Abstract

This research is motivated by the difficulty of students in writing biographical texts in accordance with the structure and rules of language in writing biographical texts. This study aims (1) To determine the difficulties experienced by students in writing biographical texts using the think talk write method assisted by audio visual media, (2) Scenarios and implementation in learning to write biographical texts using the think talk write method assisted by audio-visual media, (3) To determine the response of teachers and students in learning. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The assessment instrument in this study is a learning activity to write biographical texts which includes questionnaire sheets, observation sheets, and written tests in the form of questions of knowledge and skills. The results of this study indicate that learning to write biographical texts using the think talk write method is said to be "good", as seen from the percentage of teacher responses who answered 80% and the percentage of student responses by 83.3%. The difficulties experienced by students lie in the use of biographical text structures and the use of spelling and punctuation that are not correct in their placement. Even so, some students scored above the KKM.

Abstract

Language is a communication device that humans use to interact with fellow humans. They are dynamic and unique because they will continue to grow and grow as the ages grow. Language development may be marked by either a new term or a change in its meaning. Every language has its own distinctive feature. The purpose of this study is to identify the language of 3-year-olds by analyzing spoken speech. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method with a competent libat. In this case the writer described the results of his analysis. Researchers listen closely and listen to speech uttered by children, as well as researchers engage directly in communication activities and interact with children on the subject of research. Researchers ran a diagnostic analysis into the phonology landscape, with the majority of 3-year-olds removing or replacing the phones as they should. It is a fair one, since at age 3 an articulation and mastery of a child's language are not yet adequate, so it is best to tell a story and communicate well, for that is how the child has gained a new language.

Abstract

Artikel ini menjelaskan tentang analisis novel yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan unsur intrinsik yang ada pada novel Perempuan Di Titik Nol karya Nawal Elsaadawi ini. Sebuah penulisan karya sastra yang akan menarik apabila dipadukan dengan unsur intrinsik yang dapat menarik minat para pembaca di berbagai kalangan, baik itu anak-anak, remaja, orang dewasa dan orang tua. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah novel Perempuan Di Titik Nol karya Nawal Elsaadawi ini. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini yaitu untuk menunjukan keberanian seorang perempuan yang ingin haknya sama dengan laki-laki. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian Perempuan Di Titik Nol karya Nawal Elsaadawi ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa seorang perempuan yang berani mengungkapkan dan ingin disamaratakan dengan laki-laki, menggunakan alur mundur, dengan latar tempat. Sudut pandang yang digunakan orang pertama pelaku sampingan dan amanat yang terdapat dalam novel Perempuan Di Titik Nol karya Nawal Elsaadawi adalah membentuk suatu keberanian dalam jiwa perempuan yang membela dirinya sendiri dan mampu menghadapi kejamnya dunia luar dengan melawan rasa takut, rasa malu dan melawan kebohongan-kebohongan yang terjadi.

Abstract

The study, entitled the analysis of figures and characterizations in the drama "RT Nol RW Nol" by Iwan Simatupang, was motivated by the emergence of social criticism and conditions of marginalized society. This study aims to analyze the character and characterizations. The author concludes that the lives of small people, the homeless in the city, are not as bad as one might imagine. The method used is descriptive qualitative analysis. Data retrieval is done by reading, analyzing, and marking texts or sentences that belong to the characters and characterizations are done so that the characters in the drama are easy and characterizations are assessed and applied in the social life of the reader, with this research, the reader can implement in his social life don't give up easily, be patient, be generous and be people who know how to respect others. Like other community members, that they are citizens who are equally entitled to obtain their rights and dignity as citizens who are respected and recognized as well. The results of this research is there is social imbalance that occurs various conflicts caused by something that has an impact on social life. writer presents various characters in each character,and has succeeded in conveying what is happening in real life.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the use of learning methods that are not sometimes in accordance with the conditions and abilities of study. This study aimed to determine the effect of brainstorming technique through images to improve students’ ability to write descriptive texts. This research was condacted at one vocational school in Bandung the sample as 30 students. This research used quantitative method in collaborated with  pre-experimental designs. The data in this study were collected by using writing test; pre-test and post-test. The research using statistical analysis for analysis the data. Test result was analyse to know whether there was significant difference in learners writing ability after the teacher used brainstorming technique in teaching writing descriptive text. Based on data analysis, it was discovered that the learners writing ability had improved. The improvement was in different criteria and from the hypothesis testing result, it was tobserved = 11.4118 and tcritical = 2.0452 thus, there was significan difference in learners’ writing ability after the teacher used brainstorming techniquein teaching writing skill of deskrptive text.. This study result is expected to give contributions and new perpective for teacher in teaching  writing skill of descriptive text using brainstorming technique in improving learners’ writing skill.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis aspek stilistika salah satu karya sastra dari puisi “Selamat Pagi Indonesia” karya Sapardi Djoko Damono”. Lebih mendalam analisis akan mengarah pada citraan yang tergambar pada puisi tersebut. Stilistika adalah ilmu pemanfaatan bahasa dalam karya sastra. Gaya bahasa secara khusus dalam karya sastra melahirkan citraan tersendiri dari seorang pengarang. Citraan erat kaitannya dengan pancaindera manusia yang terdiri dari penglihatan, pendengaran, penciuman, perabaan, gerak, dan pencecapan. Harapannya melalui adanya efek tersebut, pesan puisi bisa tersampaikan oleh penulisnya. Dasar pengambilan keputusan penelitian ini adalah telaah citraan yang terkandung dalam puisi. Objek materil dari penelitian ini adalah puisi “Selamat Pagi Indonesia” karya Sapardi Djoko Damono. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan pendekatan stilistik dengan metode deskriptif analisis yang bertujuan untuk memberikan suatu fenomena secara analisis aspek stilistika puisi Selamat Pagi Indonesia dan menempatkan manusia (peneliti) sebagai subjek peneliti.  Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode dokumentasi serta observasi dengan membaca yang dilanjutkan pencatatan. Prosesnya melalui pencatatan hal-hal yang berhubungan dengan yang diteliti saja. Hasil penelitan yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa gaya bahasa pada puisi berjudul selamat pagi Indonesia mendukung fokus dalam penelitian ini, yakni kekhasan bahasa dan kepadatan bahassa yang sesuai untuk dikaji dengan stilistika. Puisi Sapardi berjudul Selamat Pagi Indonesia memang terlihat menggunakan diksi yang sederhana namun tidak melemahkan makna puisi tersebut. Hal ini terlihat pada penggunaan diksi dan citra dalam menggambarkan dan mengatakan gambaran mengenai situasi Indonesia kepada pembaca. Makna yang terkandung mewakili pandangan orang terhadap realita kehidupan masyarakat Indonesia melalui gambaran dari berbagai citraan seperti citraan penglihatan, pendengaran, perasaan, dan perabaan.

Abstract

Communication is carried out by many people, including students, not only directly, but can also be done through social media. Prokem language is also often used by students. This causes students difficulties in communicating formally and indirectly students reduce the character of language in themselves. The decline in language character is not only done face-to-face, but in social media too it has already been done. Thus, the objectives of this study are as follows: 1) to find out the extent to which the prokem language is used by students, 2) to describe the results of prokem language with a questionnaire via google form. 3) find out the impact of using prokem language on students. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques in the form of a questionnaire. The research respondents were carried out by 59 students. The results of this study indicate that 1) prokem language is accustomed to being used among students, 2) prokem language has been widely used in daily communication, 3) prokem language is not good enough to be used in formal situations or activities related to learning and in politeness of language is also lacking feasible, 4) prokem language among students is used on social media, both in conversation and making captions.

Abstract

Language is a form of sound symbol that is arranged regularly, by a number of components with rules that have meaning in each speech. If language has no meaning it will be more difficult to understand its meaning and purpose. So that with human language it will be easier to socialize. One of the development of children's abilities at an early age is language skills, even though the language speech is not yet perfect. This speech system will be more perfect as the child gets older. The purpose of this study is to analyze environmental factors that influence children's language development. This research uses storytelling method. The storytelling method is a way of conveying events, feelings, knowledge through improvised pictures, words, or sounds. The result of this research is that there is a mixture of language that is not synchronous when the child is invited to communicate. The loss of letters when pronouncing words and their pronunciation is not correct, because languages at this age are still in the development stage. Language is very important for all of us, especially in childhood it must be considered. Not paying attention will result in asynchronous language and word inaccuracies. The language taught by parents does not always have to use Indonesian, it needs to be familiarized with the language of the environment.

Abstract

This reseacrh is motivated by the phenomenon of speech which give effect to the speaker. The source of the utterance is derived from the instagram account Mr. Ridwan Kamil. Social media instagram has benefits as a means of providing information, messange, expression, and news. Through this research, the researcher will examine or fornulate speech caption contained in the instagram Ridwan Kamil. As this study aims to determine the type of speech act the caption contained in the accunt instagram Ridwan Kamil. Thype-the type of speech act is described by the reseacrhers. In addition, the reseacrher also aims to describe the intention of illocutionary speech acts which include the assertive, directive, expressive, commissive and declarative. The subject of this research is speech caption  in the account instagram Ridwan Kamil. The object of this research is the forms of illocutionary speech acts (assertives, directives, expressives, commissive and declarative) that are contained in the type of speech act. This research instument is the researcher himself by using documentation technique and technique select. Data collection techniques using select and documentation techniques. Data analysis used qualitative method. The results of the data described by the reseacrhes. Based on the results of the study concluded that in the caption accounts instagram Ridwan Kamil, there are speech acts of directive (commanding), illocutionary expressive (thank you), the illouctionary directive (giving advice), the illocutionary assertive (shows), and the illocutionary commissive (offer).

Abstract

This research is the result of a descriptive study that examines a short story entitled "Toa" by Herumawan P.A through Pierce's semitoic approach. In general, this study aims to determine the system of signs and implicit meanings that represent the correlation of meaning and moral life in the short story. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative using Pierce's semiotic theory which refers to icons, indexes, and symbols. The data source in this research is the short story text Toa by Putu Herumawan P.A. The data accumulation system used is a literature study  with analysys content, that is, to directly make an analysis. The data analysis system using analyzing system, the consists of three series of activity that occur continuously from data reduction and core conclusions.
