Abstract

The novelet "Obama Opapa" by Jessica Ali is one of the literary works that can be used as a source of positive reading for readers. The contents of this novelet are very interesting because the contents of the stories often occur in everyday life. Various moral problems in aspects of life are expressed by the author, especially those that occur in the social environment. The formulation of the research problem is what moral values are contained in the novelet? And what is the description of the research results? Thus the purpose of this study is to identify and describe the moral values contained in Jessica Ali's novelet entitled "Obama Opapa". Qualitative descriptive method is used to analyze moral values in this novelet. Reading, analyzing, and marking fragments are ways to obtain text that can be categorized as moral values. This method is done so that the moral values in the novelet are easily identified, easily understood, and can be applied to daily life by readers. From this research, it is found that the novelet "Obama Opapa" by Jessica Ali contains moral values, including being diligent in worshiping, admitting mistakes, being patient, and being passionate about life, so it is interesting to read by all groups, both adults and adolescents. After getting the results of this research, it is hoped that readers will get the moral values conveyed by the author.

Abstract

The politeness of the language becomes important in communicating. Politeness in communication is a must because it reflects someone being polite and polite in speaking. The politeness of language must be taught from childhood. One application is learning in schools. Short story as one of the subject matter which includes conversations that must also include the principle of politeness in language. The problem that will be discussed in this research is "How to use politeness in the short story titled Mr. Adil Looking for Justice by Gol A Gong?". This study aims to describe the use of politeness in language in a short story entitled Mr. Adil Seeking Justice by Gol A Gong. The method in this research uses descriptive method. The data used in this study is dialogue that contains politeness in language. The data collection techniques in this study used reading, note taking, library, and analysis techniques. Based on the results of the study concluded that in the short story titled Mr. Adil Seeking Justice meets the principles of politeness in language, including maxim of wisdom, maxim of simplicity, maxim of compatibility, maxim of generosity, and maxim of sympathy.

Abstract

This research discusses the problems of Code Switching and Code Mixing that occur in the speech title speech in Ini Talk Show. The purpose of this research was to describe the form of Code Switching and Code Mixing performed by speakers at the event. The method used by Researchers in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. In this Research, The role of The researcher is an instrument and data collector. The data collection technique is done by observing, listening, and taking notes. The results of the research found that code-switching and code-mixing were carried out by speakers at the event. Researchers found the Switching of Codes Internal from Indonesian into Sundanese. Switching of Codes External from Indonesian into English, English into Indonesian, Indonesian into Arabic, and from English into Javanese. Whereas Mix code researchers found in the form of words, phrases, baster, and clause. Factors that cause Code Switching are motivated by speakers, interlocutors, the presence of a third person, and to generate a sense of humor. Meanwhile, code-mixing is motivated by the language of the speaker and interlocutor, and tries to interpret or explain.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum is a curriculum that has been established by the government in the world of education in Indonesia. Fable literature is one of the teaching material that is learned in class VII even semester. This research is based on the researchers' curiosity on the implementation of scientific approaches and media images in learning fable text in class. The thing measured in this study is student learning outcomes after the application of learning with the methods and media that have been used. The reason for this research is to find out the implementation of scientific approaches and media images on learning fable texts. Subject analyzed was 33 people in VII B class. From data collection resulted by multiple choice based test as much as 10 questions, the data was generated about 20 people fulfilling the threshold criteria with percentage of 60,6% while the other 13 people did not fulfill the threshold criteria with percentage of 39,4%. Most of the students made mistakes in answering question 3 and question 5. From all 33 students, there are 14 students that answered question 3 correctly and 11 students that answered question 5 correctly. The implementation of scientific approach with flashcard/picture to students lerning outcomes has been successfully applied in the field. It was could be seen through measuring result that has been done at the end of learning fable texts.

Abstract

Film is a literary work that is audiovisual, can bring up a picture, image of motion along with sound recorded through the media, so that it has a narrative meaning that is understood by the audience. Film is considered as a very effective learning communication medium for all ages, both for the community and students. This research is based because many films are not suitable to be watched, especially for students, so that research is needed as a measure of eligibility for a film. One of the interesting films to study is the film "Jokowi" by director Azhar Kinoi Lubis on the grounds that this film is watched in many Indonesian cinemas. The formulation of the problem to be investigated is the intrinsic and extrinsic elements contained in the Jokowi film. This study aims to get an overview of the intrinsic and extrinsic elements contained in the Jokowi film so that it can draw conclusions about the feasibility of this film. Researchers used a qualitative descriptive method by telling the conclusions of Jokowi's film, whether this film was appropriate or not watched by students

Abstract

This article aims to describe the characterizations and personalities of the main characters in Putu Wijaya's Tua monologue script. Tua monologue manuscript was chosen because this manuscript has a main character with a complex nature so that the author is interested in researching it. This type of research used in this research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. This study uses a literary psychology approach using Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory and personality typology. The data source in this study is the Tua monologue by Putu Wijaya. The data collection technique used is library research or content analysis, which is to directly observe and look for the identity and description of the characters and characterizations. The data analysis technique uses flow analysis technique, which consists of three activities that occur simultaneously, namely data reduction and conclusion drawing. The results of the analysis show: (1) in the main character (Aku) there are five characteristics, namely analytical, sensitive, resigned, pessimistic and timid; (2) the impulse of the id in me is marked when he is curious about the background of the presence of a shadow that often appears and makes him anxious. Superego response is marked when the character (Aku) hopes for God's hand to help him be free from guilt. From the analysis of my personality, also found the melancholy type in (Aku).

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe the intrinsic elements and moral values contained in the novel "Rentang Stories" published in 2017. This novel is the first work of a YouTube content creator, blogger, book writer, social media influencer, and Indonesian feminist named Gita Savitri Devi. . This research is motivated because the discussion in the novel has the meaning of life that is able to motivate and inspire the reader. Research on the intrinsic elements and moral values of the novel has not been studied before so that researchers have the opportunity to analyze the novel in detail. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study indicate that the novel "Rentang Stories" by Gita Savitri Devi has intrinsic elements, including: themes, namely a series of life journeys that will mature humans, the main character has a very strong character, uses back and forth or mixed plots, uses a person's point of view First, it has a setting of place, time, and atmosphere. The message or mandate conveyed in the novel "Rentang Stories" is the achievement of the journey of life not only about success in achieving desires and wealth, but also the way humans are able to enjoy and be grateful for God's gifts. The moral values contained include: respecting parents, studying hard, understanding women's obligations, khusnudzon to God, and compassion for fellow human beings.Keywords: Analysis of Intrinsic Elements, Moral Values, Novels “Rentang Kisah” of Gita Savitri Devi AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan unsur intrinsik dan nilai moral yang terkandung dalam novel “Rentang Kisah” yang diterbitkan pada 2017. Novel tersebut merupakan karya pertama dari seorang kreator konten youtube, blogger, penulis buku, pemengaruh media sosial, dan feminis Indonesia yang bernama Gita Savitri Devi. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena pembahasan dalam novel memiliki makna kehidupan yang mampu memotivasi dan menginspirasi pembaca. Penelitian terhadap unsur intrinsik dan nilai moral terhadap novel tersebut belum banyak diteliti sebelumnya sehingga peneliti berkesempatan menganalisis novel secara mendetail. Metode penelitian yang digunakan, yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa novel “Rentang Kisah” karya Gita Savitri Devi memiliki unsur intrinsik, antara lain: tema, yaitu serangkaian perjalanan hidup yang akan mendewasakan manusia, tokoh utama memiliki karakter sangat kuat, menggunakan alur maju mundur atau campuran, menggunakan sudut pandang orang pertama, memiliki latar tempat, waktu, dan suasana. Pesan atau amanat yang disampaikan dalam novel “Rentang Kisah” adalah pencapaian dari perjalanan hidup tidak hanya tentang sukses mencapai keinginan dan kekayaan saja, melainkan cara manusia mampu menikmati dan mensyukuri pemberian tuhan. Adapun nilai moral yang terkandung diantaranya: menghormati orang tua, giat belajar, paham kewajiban perempuan, khusnudzon pada Tuhan, dan kasih sayang kepada sesama manusia.Kata Kunci: Analisis Unsur Intrinsik, Nilai Moral, Novel “Rentang Kisah” Karya Gita Savitri Devi

Abstract

Using Tiktok as a medium for teaching Indonesian to seventh-grade junior high school students was the primary goal of this study. Researchers were inspired to conduct this study because to students' growing use of social media, which led them to focus on Tiktok as a platform for learning process activities in this digital age. Additionally, this study aims to find out how students feel about the use of Tiktok as a learning tool for Indonesian. For future learning, the degree of responses and reactions of students to the teaching medium may be used as a guide for future learning. An internet-based distribution of media response surveys was used to gather data for this study, which used a descriptive quantitative research technique The average percentage score for all indicators is then calculated, and the results are matched with the response categories obtained, using the Likert scale (1-5) results. Students from SMPN 1 Batujajar received an average of 85 percent on the overall indicators. Using Tiktok as a medium for studying Indonesian seems to be a success for the learner. However, pupils will be more interested and confident after using media if the presentation of video displays and the structure of information dissemination are given special care.

Abstract

The utterances that occur in every dialogue in the novel often have various purposes or intentions that are certainly not the same as the real one. Likewise, conversations in novels cannot be separated from the power of imagination built by the author which makes the reader have to analyze the hidden meanings in each story. Thus, it can be said that the speech in every dialogue of the novel has an implied purpose. This research is an implicature study through the use of pragmatic studies which aims to describe the types of implicatures in the novel "Dear Nathan" by Erisca Febriani. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The subject of this research is the novel "Dear Nathan" by Erisca Febriani. Data is collected by analyzing, reviewing, and recording documents (content analysis), then processing the data objectively regarding the meaning and types of implicatures. The results obtained from this study include the types of implicatures in the novel "Dear Nathan" by Erisca Febriani, namely directive, representative, commissive, expressive, and declaration speech acts.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that the lack of students' writing skills is especially difficult in expressing ideas, ideas and messages in their writings. In this study, the researcher chose an inspirational story text as the topic of discussion. The purpose of this research is to train students to be able to compose inspirational story texts according to the structure and rules of the language. So that students can compose inspirational story texts here using youtube videos in learning inspirational story texts, it is hoped that the youtube videos will make it easier for students to write inspiring story texts and be able to reflect on their ideas and ideas. Another purpose of this study is to determine the impact for students of using YouTube videos on learning inspirational story texts. Researchers use qualitative methods as an analysis that will disassemble the findings with a dividing instrument. The results of the study prove that students are better able to express ideas because they are the result of inspiring videos on YouTube and provide an active atmosphere in the learning process.
