This article aims to elaborate the role of state in implementing democracy at the local level. State, in which often represented by government, faced dilema. In one hand, role of state is needed to keep democratization on the right track.  It means that state must guarantee its citizen  not to behave anarchism. On the other hand, if state’s role is too far, it can also threat its citizen’s freedom. Therefore, this article wants to show what aspects of  political elite considerations in making strong state and have role in local autonomy as a part of local democracy in Indonesia through implementing Law No. 32/2004. Abstract

The main objectives of this research is to identify the alternative models that can be implemented in Nagari Governments in Minangkabau territory. A qualitative method was used in this research. Based on data analysis, it is found that there are some models of Nagari government that can be impelemented as alternatives. They are called participative models.. It is recommended that Regency Governments in West Sumatera can tryout the alternative models in all Nagari Government in order that they can synchronize all institutions and their roles in the Nagari governances. Abstract

This article will discuss the finding research about the evaluation of the justice sanitation program in Banjarmasin. This research is conducted to find out the effectiveness of the program which is analysed in the achievement of the goals in terms of its output and outcome. The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative and the formal evaluation, with the evaluation technique analysis is single program after only. Abstract

The service of face to face birocracy appear a stigma come to a stadium confusing society, so that it becomes a chronic bureaupathology, and even lead to an administrative inertia, that is a condition of uncapability birocracy to act professionally. Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the effect of leadership style toward working climate in PT. PLN (Public Corporate of Electricity) at Solok District. Quantitative approach has been used in this study. Data was collected from 40 respondents of PT. PLN staffs and managers through questionnaires. The data was analyzed through quantitative analysis by using SPSS version 12. The finding of this research indicated that there was a positive effect of leadership style toward working climate at the level of 51%. It means that 49% of the working climate was affected by variables other than leadership style, such as work motivation, work environment, work ethics, and so on.Kata Kunci: Gaya kepemimpinan, iklim kerja, manajer, karyawan,

Abstract

Community empowerment programs, which are issued by the government, aimed to eradicate poverty in various regions across the country. However, each program that is not fully able to give perfect hope to the reduction of poverty in Indonesia. Community empowerment model that is given does not educate people to be creative. Most of programs have more charity, in the form of loans to provide capital, and others. This paper will attempt to scrutinize the various programs that have been issued by the government to eradicate poverty, the model used for the reduction of poverty, and what solutions are expected to forward to the programs.   Kata Kunci: Pemberdayaan masyarakat, kemiskinan, model-model pemberdayaan

Abstract

This paper reviews the last condition of the voters maps to support the political party in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) with the goal to get the data in form of prediction map of the DIY community choosen on the 2009 election. Main data used in the analysis are the survey report from the Portrait of Political Party Institutional Management in Indonesia in 2007, which was then equipped with data analysis from the Journal of LSI in 2007. Main theoretical framework used here is empirical-minimalist approach to the construction of Robert A. Dahl theory`s and voting behavior theory that is affected by three approach such as sociological, psychological, and rational.   Kata Kunci: Demokrasi, perilaku pemilih, partai politik
