<![CDATA[AbstractThe research purpose is to see how far the improvement of students’ narrative writing has been made by using WH-Questions as a guide. The research method that used is a classroom action research and the data were collected by direct observation technique in the teaching learning process through field notes as the tools of research. The research was conducted in two cycles. The first cycle was conducted on 28 October 2011 and the second cycle on 3 November 2011. After conducting the research, the writer got the data which show that WH-Questions increased the students’ narrative writing in the classroom activity. The finding of this research showed that WH-Questions can help students to improve students’narrative writing, it is looked by the score from 58.13 at first cycle and 78.39 at second cycle.Keywords: WH-Questions, narrative writing]]>

<![CDATA[The background of this research is important of vocabularyt in leaarning English. But students still difficult to adding and memorizing the vocabulary. So, to help students for learning it, the researcher develop platformer game with combination material of tenth grade students and have the result Superlary Game. To develop this media, researcher used the Sugiyono development model. This development aims to give the media to learn English vocabulary in order to increase motivate to learn English of tenth grade students of senior high school. Based on the Sugiyono model, researcher only use eight from ten steps, namely potential and problem, data collection, design product, design validation, design revision, product trial, product evaluation and final product. English Learning media produced in the form of computer-based game application used programer conctruct 2, which contains the second semester vocabulary material for class X SMA / MA students. This media completed with guiding book of how to play the game. The student’s response for this game have the result large scale trials obtaining total score are 816 from criterion score 960, percentage of students’ response are 85% this valued include in 80 < x < 100% in criterion score. So it can be concluded that the learning media developed is very good for use in learning classes in class X SMA / MA on second semester vocabulary material.]]>

<![CDATA[Drugs is the term for narcotics, psychotropic substances and other dangerous. The term often used is DRUGS (Narcotics, Alcohol, Psychotropics and other addictive substances) Around us today, there are a lot of addictive substances that are negative and very harmful to the body. Known as narcotics and illegal drugs. In this sophisticated modern era, drugs have become a problem for mankind in various parts of the world. Drugs that can destroy bright reasoning destroy body and soul, inevitably can threaten the future of mankind. In life, a critical step of the neurodevelopmental process, drug abuse may be caused brain plasticity mechanisms that can induce long-lasting improvements in neural circuits and in the end, actions. One of the effects of these improvements is the disability. Cognitive functions, with negative academic effects on the acquisition of new information. Knowing those phenomena, the researcher had alternative therapy for increasing their cognitive functions. The researcher used writing as a therapy for them. The advantages of writing are immense, but they are also underestimated. Writing has profound therapeutic benefits. Writing is also a healthy brain exercise to activate brain cells and boost memory. This research conducted in Adult Prison in Blitar city, in which 15 drug prisoners were treated into writing theraphy. The result is they could write as well as the icreasing of their cognition.]]>

<![CDATA[Mastering technology improvement is something that educators have to continue to strive for on an ongoing basis. A teacher is required to master the use and applicate the science and technology development along the revolution industrial era 4.0. To continue improving the quality of self, a teacher needs to be given coaching and training. The training activity with the theme "Introduction to English Language Learning Technology at the Pesantren Anak Sholeh, a kindergarden and primary school in Ponorogo" was attended by Ustadz and Ustadzah of the Pesantren Anak Sholeh for PAUD and Elementary School levels with a total of 12 participants. The coaching and training was carried out on Saturday, August 7, 2021 by introducing MEMRiSE as a very easy learning application that children can do to improve their English and Arabic vocabulary. Participants were given the opportunity directly to practice downloading and trying the MEMRiSE application and practice it. Based on the results of the activities, participants showed high enthusiasm in practicing the use of MEMRiSE and stated the ease of learning to increase children's vocabulary. In general, educators at the Sholeh Children's Islamic Boarding School have carried out creativity and learning innovation using MEMRiSE. The results of the responses from the coaching and training participants also showed 100% that MEMRiSE was motivating, fun for learning and very effective in learning trough online in the covid-19 pandemic situation.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract. Referring to the result of Indonesia National Assessment Programme in 2017, the literacy (reading and writing skills) of elementary school students were still low, that is, only 46.83%. This condition needs to be improved, and one of the ways to enhance it is by implementing Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS)/School Literacy Movement. This community service aims to improve the students’ writing skill as en effort to implement the GLS. This community service was conducted in the form of training of story writing. The training was implemented at one of the Islamic Elementary School in Blitar, East Java. The participants of the training included the students of grade 4, 5, and 6, totalling 52 students. The training was conducted by applying flipped classroom. The material is given to the students in the form of video that they should learn online, and subsequently they were given face-to-face writing guidance in the classroom. The results showed that the students were able to create a story about their experiences during the pandemic. The analysis of students’ writing revealed that the students’ abilities in composing a text was good. These abilities include developing ideas and using proper words and sentence structure. However, most of the students still encountered difficulties in using mechanics of writing, such as capitalization and punctuation. This needs to be followed up by intensifying writing activity at school, and generating other trainings to enhance the students’ writing skill.]]>

<![CDATA[This study purposes in determining the effectiveness of students writing ability on descriptive text being taught using the Chain Writing Method for the B class of Informatics Engineering Study Program Balitar Islamic University 2020/2021 academic year. This research is an experimental research, which uses the chain writing method to find out its effectiveness from student learning outcomes. The population of this study were first semester students of Informatics Engineering Study program which consisted of 21 students as a sample. The researchers applied one group pretest posttest. The sampling technique is random sampling. The method used is a quasi-experimental design. The pretest result done by Informatics Engineering students shown the average was 44.19%. The pre-test was conducted by researcher in March 2020. Then it can be concluded that their Writing Descriptive text ability are not good enough. The results of data analysis, known that the chain writing method is more effectively used in learning to write descriptive text for B class of Informatics Engineering students. It has significance difference in mean of determining by précising statistics of dependent T-test. From the calculating result of the t-test found that the t-value obtained was 5,959, while the required critical t-value at p> .05, the level of significance of the two tailed test is 2.086 (df = 20), p> .01 the two tailed significant level of test was 2.845 (df = 20). The data results of this research indicates that there is a significance difference in pretest and posttest score result. This proves that the chain writing method is effective method in learning the descriptive texts for the informatics engineering class in the 2020/2021 academic year.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aimed to establish an instructional supervision model for scientific-based English instruction at Islamic Junior Boarding Schools. Research questions were stated as to how was the formulation of the model. This research employed Research and Development with three phases of (1) foundational study seeking the potencies and problems using policy analysis, field study, and theoretical review; (2) design and development study by designing the hypothetical model and developing the model formulation to be validated; and (3) Try out the study by doing one group pre-post experimental and perceptional studies. Finally, the model was established informs of model book and tutorial usage. The model combined principles of clinical Supervision and collaborative orientation to control, which were compatible with the behavioural characteristic of Islamic Boarding Junior High Schools in a pesantren environment. This model obtained score validation of 89 %, categorized as valid, can be used without revision. While the pre-assessment score was 2.60 and the post-assessment score was 3.39with, the t-test was -7.0886on significant 0.05 and t table 2.447. This model was concluded to be practical and applicable to use as a Scientific Based English Instruction Supervision for Islamic Boarding Junior High Schools.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study is to see how students react to using the "Missyou" Lyric Game in listening activity. This study uses a qualitative research design. The participants in this study were 20 students from SMPN 1 Srengat who were chosen at random. A questionnaire was used to gather information. The purpose of the questionnaire is to collect student responses and determine whether the "Missyou" Lyric Game model explores and develops students' listening ability as an alternative media for learning to listen. The results revealed that 81,65 percent of respondents agreed that song lyrics may enhance their listening skills.]]>

<![CDATA[Due to the fact that students will eventually enter the workforce, English proficiency plays a crucial role in their education. The world of work requires workers who have the ability to speak English orally and in writing. Students of the PIAUD study program in the pesantren environment who carry out their daily routines in the pesantren environment must be ready to enter the world outside the pesantren with a variety of chosen jobs. With the routine of Islamic boarding school activities which are very minimal in the opportunity to learn English, students who graduate from boarding schools feel that they are lacking in mastering the international language. In addition, the lack of motivation also greatly affects them in learning English. Based on the problems faced by students in Islamic boarding schools, it is necessary to provide motivation and learn English that is able to change their mindset in learning English easily and quickly. The development of English in the "Mastering English in One Minutes" activity by presenting natives from Canada together with English language study students was carried out face to face after previously students received online classes 3 times in meetings. This development uses the question and answer method, where PIAUD study program students can directly ask and practice English natively and will provide a golden opportunity to study briefly and increase their motivation in learning English. So it is necessary to organize Community Service activities to improve students' English mastery in the Islamic boarding school environment]]>
