Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the meaning and value of moral education is contained in a figurative expression of Minangkabau society in the village of downstream talawi sub talawi Sawahlunto city. The data of this study is the figurative expression in the village of the downstream talawi subtalawi Sawahlunto city. Source of research data is the primary source of oral sources as spoken by the informant as the original speakers. Datawas collected using the methods and techniques refer to there cord and advanced engineering techniques as noted. The findings of the study include three things: (1) the meaning of figurative expression, the meaning is not true but there is no intention implied from the expression presented, with the aim that recipients do not feel offended expression, (2) the value of education, especially about the value of moral education that is useful in the association community life.

Abstract

The purpose of this study were to describe: (1) the process of narrating review text skill. (2) the improvement of the students skill in narrating a review text for students of VII.4 grade at SMP Negeri 6 Bukittinggi. The research data was collected by qualitative data were observation note, field note, questioner, and review, and quantitative data was collected based on test. Research finding of the process of narrating review text skill by modeling technic of students of VII.4 grade at SMP Negeri 6 Bukittinggi was run well. The average of student’s tests score increased from pre sickle until the second sickle, in pre sickle is 54.78, in the first sickle was 79.1, and in the second sickle was 90.5.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was (1) to describe the form of inner conflict of main character in the novel Moga Bunda Disayang Allah by Tere Liye from the psychology of literature based on ego defense mechanism proposed by Ferdinand Zaviera, and (2) to describe the cause of inner conflict of main character in the novel Moga Bunda Disayang Allah by Tere Liye examined from the psychology literature. In this data of this research are forms and causes of inner conflict of main character in novel Moga Bunda Disayang Allah by Tere Liye. Sources of this research data was a text that describing inner conflict of the main character from novel Moga Bunda Disayang Allah by Tere Liye published by Republika Puslisher, 11th prints 11 November 2011 in Jakarta.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to explain the process and the improvement of learning outcomes narrative expository writing skills aided mind mapping class VII. 2 SMP Negeri 2 Kamang Magek that is viewed from four expository narrative writing assessment indicators, namely expanding knowledge, convey an event in chronological order, reasoning, and use language that is informative. Based on the research’s results it can be concluded that the application of mind mapping can improve the process and learning outcomes narrative expository writing skills of students of class VII. 2 SMP Negeri 2 Kamang Magek Agam District. It can be seen in the significant average of mark. In preliminary observations (pre-cycle) the average is 50,79% then in first cycle is 67,46%, the second cycle is 90,48%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the form, meaning, structure, and function of the expression of the category of Minangkabau people in Padang District Parak Tower East. The data of study is a expression of the people who are in the Tower District Parak East Padang. The data source of this research is the speech of the informants about the expression of the people in Padang District Parak Tower East. Data were collected using interviews, records, and record. The findings of the study include the four issues, namely (1) the form of oral folklore and oral expressions of folklore in part the growing confidence of the people of Padang District Parak Tower East. (2) the meaning of an expression of the people who are in the Eastern District Parak Tower. (3) expression of the people’s trust tructure which consists of two parts, the first consisting of causation and the second consisting of signs, conventions. (4) categories kepercayaan expression and function of the people in Padang District East Tower Parak, class idiom about work, marriage, the human body, birth, travel, animals, folk medicine, housing, food, death, natural phenomena and function expression of ban, warned, entertain, educate.

Abstract

The article of this study were to describe the religiositas muallaf the figure in Ayat-ayat Cinta novel opus Habiburrahman El-Shirazy with Ternyata Aku Sudah Islam novel opus Damien Dematra, comparison the religiositas muallaf the figure in Ayat-ayat Cinta novel with Ternyata Aku Sudah Islam novel. The data of this study were religiositas muallaf the figure in Ayat-ayat Cinta novel with Ternyata Aku Sudah Islam novel. The primary source of data were Ayat-ayat Cinta novel and Ternyata Aku Sudah Islam novel. Data were collected by describtion method. The findings of the study showed that religious muallaf the figure in Ayat-ayat Cinta novel and Ternyata Aku Sudah Islam novel. Then, so comparison religiositas muallaf figure in Ayat-ayat Cinta and Ternyata Aku Sudah Islam.

Abstract

This study is purposed to describe educational values included in Eliana, the novel, which are character, intelligence, social and family prosperity educations. This study is qualitative with descriptive method, and content analysis technique. Data in the analysis is novel’s elements that contain educational values. Data source is Eliana, the novel, written by Tere-Liye. This novel is published by Republika, first edition on January 2011 in Jakarta. Data collected gradually: first, read Eliana, the novel, written by Tere-Liye; second, remark sections that explain educational values; third, note data that related to educational values; and fourth, inventorying data in form.  Based on results of Eliana, the novel, structure, these show that: (1) 19 behaviors of an actor contain character education, such as delivering order or message, honest, patient, modest, brave, sincere, and grateful; (2) 8 behaviors of an actor contain intelligence education, such as logical and creative thinking; (3) 7 behaviors of an actor contain social education, such as friendly, helping each other, respect and appreciate; and (4) 16 behaviors of an actor contain family prosperity education, such as children upbringing and household implementation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study were (1) describe the style of the language contained in the lyrics of the song the band's best album of Betrayer, (2) describe the function of a style that is contained in the lyrics of the song the band's best album of Betrayer, (3) describes a style that is dominant contained in the lyrics of the song the band's best album of Betrayer. The data of this study was fifty-four of style from all the lyrics in inventory and in previous analyzes. Source of research data is text or song lyrics band Betrayer, as many as nine songs featured in the best of album. Data were collected using the methods refer to and record as advanced techniques. The findings of the study is a style that is contained in the lyrics of the song with the band Betrayer style as much as 54 languages ​​from around the lyrics of the song in the analysis. Function of language in the style of songs that the band Betrayer, asserted, make poetic, concretize, and smoothing. Style that is dominant in the lyrics of the band Betrayer again the best of this album is the personification, hyperbole, irony, and repetition (anaphora).

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the process and the resulting increase in the ability to write news VIII.1 grade students of SMP Negeri 20 Padang through concept maps techniques. The application of the concept map technique is expected to provide benefits to enhance the spirit of the students in writing news properly because of technical inquiry prefers a meaningful process rather than results. This research is action research, the research subjects were students of SMP Negeri 20 VIII.1 class Padang totaling 37 people, classroom action research is descriptive method research design class action include: (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The data in this study in the form of a written test results of students, observation sheets, field notes and students' questionnaire responses. Analyzing the data obtained by: (1) conduct preliminary observations on the ability to write news, (2) perform a test write news, and (3) complete a questionnaire. Furthermore, the data processed by classifying the qualitative and quantitative data and provide the results of student test scores. Based on the results of data analysis it can be concluded that the technique of concept maps in teaching writing can enhance students' ability to write a story in class VIII.1 SMP 20 Padang with more than enough qualifications.

Abstract

This research have purpose to describe and analyze the value of character education that contained in Malaikat-malaikat penolong’s novel by Abdullah Khiaratullah, which consist of : (1) the value of honest, (2) tolerance, (3) hard work, (4) creative, (5) curiosity, (6) friendly/ communicative, (7) love peace, (8) social care,and (9) responsibility. The method that used for collecting the data are reading and understanding the novel carefully. After that, take note and mark the parts of story that indicates the value of character education. The method that used in analyzing the data are (1) inventory the value of education into the data research, (2) clasify according to the problems that researched, (3) analyze the data, (4) making the conclusion, and (5) make the report of findings.
