Thailand's economy relies heavily on agriculture, but the sector is faced by complex imbalances in supply and demand, as well as logistics bottlenecks, leading to major inefficiencies in the market. This study aims to explore these systemic constraints and to propose a conceptual framework for an Ontology-based Semantic Database to improve the domestic supply-demand matching, focusing on the Lower Northern Provincial Cluster 1. After the knowledge acquisition phase of the methodology framework, a rigorous qualitative approach was applied. In-depth interviews with 15 key stakeholders from government agencies, agricultural entrepreneurs and local farmers were analyzed systematically by using data triangulation with thematic analysis and a cross-case synthesis matrix. The empirical results show a serious “Supply-Demand Gap” with a high degree of information asymmetry, and significant mismatches in volume, quality, price and time. The analysis shows that local farmers are challenged by fluctuations in yield, post-harvest storage constraints and technological limitations, whereas entrepreneurs face strict volume consistency, high standards of quality and rigorous logistics timing. Moreover, these local, ground-level frictions are often not in line with macro-level government policies. Traditional databases are not suitable for resolving these semantic conflicts. Therefore, this paper introduces a conceptual domain ontology model that consists of 5 domains, i.e., Farmers, Entrepreneur, Agricultural_products, Provinces, and Sorting_Packaging_Plant. The model is designed to facilitate the automated matching of raw production constraints with strict market logistics requirements through the application of rules. This semantic architecture provides a fundamental blueprint to develop intelligent matching platforms to reduce information asymmetry and build a more resilient data-driven agricultural ecosystem in Thailand.

Abstract

Testosterone plays a central role in spermatogenesis and male reproductive function, primarily through its interaction with androgen receptors (AR) in testicular cells. Optimizing AR expression is therefore essential for maintaining normal testicular activity and ensuring high sperm quality. Bovine pituitary extract (BPE), which contains key reproductive hormones such as follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), has the potential to modulate endocrine function and enhance spermatogenesis. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of BPE administration on plasma testosterone levels, AR expression, sperm quality, and testicular morpho function in male Wistar rats. Animals were divided into a control group and treatment groups receiving intraperitoneal BPE injections over 1–6 weeks. The findings revealed that BPE did not significantly affect circulating testosterone levels. However, AR expression in Leydig cells increased significantly after two weeks of treatment. Improvements were also observed in sperm quality, including higher concentration and motility, along with reduced abnormalities. Additionally, testicular structure showed enhancement, reflected by increased seminiferous tubule diameter and germinal epithelial thickness. Overall, BPE administration improves male reproductive performance by enhancing AR expression, spermatogenesis, and testicular structure without altering systemic testosterone levels.

Rice price stability is central to Indonesian food security because rice remains a major component of household expenditure and consumer price sensitivity. Although Indonesia is a major rice producer, domestic prices remain linked to international markets through imports, particularly from Thailand. This study examines whether the COVID-19 crisis disrupted Indonesia-Thailand rice market integration or temporarily weakened short-run price transmission through domestic stabilization policies. Using weekly data from January 2018 to December 2024 (N = 336), we apply Johansen cointegration, a Vector Error Correction Model with regime-shift dummies, Granger causality tests, and GARCH modeling. The Johansen test confirmed one stable long-run cointegrating relationship, estimated as PTH = 0.7976PID + 0.2336. VECM results showed gradual equilibrium adjustment, with an estimated half-life of approximately 25-26 weeks. Under normal conditions, Thai FOB prices were strongly transmitted to Indonesian domestic prices, with a coefficient of 1.0370. During the COVID-19 period, the interaction coefficient of -1.0189 reduced net short-run transmission to 0.0181, indicating near-zero pass-through during the crisis. Granger causality tests showed weak predictive influence from Thailand to Indonesia (p = 0.0798) and stronger predictive influence from Indonesia to Thailand (p = 0.0013). GARCH results showed divergent volatility responses, with Indonesian volatility slightly declining from 1.1164% to 1.0982%, while Thai volatility increased from 1.2617% to 1.8470. These findings indicate that COVID-19 weakened short-run price transmission but did not break long-run market integration. The results are consistent with the buffering role of Indonesian stabilization policies, although causal interpretation remains limited by the observational design.
