Abstract

The digital era is exposing the media industry and the audience to a new phenomenon, it is convergence. Convergence becomes a real challenge have to be faced by the entire media industry, from global to local media industries. The convergence faced by local media is a bigger challenge due to limited financial and resources. Various studies show that adaptation is mostly done by utilizing platforms in new media to re-embrace segmentation and even add new audience segmentations. The forms of adaptation presented show the elements of branding media in it. According to Malmelin and Moisander (2014) there are five concepts of branding media that are often used, they are brand extension, brand as identity, brand as differentiation, brand as equity, and brand as a product. This article will show the side of branding media by the local Javanese language magazine "Panjebar Semangat" in the middle of adaptation efforts to convergence. The discussion will be related to the five concepts presented by Malmelin and Moisander (2014). The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was carried out by interview and observation on the Panjebar Semangat social media account. The results show that the branding media activities carried out by Panjebar Semangat are dominated by the concept of brand extension and brand as a product. The branding media can also give well benefit by local media with limited funding sources to optimize adaptation to convergence.

Abstract

This research is an experimental study where the variables in this study are divided into three categories, independent, dependent, and confounding variables. From this research, qualitative data and quantitative data were obtained. The qualitative data includes the results of the phytochemical screening test. The quantitative data includes pH test, bioinsecticide effectiveness test, and preservative effectiveness test. Based on the results of the phytochemical analysis, it shows that ketapang and brotowali leaf extracts contain secondary metabolites in the form of saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids, and tannins. The bioinsecticide with the best formulation is the bioinsecticide with a formula of 15% extract because it has an LC50 value that is close to the LC50 value of the probit regression, which is 13.05%. Based on the results, it shows that the bioinsecticide of ketapang leaves and brotowali stems for all formulas has met the quality qualifications according to the requirements in SNI 06-0475-1996.

Abstract

Palm oil liquid waste or waste processing CPO (Crude Palm Oil) commonly called CPO (Crude Palm Oil) trenches are very potential to be processed into biodiesel. At the moment, CPO (CPO trenches) processing waste is only considered as waste that pollutes the environment and is not of economic value. If left continuously, palm oil liquid waste that has a pH of 4.2 (acidic) will cause problems for the environment if disposed of directly. One form of utilization of CPO trenches that can be done is by converting it into biodiesel. The manufacture of biodiesel from CPO trenches uses transesterification reactions such as the manufacture of biodiesel in general, with pretreatment to lower the acid figures in the CPO trenches. Biodiesel was obtained later in the analysis of quality standards based on SNI 04-7182-2006 and obtained results that meet the requirements for four parameters, namely the content of FFA samples before the transesterification process is 1.82%. Tan biodiesel content of 0.3055 mg KOH/g. The content of free glycerol is 0.0198% and the total glycerol is 0.0884%.

Abstract

This study purposes in determining the effectiveness of students writing ability on descriptive text being taught using the Chain Writing Method for the B class of Informatics Engineering Study Program Balitar Islamic University 2020/2021 academic year. This research is an experimental research, which uses the chain writing method to find out its effectiveness from student learning outcomes. The population of this study were first semester students of Informatics Engineering Study program which consisted of 21 students as a sample. The researchers applied one group pretest posttest. The sampling technique is random sampling. The method used is a quasi-experimental design. The pretest result done by Informatics Engineering students shown the average was 44.19%. The pre-test was conducted by researcher in March 2020. Then it can be concluded that their Writing Descriptive text ability are not good enough. The results of data analysis, known that the chain writing method is more effectively used in learning to write descriptive text for B class of Informatics Engineering students. It has significance difference in mean of determining by précising statistics of dependent T-test. From the calculating result of the t-test found that the t-value obtained was 5,959, while the required critical t-value at p> .05, the level of significance of the two tailed test is 2.086 (df = 20), p> .01 the two tailed significant level of test was 2.845 (df = 20). The data results of this research indicates that there is a significance difference in pretest and posttest score result. This proves that the chain writing method is effective method in learning the descriptive texts for the informatics engineering class in the 2020/2021 academic year.

Abstract

One-fourth of Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product or GDP is from the manufacturing industry sector. Indonesia's government has proactively encouraged companies to increase their production capacity to meet the global demands, leading to strong demand for employees to work harder, affecting the workers' health. Overwork is often associated with fatigue, stress, and various health problems. Moreover, stress due to excessive work is a general problem many industries face and frequently influences workers' performance. Therefore, this research intends to examine the relationship between work stress and workers' performance, particularly in the manufacturing industry in Indonesia. The sample data are collected from ninety-three workers at the staff level across various companies in the manufacturing sector. The relationships between the determining factors and the Employee Productivity are evaluated by using the multivariate regression analysis. At the correlation coefficient of 0.972, we found a statistically strong relationship between the work environment and Stress to the workers' performance. The condition of low performance is attributed to the non-standard working hours and low quality of the relationship between colleagues and their superiors. Finally, the research recommends improved management of workers' stress by companies involving the adoption of flexible working hours and better communication between parties via discussion forums and meetings. Therefore, employees will be more motivated to improve work productivity.
