Abstract

Background - Companies need good employees as one of the company's assets who have an important role in carrying out organizational activities. Employees who are needed are not only capable, competent and skilled, but most importantly they also have a high sense of loyalty. Loyalty is necessary so that these employees can work not only for themselves but also for the advancement of the company. Purpose – The purpose of this research is to analyze the loyalty of the ship crew (ABK) Pinisi Ship Fleet PT. Aswil Lautan Sejati. Design/ Methodology/ Approach - Using qualitative methods with a phenomenological study model. The informants in this study were ship crew (ABK) who had worked for at least 10 years (3 people), then the ship's captain and ship owner. Data collection techniques using interviews, with data analysis techniques using data reduction, data presentation, conclusions and verification. Conclusion - The crew members are capable and responsible for carrying out work based on their position and the relationship between the ship owner and the crew is like there is no distance. Supporting loyalty in profit-sharing compensation is the best way for ABK to feel. Result and discussion - Based on the results of the study, the researchers concluded that the crew members are loyal to the company which is shown by their attitudes and behavior at work and towards colleagues and superiors even though there is no guarantee / insurance in doing their job. Research Implication- be a reference in strategies to improve employee welfare, not financial aspects, but also non-financial aspects such as health and safety insurance.

Abstract

Background – The restaurant industry is a very competitive industry to attract and retain consumers. Restaurant owners need to understand how consumers want, need and perceptions. Word of mouth (WOM) has an important role in any effective marketing strategy for the restaurant industry. Purpose – This study aims to determine the influence of food quality, the quality of personal interaction, the quality of the physical environment, the perceived value, and the quality of the relationship (satisfaction, trust, and commitment) on the behavior of mouth-to-mouth intention of customers where to eat Javanese specialties in Surabaya. Design / Methodology / Approach – This study uses a sample of 200 respondents. The data processing method used in this research is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with LISREL 8.8 for Window software. The target population in this study is all people who have eaten and drank in one of the 10 places to eat Javanese specialties in Surabaya. The type of sampling in this study is accidental sampling or convenience sampling. Result and Discussion – Food quality, physical environment, personal interactional quality, perceived value have a significant positive effect on satisfaction. Satisfaction has a significant positive effect on Word of Mouth and trust. Satisfaction does not have an impact on the customer commitment to eating Javanese specialties in Surabaya. Trust has a significant positive effect on the customers' commitment to eating Javanese specialties in Surabaya. Trust and commitment have no influence on the word of mouth intention of customers to eat Javanese specialties in Surabaya. Conclusion – The results of the study found that customers of Javanese cuisine in Surabaya rated satisfaction as not the main assessment in forming a commitment to return to enjoy the food served. Business actors need to find and develop new things from other aspects such as beautifying interior and exterior buildings or increasing the variety of food and improving services and small things such as cleanliness. In the restaurant business, it is necessary to develop more value which is not owned by competitors. This makes it difficult for customers to find other alternatives. Researh Limitations – In this study, it was found that the Commitment variable alone was not sufficient in measuring the relationship between commitment and word of mouth intention, researchers needed to measure the commitment variable into three parts, namely affective commitment, calculative commitment and normative commitment. By measuring the commitment dimension, further research is expected to see how the results of the impact of the commitment dimension on word of mouth intention in the service industry.

Abstract

Background – Competent teachers can produce quality education. The problem that exists is the number of teachers in schools who lack motivation, this is due to the low enthusiasm of teachers when teaching in several schools. In addition, teacher workloads that exceed the limit and lack of training to improve teacher skills also lead to a lack of teacher motivation. The solution is the need to increase work motivation from both extrinsic and intrinsic factors. Purpose – To find out the influence of instristic and extraneous factors moderated work motivation on teacher performance. Design/Methodology/Approach - This research method uses a causality research design. The population of the study was 86 junior high school teachers in Poncokusumo District. With the research sample 46 SMP teachers who have been certified. The approach used is quantitative with Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). Result and Discussion - The results of data analysis state: (1) intrinsic factors affect teacher performance, (2) extrinsic factors affect teacher performance, and (3) moderated intrinsic and extrinsic factors affect teacher performance. Conclusion – The results of this study are the intrinsic and extrinsic factors which are moderated by motivation have a significant effect on performance. Motivation strengthens the relationship between intrinsic and external factors on teacher performance in junior high schools in Poncokusumo sub-district. Research Implications - This research has implications for the influence of intrinsic and extrinsic factors as well as motivation as moderation on teacher performance

Abstract

Background – The dynamics of the organization have an impact on positive and negative experiences for individuals which causes a decrease in trust among members of the organization. This efforts to foster trust in organizations need to be done through creating a participatory organizational climate. Purpose – Research to prove the influence of organizational climate on the Level of Organizational Trust in Private University X in Gresik. Design/ Methodology/ Approach – Type of quantitative research with a correlational level of analysis. The dependent variable is the Level of Organizational Confidence (Y), while the independent variable is the organizational climate. The study population was structural officials with saturated sampling techniques totaling 64 people. The data collection technique of the two variables is using a Likert scale with five answer choices. The instrument validity uses logical validity while the reliability coefficient is calculated by the Cronbach Alpha formula. The reliability coefficient of the Organizational Trust Scale is 0.937 while the Organizational Climate Scale is 0.912. Result and Discussion – Data analysis used simple regression statistical techniques with a significance level of 5%. Statistical test results with SPSS 14.00 resulted in a value of r = 0.460 and a value of F = 16,685 with a significance level of p = 0,000 <0.05, which means significant. Conclusion – There is a Significant Effect of Organizational Climate on the Level of Organizational Confidence in Private University X in Gresik. The effective contribution of Organizational Climate to the Level of Organizational Trust is 21.2% while 78.8% is influenced by other variables. Research Implication – Develop a participatory organizational climate to build trust in organizations. Research limitation - This research was only conducted at a University X in Gresik, with structural official respondents so that further research was needed to expand the population.

Abstract

Background – PT Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali (PT PJB) is a subsidiary of PT PLN (Persero) which participates in the Business Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management (PROPER) organized by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) of the Republic of Indonesia based on Ministry of Environment Regulation No 06 year 2013. As a subsidiary of PT PLN (Persero), PT PJB establishes management contracts which aim to get a Gold PROPER rating from the MoEF. Even so, the company still has some challenges as it encounters several problems of managing CSR internally. As a first step, PT PJB, especially in CSR Department, has made improvements in its organization by implementing a PROPER-based performance appraisal system in managing CSR in all PT PJB Power Plants. Purpose – Examining the phenomenon which has been occurring for the past several years, researcher decided to conduct observations and interviews. This study tries to explain descriptively how changes have been designed and implemented through the "Performance Management Model" approach. Design / Methodology / Approach – This study is a qualitative field research. The data for this research were collected through observation and interviews. Focus interview were about CSR concept, Company’s goal and target, integrated CSR management to Company’s vision and mission, CSR management problems in different area, and social-environment national issue. Data collected were then analyzed using content analysis method. Result and Discussion – Positive impacts were found after the implementation of change in management model at the CSR Department, such as maturity level in CSR management increased, charity program decreased, and human resources capability increased. The result that One of the company’s Power Plants, Paiton Power Plant, won the Gold PROPER rating. It could be considered as the biggest achievement since the company became the only power plant in the PLN (Persero) Group which first obtained a Gold PROPER rating. Conclusion – The establishment and implementation of PROPER-based governance system would not be optimum if it did not involve employees (Head Department, Managers, Supervisors, and staff) mastering in CSR. Research Limitations – This study has limitations in reference, namely the limited researches and previous journals on organizational change, particularly in the management of its CSR activities, which researcher found as reference material.

Abstract

Background – The development and use of financial technology services, especially in payment transactions (digital e-payments), are also influenced by the millennial generation who are now the majority generation of the population in Indonesia (Susenas, 2017). In its development, financial technology also continues to require innovation and development in the financial system so that it can be accepted by each individual user. So that research related to what factors are of interest to millennial individuals is important to do. Purpose – This study identifies the faktors that interest individuals in the millennial generation using e-payment services with the Innovation Diffusion Theory framework. Design/ Methodology/ Approach - The sample in this study were 159 users of e-payment services aged 20 years to 40 years who live or have activities in Gresik Regency and use e-payment applications obtained by convenience sampling technique. This research includes exploratory research. The method used in this research is faktor analysis. Result and Discussion - The results of the research and analysis that have been carried out as a whole, in determining the most dominant faktors can be seen in the total variance results in the total variance table explained, the economic benefit faktor which is the dominant faktor with a variance value of 40.550%, the payment instrument faktor with a variance value of 5,894%, information faktor with a variance value of 5,369%, technical, economic and social faktors with a variance value of 4,942% and the utility faktor which is the last faktor with a variance value of 4,676%. Conclusion – The most influential factors that lead to E-payment Adoption decisions sequentially are: economic benefit factor which is the strongest influencing factor, then the payment instrument factor is a strong influencing factor, in the third position there is the Information factor, in the fourth position is technical, social and economic factors. The utility factor which is the last factor that has a strong enough effect. Research Implication - The public can find out the things that cause them to adopt e-payments. The majority of respondents agreed that they get economic benefits when using e-payment in transactions for using financial services and make the respondents interested in adopting e-payment, therefore companies that provide e-payment must maintain the quality of the e-payment application

Abstract

Background - Strategy formulation is often a complicated process that requires adopting a systematic approach to diagnosing external factors and to match these external factors with internal capabilities, therefore strategy formulation is an important measure of a company's success in winning the competition at the national level or maybe even at the international level. Purpose – This study aims to provide an academic paper on freight Forwarder company management which is the object of research in determining future company strategies by identifying SWOT and TOWS in order to uncover strategies to exploit strengths and opportunities as well as to improve weaknesses and overcome these threats. Design / Methodology / Approach – This study uses a qualitative approach in answering the formulation of research problems. The data collection method consists of a comprehensive review of the literature and a part of interviews with management executives at freight forwarders. Data analysis uses the IFE approach and the EFE Matrix, to map the scores and weightings of internal strengths and external changes. Result and Discussion – Combining the IFE and EFE analysis, we get a company positioning plot at the medium or hold and maintain level, which means that the company's current focus is on market penetration and product / service development. Conclusion – The TOWS matrix produces a series of proposed strategies, namely SO, WO, ST, and WT that echo internal and external conditions, so it is hoped that the four proposed strategies will be able to increase the competitiveness of companies in the national arena. Research Limitation - This research is limited to companies within the scope of freight forwarders in the city of Surabaya. Research in different years with the same variables is suggested to be carried out in the future, considering that internal changes and external changes will follow changes in time. Research Implications - This research can be used as a reference for other companies in the freight forwarder sector to determine the direction of the company's future strategy, however, these results are only valid for companies that are the object of research, all variables must be changed and adjusted to the conditions of each company. the proposed strategy becomes valid. Acknowledgment - This research was carried out in collaboration with companies in the field of freigt forwarders in the city of Surabaya, along with their leaders who took the time and willingness to complete this research study.

Abstract

Background - PT. NHR is one of the new arrivals in the world of the cement industry in Indonesia, which was founded in 2011. Increased efficiency can be done in various activities in the company, one of which is by controlling inventory properly. The method that can be used by companies to manage their inventory is the Just In Time method. Objective - This study aims to determine the factors that cause the accumulation of the main raw material for cement and to determine the implementation of Just In Time in the inventory of the main raw material for cement at PT. NHR. Design / methodology / approach - The type used is the type of qualitative research. There are 2 (two) studies, namely, key informants are the Head of the Warehouse Department, the Head of the Warehouse Operational Shift, and the Head of the Production Department. While non-key informants are Warehouse Operational Shift Staff, amounting to 3 (people). Determination of the informants was chosen by purposive sampling. Results and discussion - The results showed that the factors causing the accumulation of the main raw material for cement in PT. NHR, namely (1) Inaccurate measurement of the main raw material for cement, (2) Negligent and inaccurate workers (3) Weak visual control of workers in the field due to lack of labor, hot weather and declining health, (4) Purchase of raw materials main cement with large quantities. Conclusion - Implementation of the Just In Time system at PT. NHR has indirectly been implemented but is still not optimal because in the process of purchasing the main raw materials, cement is carried out in large quantities or not in accordance with the company's production plans.

Abstract

Background - Improve the quality and convenience of customers in social insurance services. PT. Taspen (Persero) KCU Semarang requires a management audit to evaluate and provide recommendations that need to be done to obtain effective human resources. interview with the Head of General and HR Section and several employees at PT. Taspen (Persero) KCU Semarang, the function of human resources (HR) at PT. Taspen (Persero) KCU Semarang can be said to have not been effective. Purpose – The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the eight Human Resource functions and the effectiveness of the Human Resource function at PT. Taspen (Persero) KCU Semarang. Design/ Methodology/ Approach - This research used descriptive qualitative. Data were collected using interview methods, questionnaires, and documentation studies. Data analysis used management audit with four stages, namely preliminary audits, review and testing of management controls, detailed audits, and reports. Result and discussion - Five of the eight HR functions at PT. Taspen (Persero) KCU Semarang has been implemented effectively, namely (1) performance appraisal, (2) career development, (3) reward and compensation system, (4) employee protection and (5) employment relations. Meanwhile, the three functions that have not been implemented effectively include (1) orientation and placement, (2) training and development, and (3) termination of employment. Conclusion - The eight management functions have not fully achieved the expected effectiveness in accordance with the audit indicators in the human resources function. Research Implication – The implications in research for PT Taspen (Persero) KCU Semarang can be used as material for consideration and evaluation of three HR functions that have not been implemented effectively, so that they can be used for decision making to improve HR management performance, especially in the general section.

Abstract

Background - Based on the observations of researchers while being an accreditation companion at a fully accredited health center, several components of the success of the puskesmas in getting accreditation need to be studied so that they can be applied in other Puskesmas scopes. Purpose – This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of individual characteristics and leadership skill on organizational performance with Teamwork as an intervening variable at accredited Community Health Centers in Pasuruan district. Design/ Methodology/ ApproachThis study examines the effect of individual characteristic and leadership skill on organizational performance with Teamwork skill as an intervening variable at plenary accredited Community Health Center in Pasuruan district. The sample of this study are employees who involved in accreditation process and quality improvement at two plenary accredited Community Health Centers totaling 157 people. Hypothesis testing used Structural Equation Modelling with Partial Least Square regression. Result and Discussion – The result of this study shows that individual characteristics and leadership skill have significant positive effect toward Teamwork skill. Individual characteristic and leadership skill also have significant positive effect toward organizational performance through Teamwork which means that improvement on individual characteristic and Teamwork skill lead to better organizational performance along with better Teamwork skill. Leadership variable dominantly affects organizational performance through Teamwork skill rather than individual characteristic. Leadership is second order variable with transformational leadership which has dominant measurement toward leadership skill rather than transactional leadership. Conclusion –The result of this study shows that there is positive and significant effect between individual characteristic and leadership skill toward organizational performance with Teamwork skill as an intervening variable. Leadership skill dominantly affects organizational performance through Teamwork rather than individual characteristic. Leadership is second order variable with transformational leadership dimension which has more dominant effect toward leadership skill rather than transactional leadership. Research Implication – This research has implications for assessing individual characteristics and leadership, as well as Teamwork on the organizational performance of the health center.
