Abstract

Purpose - The aims of this study are determine performance achievement and identify the constraints of implementation performance management based on Balanced Scorecard in KPP Madya Malang. Design/Methodology/Approach - This research combines qualitative and quantitative descriptive. The discussion is focused on discussing performance management based on the Balanced Scorecard which consists of four perspectives. Results and Discussion - The results showed that the Organizational Performance Value in Malang Malang KPP reached 101.74% meaning that overall the achievement of the Malang KPP Madya NKO had a good performance. Based on the description of the achievements of the NKO shows that the linkage of financial perspectives with non-financial perspectives has not created a maximum causal relationship. Conclusion – The results of study prove that the Organizational Perfomance at KPP Madya Malang in 2016 has a good performance and have the four Balanced Scoredcard perspectives is three perspectives are in green status such as customer perspective, internal business processes perspective, and growth and learning perspective, while the one perspective that shows red status is the Stakeholder perspective. Research Implications – It is expected that the results of this study can provide Feedback and Learning on the strategies that have been implemented and can develop strategic learning for continuous improvement and can also provide insight to the KPP Madya Malang about the importance of education in BSC-based performance management and rewards. Research Limitations – This study conducts performance appraisals only based on a Balanced Scorecard based measurement, further research can use measurement of more than one method to strengthen and assess the overall results.

Abstract

Background - During a period that was very vulnerable to competition in the banking industry, it encouraged the banking industry to quickly adjust to the development of the needs and desires and demands of the surrounding community regarding banking products. Current developments in the use of credit cards occur quickly because there are many conveniences obtained from the use of credit cards. Research Objectives - To find out and determine the demographics of credit card holders in BNI based on marketing communication strategies. Design / methodology / approach- Research is focused on a qualitative approach with a case study methodology, the population in this study is BNI credit card holders, a sample of 21 BNI Credit card holders and using triangulation for data validity. Results and Discussion - The results of the interview data for choosing a credit card holder to use a BNI credit card are to shop and meet the needs of self-actualization rather than basic needs, the results of the interview also show that the concept of integrated marketing communication is that the customer knows and and ultimately has a BNI credit card due to advertising in electronic and digital media. Conclusion - Demographically the job as an entrepreneur / entrepreneur is a customer who has a lot of BNI credit cards and reasons to facilitate customer shopping activities. Implication research - Based on the results of the research that has been made, this research contributes to the marketing communication strategy in the banking business environment and other industries by paying attention to each element of demographic segmentation. Limitations research - For further research try to analyze more specifically about complaints on credit card payments because this research is very broad regarding marketing and demographic communication.

Abstract

Background – College students are one component of society that plays an important role for the change of the nation (agent of change). At this moment they are in a situation where they face financial independence and start making responsible decisions. Financial education can be done by providing understanding to the public, especially the younger generation about finances and their management that is good and wise, that is why, financial knowledge is needed. Today's society tends to buy things as they wish, so, financial knowledge requires skills and tools for individuals to be able to provide financial decisions and with confidence can manage individual welfare efficiently. Good personal financial management must have at least knowledge so that individuals can apply their knowledge based on their financial attitudes. Purpose - Determine and analyze the factors that influence the behavior of financial management of college students, focusing on Economics and Business, in Gresik Regency. Design / methodology / approach – This research methodology uses a descriptive quantitative approach. Chosen population was 2,636 college students and the sample used was 347 students. Data collection taken by questionnaires and analysis was using multiple linear regression. Finding - Three research variables (1) Financial Attitude, (2) Financial Knowledge, and (3) Locus of Control have an influence on the Financial Management Behavior. College students who tend to have a good financial attitude then they have good financial behavior in managing personal finances. College students with financial knowledge will better understand financial problems and be better in terms of financial behavior. College students who have a good locus of control will be able to measure the risks that occur so that they can easily make a decision and their finances tend to have a level of trust, confidence and good control over their financial management. Research Implication – This research has implications for assessing student behavior in managing personal finances in an effort to meet the needs of education and daily life. Limitation – In assessing financial management behavior (Financial Management Behavior), this research student only uses 3 variables, namely Financial Attitude, Financial Knowledge, and Locus of Control.

Abstract

Background - Hospitals as a health service organization in order to "survive" must have a good service management system so that the impact on employee performance can meet the demands of the community's needs. Objectives - This study aims to determine the extent of job satisfaction and employee performance at Semen Gresik Hospital which is influenced by organizational culture and work motivation.Design / Methodology / Approach - The object of this study is Semen Gresik Hospital. Sample in this study used a purposive sampling method with the provisions of respondents who worked more than 5 years while through the formula Slovin determined the number of research samples of 219 respondents. Statistical tests use path analysis.Results and Discussion - Based on the results of the analysis prove that organizational culture and motivation directly and indirectly influence employee performance and job satisfaction, the findings of organizational culture have a smaller coefficient on employee performance and job satisfaction compared to work motivation and based on analysis testing The path of organizational culture has a total value smaller than work motivation. So the results of the study concluded that organizational culture and motivation can increase job satisfaction and employee performance.Conclusion - All hypotheses this study are proven and can be accepted. Organizational Culture, work motivation has direct and indirect effects on employee performance and job satisfaction.Research Implications - It is hoped that the results of this study can contribute to knowledge and hospital management to pay attention to organizational culture and work motivation to improve employee performance and employee satisfaction at work.

Abstract

Background – One of economic indicators of a country is the capital market. Liquid capital market can attract investors, both foreign and domestic investors, to invest their ownership in that country, which in turn can improve the country’s economic growth. Aim – This research aims to examine the influence foreign ownership on stock market liquidity in Indonesia. Design / methodology / approach – This research splits foreign ownership into two groups, the first one is foreign ownership by financial institutions, and the second one is foreign ownership by non-financial corporations. The type of data used is panel data using fixed effect model (FEM). The technique for examining the influence of foreign ownership on liquidity used multiple regression analysis. Findings – The result found that foreign ownership by financial institutions and non-financial corporations negatively affect liquidity. The study also found a positively non-linear effect between foreign ownership by financial institutions to liquidity and a negatively non-linear effect between foreign ownership by non-financial institutions to liquidity. Research implication – This research can assist investors in determining investment in the Indonesian capital market by pay attention to variables such as foreign ownership, return, turnover, market capitalization and standard deviation. Limitation – The research period was short, which was only 21 months due to limited data and the research period that has passed too long, that is January 2012 to September 2013.

Abstract

Background - Competition in the Batik industry in Indonesia is quite sharp. Therefore it is necessary to apply the right marketing strategy in this industry. Whereas each batik industry that originates from the region has its own uniqueness that can attract the attention of consumers. Therefore, a positioning strategy for batik products is needed to be able to create more value in the minds of consumers compared to its competitors. Purpose - This research purposed to describe the position of competition (positioning) on batik industry in East Java based on the perceptions of local batik consumers. Design / Methodology / Approach - The study took samples of batik consumers in 9 cities in East Java, namely Bangkalan, Sidoarjo, Lamongan, Tuban, Pasuruan, Tulungagung, Mojokerto, Ponorogo and Banyuwangi. The population was taken by using purposive sampling technique. Respondents were taken as many as 200 respondents from selected batik producing cities. The research was conducted on 9 kinds of attributes that distinguish the distinctive characteristics of batik between regions in East Java including the quality of the fabric used, the quality of the coloring of the fabrics used, the patterns or motifs, the various colors, prices, design innovation, popularity, value art and intrinsic meaning. To conduct the analysis, analysis techniques using multidimensional scaling were used. Results and Discussion - The results showed a significant difference between the batik in each region which shows the characteristics of the area. The implication of this research was very useful for batik business in East Java to find out their competitive position among this industry in East Java, so that they can determine the right competition strategy according to the advantages or characteristics of each region. Conclusion - There are differences in perceptions of the quality attributes of the fabric material, the quality attributes of fabric coloring, batik patterns or motifs, various colors, prices, design innovation, popularity, artistic value and intrinsic meaning of batik batik in East Java which is the object of this research. Research implication - The research contributions are presented in the form of theoretical contributions and practical contributions. The theoretical contribution made is that this study supports previous research, that marketers can find out the competitive position in the industry through the perceived attributes of consumers. The implication of this research is very useful for marketers to find out who their close competitors are so that marketers can apply the right strategy to deal with competitors. Batik entrepreneurs or craftsmen should make products with high artistic value that characterize the Indonesian culture. Research limitations – The limitation of this study lies in the sample selection, because consumers only know the product attributes that they know, in the next research, consumer selection should preferably be on consumers who know all the characteristics of the businesses being compared. Further research can also examine the segmentation, targeting and positioning policies of batik products in marketing their products in the community.

Abstract

Background – Employee job satisfaction becomes a matter that must be considered for the success and success of the company. There are factors that can affect job satisfaction, namely factors in workers and work factors including organizational commitment, job characteristics, and work motivation. Aim – This study aims to determine and analyze partially and simultaneously the effect of organizational commitment, job characteristics, and work motivation on job satisfaction of employees of PT. Pertamina RU IV (Persero) Cilacap. Design / methodology / approach – The research method uses quantitative by using path analysis techniques (Path Analysis). Samples were taken by purposive sampling technique with a total sample of 123 people, which included Maintenance Execution employees of PT. Pertamina RU IV (Persero) Cilacap. Findings – The results of the study indicate that job satisfaction is positively and significantly affected by organizational commitment through intervening variables of work motivation; job characteristics; and work motivation. Research implication – The results of the study can be used as a company reference in paying attention to organizational commitment, job characteristics, work motivation, and job satisfaction to achieve organizational goals that are effective and efficient. Limitations – Limitations of this study on the number of variables used to predict job satisfaction are limited simultaneously at 66.4%, so that it can use other variables that can provide a greater influence on job satisfaction.

Abstract

Background - Job satisfaction, communication and OCB are indicators used to achieve company goals. Bank Madina Syariah is one company that pays close attention to these three things in operating activities in the work environment. Purpose - The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of job satisfaction on the OCB of Bank Madina Syariah in Yogyakarta region, as well as to determine the effect of communication on OCB of Syariah Bank. Design / Methodology / Approach – This type of research is a quantitative study with a questionnaire distribution method using a 4-point Likert scale. The result of this study is that job satisfaction and communication have a positive and significant effect on employee performance of Bank Madina Syariah. Result and Discussion – Simultaneous regression results, obtained the F-count value of 20,570 with probability (p) = 0,000. Based on the provisions of the F test where the probability value (p) ≤ 0.05, Organizational Communication, Job Satisfaction simultaneously affects OCB. Job satisfaction variable obtained t-value of 2,977 regression coefficient (beta) 0.476 with probability (p) = 0.005. Based on the results of data processing where the probability value (p) ≤ 0.05, it can be concluded that Job Satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on OCB. Communication variable with probability (p) = 0.001. The result of the t-value is 3,549, it can be concluded that communication has a positive and significant effect on OCB. Conclusion – Job satisfaction and communication have a significant positive effect on Organizational Behavior Citizenship at Bank Madina Syariah, so that the more satisfaction is established and the better communication runs, the more it can form OCB in the work environment.

Abstract

Background - Humans are company assets that must be nurtured and directed in order to achieve the company's goals. Its implementation refers to company regulations that have been formulated and endorsed by company management. The disciplinary factor is one that affects human resources. Purpose - This research aims to determine and analyze Effect of Work Discipline on Employee Performance in Nusantara Plantations XIII. Palm Oil Factory Paser Belengkong, East Kalimantan. Design/ Methodology/ Approach - This type of research is quantitative research. Sample taken counted 109 respondents by using Proportionate stratified random sampling and simple random sampling. Data collection is taken by using some technique that is observation, interview and questionnaire by using Likert scale, statistical analysis using Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) version 20. Result and discussion - Based on the calculation and test results, the highest work discipline variable is the preventive discipline variable (X1) partially influencing employee performance with t count 8.720> t table 1.6595. Work discipline variable simultaneously affects employee performance with F-count 66.929> F table 2.69. The next test results based on determination coefficient obtained R2 of 0.657 or 65.7%, which means that 65.7% of the dependent variable, namely Employee Performance (Y) is influenced by independent variables consisting of Preventive Discipline (X1), Corrective Discipline (X2) and Progressive Discipline (X3), while the remaining 34.3% is influenced by other variables not included in this study. Research Implications - It is expected from the research results can benefit the company in paying attention to discipline to improve employee performance and besides that it can contribute to knowledge. Limitations – This research was only conducted at PT Perkebunan Nusantara XIII Olongpinang Palm Oil Mill, Paser Belengkong Subdistrict, East Kalimantan with part of the respondents being employees so that further research is needed to expand the population.

Abstract

Background - The corona virus (Covid-19) has rocked the world, WHO even declared this a pandemic, so that various policies have also been carried out by the Indonesian government to reduce the spread of the virus. However, the business world is the most affected, especially SMEs as the tip of the economy in Indonesia. Therefore, SMEs need to create a business strategy that can continue to maintain their business in the midst of a pandemic situation that is still ongoing today. Purpose - to identify internal and external conditions and formulate business strategies to improve competitiveness in the small business of the Azky Collection hijab in Melirang Wetan Village, Bungah District, Gresik Regency during the Covid-19 pandemic which is still ongoing until October 2020. Design / Methodology / Approach - This study uses a case study approach with an explanative qualitative research method. Data analysis using Expert Choice V11 software. Results and Discussion - The results showed that the analysis of the internali and externali environmenti at the Azky Collection was above average (stabel). The right strategy formulation used by Azky Collection in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic through matrix analysis of IFE, EFE, SWOT, IE, CPM, Grand Strategy and QSPM which can increase its competitiveness is product development. Conclusion - The right strategy formulation used by Azky Collection in facing the challenges of environmental change due to the Covid-19 pandemic is product development. Research implications - This study provides a contribution to the application of strategic management related to the determination (formulation) of strategy in SMEs which are the driving force of the largest economic sector. Research limitations - The study was conducted by conducting interviews and questionnaires given via telephone and WhatsApp because they were still in a pandemic situation.
