Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a problem that hinders human development globally. Currently, around 162 million children under the age of five are stunted. If this trend continues, it is projected that by 2025 there are 127 million children under the age of five who will be stunted. Objectives:  To explain the factors that cause stunting in children under five from the aspects of education, knowledge, maternal attitudes and family economic status, as well as low birth weight. Methods: In writing this literature review, using the method of searching literature from international articles using the ScienceDirect, Goggle Scholar, and ProQuest databases. An initial search using the keywords:” Stunting on a toddler” resulted in 1.300 international articles from 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019  2020 and 2021 that match the inclusion criteria. Results: Based on the results of the literature review, it was found that the relationship between maternal education and the incidence of stunting in children under five found that maternal education greatly determines children's health, knowledge and positive attitudes that are owned by mothers are also factors that cause stunting in toddlers. In addition, the ability of families to meet food needs both in terms of quantity and quality of nutrition greatly affects the nutritional status of children and the birth of babies with low birth weight and babies born prematurely at risk of consistently experiencing stunting. Conclusions: Based on the research review literature, it can be concluded that education, knowledge, maternal attitudes and family economic status, as well as low birth weight, have a relationship with the incidence of stunting in children under five. Keywords: Education, Knowledge, Attitude, Economy, LBW, Stunting

Abstract

Decision making for taking screening is an important component in preventing cervical cancer, but still many women who have not yet done it due to a lack of knowledge and decision-making ability.  Development of intervention tailored to the stages of decision-making based on the Precaution  Adoption  Process  Model,  such as training,  is able to improve decision-making ability to do the screening. This study aimed to determine the differences in the effect of training on decision-making for cervical cancer screening based on PAPM in the UPT Griya Antapani Health Center Bandung. This quasi-experimental study with two group pre-test post-test design involved  84  women aged  30-49  years who were chosen by purposive and proportional cluster sampling from two villages divided into  42  respondents each. Group  A received training with PowerPoint media,  leaflets,  videos, and WhatsApp while group  B received training with PowerPoint media, leaflets, and videos. The data of decision-making was collected using the  Precaution Adoption Process Model checklist:  before,  after training, and  15  days after training then analyzed using  Friedman test and  Mann  Whitney test.  The results showed that there were differences in decision-making in each group before and after training with p <0.001 but Mann Whitney test showed that there was no difference in decision-making between groups after training (p = 1,000 and p = 0.316). This depicted that any method and media can be used to change decision-making. Providing training and counseling is needed according to the stages of decision-making taking into account the factors that influence it.  Keywords: Cervical Cancer, Decision-making, Screening, the Precaution Adoption Process Model

Abstract

Infusionis an invasive procedure that causes pain in children. Wich one strategy that can help reduce the pain is non-pharmacological measures that easy, can be done by nurses to reduce the pain during invasive procedure in children is a deep breathing relaxation techniques using play therapy blow propeller. The purpose ofstudythis was to know the effect of play therapy blowing propeller to decrease of pain infusion. Data collection was conducted from March-April 2018 at  Raja Ahmad Thabib Hospital Tanjungpinang. using design quasyexperimental approach only with posttest control group design. The sampling technique is consecutive sampling with the number 20 preschool children (2-6 years), 10 in the experimental group and 10 control group. Pain during infusion in children measured directly with a scale FLACC (Face,Legs, Activity, Cry,Consolability). The data analysis was performed with thetest Mann-Whitney to assess pain intensity difference between the intervention and control groups. These results indicate the existence of significant differences in pain scores p-value= 0.01(pv <0.05) between the intervention and control group at the time of infusion. This research may help to nurses and other health workers as non-pharmacological techniques when IVs that child pain intensity lighter. Keywords: Installation Infusion, Pain, Relaxation Breath deeply

Abstract

The number of patients who suffers with is increasing every year. Poor management of DM can cause various complications. DM complications are one of the factors that can affect quality of life. A decrease in quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetes can significantly affect the morbidity, mortality, and life expectancy of patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the incidences of DM’s complications with quality of life in patients with DM. This study used the accidental sampling technique in the sample selection method. A total of 30 respondents were involved in this study. Data collection was done by checking the complication data. As for the quality of life data, researchers used the SF-36 questionnaire. Based on the results of the study found 83.3% of respondents had complications of hyperglycaemia. Meanwhile, 56.7% of respondents have a poor quality of life. Pearson correlation was used in this study to analyze the relationship between the two variables. The results of the correlation test found a strong relationship between complications and quality of life of patients (p = .00). This study shows that participants have high rates of complications with poor quality of life. Further research regarding nursing interventions to reduce the number of complications is needed in the same location setting. Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus, Complications, Quality of Life

Objectives: the purpose of this research is to analyze the difference in the effectiveness of breathing exercise and effective cough to increase lung expansion of pulmonary tuberculosis patients. Methods: The research design used Quasy experiment with a Pre-postes approach with a control group design. The population of this research was pulmonary TB patients at Perak Timur Surabaya Public Health Center amounting to 33 people. The sampling technique used Probability Sampling with Simple Random Sampling got a sample of 30 people. Independent variables were aromatherapy eucalyptus oil and breathing exercises. The dependent variable was pulmonary expansion in pulmonary tuberculosis patients. Instrumen in this research used Peak Flow Meter and an observation sheet. Data analysis used the One Way Annova Test. One Way Annova test results showed that breathing exercise was more effective when compared with aromatherapy eucalyptus oil in influencing the process of increasing pulmonary expansion in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. Results:  Results of aromatherapy analysis of eucalyptus oil with pulmonary expansion ρ = 0,530 (ρ ˃ α = 0,05), and breathing exercise with pulmonary expansion ρ = 0.026 (ρ < α = 0,05. Conclusions:  The implications of the study show that breathing exercise is more effective for non pharmacology therapy to help increase lung expansion in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis so as to reduce shortness of breath.
