Abstract

The ship’s design load to be affected by some factors such as; the inside force of ship, the outside force of ship, the kind of ship, the ship’s length, the comparison of ship’s dimension, the sea water waves, and the corrosion of steel. The design load of ship’s weather deck area (PD), the design load of ship’s bottom area (PB), although the design load of ship’s side area (PS) becomes parameter factor to calculate the ship’s construction. The subject of design load calculation is the general cargo ships with main dimension as : Loa = 131,273 m, Lpp = 122,360 m, B = 19,50 m, H = 11,138 m, T = 8,77 m, Cb = 0,74, dwt = 12.000 tons, displacement = 15.875 tons, speed = 13 knots, Cm = 0,98, Cw = 0,83, ME = 6.700 hp. The calculation of of ship’s design load had many results such as : the design load of weather deck (PD) likes; the mean of PD = 107,851 kN/m2, the PD of after peak area = 9,99 % more than the PD of middle area, because the super structures likes ; poop deck, bridge deck, navigation deck, and wheel house to be supported by the deck plate of after peak area. Also the PD of fore peak area = 64, 00 % more than the PD of middle area, because location of the deck plate of fore peak area to the fore castle deck although the windlass to be close to one another, of course the deck plate of fore peak area support both of them. The design load of ship’s bottom area (PB) likes ; the mean of PB = 126, 515 kN/m2, the PB of after peak area = 13, 93 % more than the PB of middle area, because location of the after peak bottom plate to the engine room, the propeller, although the rudder to be close to one another, of course the bottom plate of after peak area can absorb the main engine vibration, the propeller vibration, although the rudder vibration. The PB of fore peak area = 29,50 % more than the PB of middle area, because part of the bottom plate of fore peak area becomes the stem plate, and then the stem plate to be striked by the sea water waves when the ship voyage on the sea.The design load of ship’s side area (PS) likes ; the mean of PS = 98, 471 kN/m2, the PS of after peak area = 11, 53 % more than the PS of middle area, and the PS of fore peak area = 20, 80 % more than the PS of middle area. The reason of them to be same with PD although PB before. More over, the mean value of PB more than the value of PD althought PS, the deferences value to be affected by the factor of steel corrosion and the factor of sea water wave. Also the mean PS value less than the mean value of PB althought PD, the deferences value to be affected by distance of the ship’s side plate to the ship’s longitudinal netral axis to be close to one another.

Abstract

A numerical study of the solution of boundary value problems with the tridiagonal matrix approach has been done. The case studied is computing the electrical potential expressed by 1D Poisson’s equation with boundary conditions. The 1D Poisson’s equation are then discreted with the finite different method so as to form a system of linier equations. The system of non homogeneous linear equations that can be formed is a tridiagonal matrix. Then the matrix is solved by Gaussian elimination algorithm. On this study, the algorithm is implemented on three programming languages namely, Fortran, Java and MATLAB.

Abstract

Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) merupakan suatu teknologi fabrikasi gabungan yang unit-unit prosesnya dikendalikan oleh satu komputer. CIM merek Intelitek sudah terkenal dan meskipun sangat mahal namun tetap menjadi acuan untuk pembelajaran bidang manufaktur khusunya teknik industri karena kecanggihan software simulasi dan modul praktikumnya berbasis website. Tujuan jangka panjang dari penelitian ini adalah membangun CIM alternatif yang murah, tanpa menyertakan software simulasi, dengan menggunakan microcontroler Arduino Due 32-bit agar menciptakan produk pesaing yang meskipun jauh lebih murah dari merek Intelitek, namun tetap dapat mengantarkan esensi pembelajaran CIM pada level dasar. Penelitian ini bermaksud membangun 4 Robotic Arm untuk stasiun perakitan yang dahulu secara tradisinya hanya untuk kebutuhan material handling atau dengan istilah loading unloading. Benda yang dirakit pada penelitian ini adalah Satu Balok Tetris 4 Susun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi 50% kegagalan rakit disebabkan konstruksi Robotic Arm yang suaian antar komponennya terlalu longgar meski sudah dikencangkan

Abstract

The potential of Indonesian marine fisheries resources magnitude of ± 6.6 million tons / year, but only some can be captured by Indonesian fishermen is ± 4.7 million tons / year, partly stolen by fishermen from neighboring countries. This is due to the limited number and large size of fishing vessels operating.One of the areas that have the potential for capture fisheries is Panimbang Pandeglang District of Banten Province. Subdistrict of Panimbang the coastal region directly opposite the Sunda Strait. This region has a coastline and marine areas large enough.In order to improve the ability of the fishermen in the subdistrict Panimbang, it is necessary to build a fishing vessel that is suitable for this region. Where the design and construction of fishing vessel can be realized, then in turn the welfare of the fishermen in the region will increase.Fishing vessel designed the planned use of materials / raw materials fiberglass. This is because due to the high cost of steel plate material, problems also trouble getting wood materials. The fishing vessel design includes determining the size of the subject, the manufacturing line drawings, preparation of general plans, construction design, stability diagram, engine power and tonnage.

Abstract

Pelabuhanratu National Fishing Port can be changed to Pelabuhanratu Oceanic Fishing Port, but it should be proper to the class characteristic regulation of KKP, number 16, 2006. It has several condition, as ; the fishing vessel fleet have service area in the ZEE territorial and the International Ocean, the quay wall fasility > 60 GT, the port quay dimension has length > 300 m and deep of sea water > 3 m, amount of fish production 60 ton per day, the fishing port capacity > 6000 GT per day, it has the quality assurance facility of fish production, the area of fishing port > 30 hectares, it has the zone of fish processing industry. The result of research had many factors that had not been proper to the KKP regulation, as; amount of fish production = 25,030 ton per day, the fishing port capacity approximately 268,957 GT per day, the area of fishing port < 30 hectares, the zone of fish processing industry had not completed, so Pelabuhanratu National Fishing Port can not be changed to Pelabuhanratu Oceanic Fishing Port. Related to the fishing vessel that to be proper to the characteristic of its service area, as ; the capacity of fishing vessel up to 60 GT and minimum speed 12,5 knots, the fishing vessel has minimum 6 fish holds, the location of fish hold in the middle body, the fishing vessel hull has the bilge keel plate, and the material of hull fishing vessel to be made of wooden, steel, aluminium, or fiberglass.

Abstract

An oil production well own by Company X had its production declined due to the impact of corrosion and scaling issues which happened on the production tubing. To solve the problem, an immediate action was made to replace the production tubing through a Hydrajetting cutting process which combining the abrasive fluid and high pressure pump application.The scope of subject were limited to process analyzing and calculation which happened during the production tubing cutting process. Analysis was done through fluid mechanic principle with the usage of the Energy Conservation Theory to get an accurate result of a successful Hydrajetting cutting process for production tubing. Analysis method was used to calculate all the data which includes fluid velocity, pressure, energy, and all the other related factors. The result of the calculation will be compared to the Hydrajetting recommendation standard.The result from the analysis will prove and explain a successful Hydrajetting cutting process for production tubing and provide a quality measured solution to solve the problem happened on the oil production well due to damage occurred on its production tubing.

Abstract

Factually where the bearingss are not functioning properly makes the performance of the entire system will decrease or can not work properly. In this study, the wear test data that will be used is the data for the operating hours of 100 hours, 200 hours, 300 hours, 400 hours and 500 hours and the first converted into a linear function to obtain a threshold of wear of each specimen. In accordance with the objectives to be achieved in this study was to determine the relationship between the limits hours of operation and wear limit set maximum ball bearings manufacturer. The data used in this study is through the mechanism of experimental tests on Diesel engines Yanmar 15 HP, 1700 RPM using 3 specimens to be validated. Furthermore, these data will be generated from a particular distribution which will provide an overview wear limit as a function of operating hours.

Abstract

Weirmeter is a discharge gauge on an open-channel flow that is usually applied to dams and rivers. In each weirmeter there is a discharge coefficient (Cd), which is the coefficient multiplied by the theoretical discharge to obtain the actual discharge because the pressure difference and flow velocity are neglected. The Cd is directly proportional to the discharge. The actual debit measurement results do not approximate the result (the multiplication of the theoretical debit with Cd). This difference may be due to unequal Cd values for each weir dimension, one of which is the weir height (P). Therefore it is necessary to test the weirmeter with P varies in order to know the pattern and the value of Cd. The tested weirmeter is sharp-crested v-notch 90o with a length of 200 cm and a width of 35.5 cm. P used is 20.3 cm; 21.3 cm; and 22.3 cm. From the test, the Cd value is inversely proportional to P although some of these test results are far from the theory because it requires a 90% confidence interval on the Student distribution (t distribution). The value of Cd in weirmeter used is 0.6996 for P 20.3 cm; 0.6657 for P 21.3 cm; and 0.5781 for P 22.3 cm.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the physiological workload and psychological employee mental burden of making clothes at each work station. The study was conducted at six work stations that work station QC Jodoh, Linking, QC Lampu, Pantek, Sontek and Obras. Calculation of physiological workload carried using the NASA-TLX. Physiological workload calculation results showed that the highest energy consumption experienced by the operator at the work station sontek (85,8 Kcal /hour), while the lowest value contained in the work station QC Jodoh (54 Kcal/hour). This job classified into light workload due to smaller than 100-200 Kcal/hour (according to Decree No. 5 1of 1999). Measurement of psychological workload on each carrier based questionnaire NASA-TLX which has been filled by 18 operators, obtained a total rating of each indicator psychological workloads different. This shows that the difference in the psychological workload experienced by the operator on each indicator.

Abstract

Water is one of the major media for heat transfer process in the cooling system. The size of the flow rate of water entering the system will affect the overall cooling. Analysis of water balancing primary loop chiller system against COP (Coefficient Of Performance) is based on the observation the performance of the chiller system during operational with temperature of chilled water produced that not able to achieve the desired criteria when demand for chilled water increasing. After analysis conducted, it is known that decreasing efficiency of cooling system caused by uncontrolled water flow rate into the system. After water balancing is done, the flow rate of the water coming into the system (evaporator) can be controlled by using the balancing valve so that the flow rate increased from 16.07 x 10-3 m3 / s to 52.70 x 10-3 m3 / s, resulting in increased chiller COP value system from 2.4 to 4.1.
