Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes with the contextual approach applied by the teacher in the learning of mathematics in the classroomThe type of research which used is classroom action research (PTK) through two cycles consisting of two meeting in every cycle. The procedures performed in each cycle are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Subjects in this study were students of class VIII in one of the MTs State in Cimahi as many as 31 people, consisting of 14 men and 17 women. The results showed that: (1) increase student learning outcomes indicated by the increase in cycle I the average value of the 58,87 with the percentage 32,26% and the cycle II theaverage score achieved by 82,07 with the percentage of 77,42%; (2) the activity of the students and the teacher in the learning has been quite good from every cycle, however there is still a shortage that can not be repaired.

Abstract

The research I conducted aims to determine the effect of the use of learning media on the learning motivation of class VIII-A students of SMPN 10 Cibinong. This is done because there are still many students who do not understand learning which if only explained by the teacher and do not use equipment or other learning aids. Of course, the media that will be used here is modern learning media. The research method that I use is descriptive qualitative research, the research sample is taken from students of class VIII-A SMPN 10 Cibinong which includes 20 students, the instrument I use is a questionnaire. Method The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect of the use of instructional media on motivation in class VIII-A students of SMPN 10 Cibinong.

Abstract

The poetry made by Chairil Anwar entitled "Derai-Derai Cemara" has a very beautiful word and hides a million meanings. Poetry has a thousand meanings when the reader reads, depending on the reader's interpretation. Because the reader has different thoughts and interpretations. Readers also often have difficulty understanding the meaning in the poems they read. Therefore, the aim of this poem-reviewing is to equalize the thoughts and interpretations of every reader, thus it could make the reader easier to read this one of Chairil Anwar's poetry. In this study, researchers used qualitative descriptive method, where this study present the results of the study with clear and simple words so that the the reader does not have difficulty in undersanding it. His poetry could make the readers feel the sorrows and the pain in every word. This poetry conveys the process of human life journey is not easy and not up to expectations he has, which eventually leads them to surrender to destiny and realize that death is the end of everything.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the researcher's curiosity about the meaning contained in a literary work, namely poetry. Literary work is the result of an act, the result of thinking that can get something in the form of a play, both in the form of poetry and it can also be in the form of prose. The purpose of this study is to determine the results of the meaning of the poetry after using the mimetic approach. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method, which is to present the results of the research by describing them using words. The results of the analysis of the poem "Getting Closer, Getting Lost" show that in this poem it has a meaning about feeling sad because you have to lose and the lesson from the poem is sincerity in accepting a real situation that is not in accordance with expected expectations. Based on the results of the use of the mimetic approach to the poetry "Increasingly, Increasingly Lost", it can be concluded that the use of a qualitative descriptive method using a mimetic approach to Khoirul Trian's poetry is suitable for analyzing the meaning contained in a literary work, namely poetry

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the figure of speech or language style contained in the short story "Kemarau" by Andrea Hirata. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. This research was carried out by reading the short story carefully and thoroughly, then analyzing and marking each sentence or word included in the figure of speech, then from the data that had been reviewed or analyzed the writer found various kinds of figure of speech in the short story "Kemarau", including the personification figure of speech, hyperbole figure, simile figure and cynicism figure. The number of personified figures is 11, the hyperbolic figure is 17, the simile figure is 2 and the cynic figure is 7.

Abstract

This research, entitled Analysis of the Main Character in the Novel "Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk" by Ahmad Tohari, was motivated by the emergence of social criticism. This study aims to analyze the main character in the novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk by Ahmad Tohari. The life in a dukuh is different from other villages which affects the character of its inhabitants. The method used is descriptive qualitative analysis. Data retrieval is done by reading, analyzing and marking the text or sentence included in the character and characterization so that it is easy to study, with this study the reader can take the good side of several figures to be implemented in social life, namely someone who is brave, compassionate, cares about others. . Even though living in a dukuh which is shrouded in poverty and ignorance, it is not as bad as others see it, although according to people their life is lacking but it does not make them complain all the time. The result of this research is that there are social conflicts that arise in the plot related to the characters and characterizations in the novel. Ahmad Tohari, as the author of the novel, describes the character of each character well and precisely so that readers can easily understand the plot and convey it successfully to the reader.Keywords: Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk, Figures, Characterizations.

Abstract

Song lyrics are a series of pitched words to be sung as a form of self-expression from a musician. There is a musician's message or social criticism on the song lyrics he creates. Likewise with the song lyrics Buktikan, there is social criticism of the song lyrics. Because the lyrics of this song Buktikan by Iwan Fals have deep social criticism, the authors make the lyrics of this song as research material. The author formulates any social critism contained in the song lyrics Buktikan. The purpose of this study is to describe the social criticism of the results of the song analysis. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method which is carried out by describing the lyrics of the song and then examined using Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic approach by means of sign, reference sign (object), and use of signs (interpretant) so that social criticism of the lyrics of this song can be known. The results of this research that become a sign are song lyrics Buktikan, then the object is the social context of the songwriter, and what becomes the interpretant is the result of lowering the song lyrics to a certain meaning. The social criticism contained in the lyrics of this song is criticism that focuses on the government not only to break promises, but also needs to prove it.

Abstract

Short story is one type of literary work in the form of prose with a short story, but in the story there is a series of stories that cover the problem and its solution. Short stories are built with two elements, namely intrinsic elements and extrinsic elements. The intrinsic elements of the short story include the theme, setting, character / characterization, plot, point of view, language style and message. Extrinsic elements include community background, author background and the values contained in the short story. This research is motivated to appreciate short stories as one of the literary works, this research uses descriptive qualitative research method, the purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the intrinsic elements contained in the short stories “old writer” by Haryo Pamungkas. Data analysis was carried out in several stages, namely by reading, analyzing, taking notes and identifying the contents of the short story. After the data were analyzed, the researcher found that the short story “old writer” by Haryo Pamungkas contained intrinsic elements,namely theme, setting, plot, character / characterization, point of view, language style and mandate. The short story also has a message to convey to readers who always rely on the their devices that if life is only spent in front of a square screen that can contain everything without us knowing the outside world we will never know how beautiful it is to remember the past that was so pleasant in old age.

Abstract

This research is entitled Analysis of Poetry entitled “Kubaca Bisa” by Abdul Wachid. This research is a form of contribution to the scientific development of Indonesian Language and Literature in analyzing poetry. This study aims to describe and interpret the language style used in the poem entitled "Kubaca bisa" by Abdul Wachid. This research belongs to the type of qualitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques in this study using content analysis. The validity of the data in this study is centered on theory and uses interactive techniques, namely the data reduction stage, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Every poem has its own use of language. As the results of this study which show that the poem "Kubaca Bisa" contains metaphors, parallelism, rhetoric, hyperbole to alliteration. The style of language used in the poem aims to emphasize the meaning of the poem.

Abstract

This article discusses hermeneutic analysis of the poem "Aku Ingin" by Sapardi Djoko Damono. The things discussed in this article are the meaning of the poem "Aku Ingin" by Sapardi Djoko Damono using the concept of hermeneutics, namely analyzing poetry with stages of meaning in accordance with the steps of hermeneutic analysis paul ricoeur. The stages are: 1) placing poetry as autonomous text; 2) classify the layers of symbols in poetry; 3) associating symbols with something outside the text; and 4) interpret the text. The measures aim to analyze the symbols contained in sapardi Djoko Damono's poem "Aku Ingin". Thus, this research can explain the meaning of poetry "Aku Ingin" more comprehensively. The results showed that hermeneutic analysis of sapardi Djoko Damono's poem "Aku Ingin" shows the use of symbols, wood, fire, and ash is a representation of efforts and efforts to achieve true love and simple love.
