Abstract

Writing one of the language skills that require practice to be mastered well. Writing requires skills such as word choice, paragraph linkage, language style and so on. In learning of Indonesian class X there is writing prose which one of them is prose description. Monitoring of Indonesian language learning in SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru, learners have problems in writing materials, especially the prose description which is evidenced by the low average value. This research is focused to know process of applying guided training method assisted image media in improving writing skill description. Proposed formulation is how the implementation of guided training methods help image media in improving ability to write essay writing description of students. Purpose of study to describe implementation of guided training methods assisted image media in improving ability to write essay description of students. This research is a type of Classroom Action Research by using method of observation, test results, questionnaires and documentation with data sources ie students of class X SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru with the number of students 32 people. Average value of students in the pre-cycle stage of 72, 91. After an action on cycle I, average student score rose 5.65 to 78.56. Next on cycle II, it increased by 49.8 to 85.28. The results obtained in cycle I using image media show an increase. Questionnaire assessment shows that the result of students' level of enthusiasm increases and students are able to focus more on learning process because of proper writing stages for students.

Abstract

This research entitled "Analysis of Teacher Questions in Learning at SMA Negeri 2 Kerinci Kanan Siak District. The question intended in this study is a stimulus that encourages learners to think and learn (Nasution, 2012: 161). The problem of this research is, What kind of Teacher Question in Learning in SMA Negeri 2 Kerinci Kanan Siak Regency? And how to classify cognitive level questions. This study aims to describe, analyze, interpret, and conclude (1) types of questions; And (2) classification of cognitive level of questions based on bloom taxonomy Teachers in Learning at SMA Negeri 2 Kerinci Kanan Siak District. This study uses the theory of teaching or learning by taking concepts and opinions from various sources. The theory proposed by Zainal Asril (2012), J.J. Hasibuan and Moedjiono (2008), Buchari Alma (2012), Hamid Darmadi (2012), S. Nasution (2012) and Uzer Usman (2010). The results of this study are: first: the type of question used by the type of questions teachers in the process of learning SMA N 2 Kerinci Kanan Siak regency the highest question type of use is the question of digging (J4) as many as 63 questions or (56%), followed by query questions as much as 50 Questions or (44%), while the rhetorical (J2) and directing (J3) type questions are not found or not used by teachers in learning at SMAN 2 Kerinci Kanan Siak District. Second: Question classification used by teacher type in learning process at SMA N 2 Kerinci Kanan Siak Regency according to Bloom's taxonomy are: Knowledge (preccal question) (C1) obtained dta as many as 87 questions or 77%, understanding or comprehension question (C2) of 20 Question or 18%, application or aplication question (C3) not found or not used by teacher in process of learning, analysis or analysis question (C4) as much as 6 question or 5%. The questionnaire of synthetic question questionnaire (C5) and evaluation question (C6) was not found in this study.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the teaching of Malay in Tenas Effendy’s Poem as a base of character education. Poem contains various contents, mainly meaningful stories and a variety of religious advice that could be used as a reference in daily life. Therefore, indirectly, poetry is a base for character education not only because of the values inside, but also because of the strategies for the local wisdom preservation. The theory used Kemendiknas (2010), Effendy (2013), dan Syafri (2014). This paper is descriptive-analytic with descriptive qualitative method. The data sources are Tunjuk Ajar Melayu books from Tenas Effendy (2013). Based on the analysis, it can be indicated that the Teaching of Malay from Tenas Effendy Tenas Poem contributed to character education. The points that contributed to character education are religious value, social care, discipline, honesty, independence, responsibility, love peace, tolerance, caring environment, friendly/communicative, democratic, hard work, and curiosity.

Abstract

The application of learning model, methode, and the technique in every learning process would create the better atmosphere in classroom and students’ activity. One of the methods that could be used was Poster Comment Method. This method was used in Classrom Action Research with the subject was Science and the material was Environmental Change in grade IV SDN 012 Koto Kari. The purpose of this research was to represent how the learning result improved as the Poster Comment Method was applied in Science with the material was Environmental Change in grade IV SDN 012 Koto Kari. This research used four steps of Classroom Action Research; planning, proceeding, observing, and reflecting. One cycle consisted those four steps while the research was done in two cycles. The result showed in beginning data, there were only 9 students passed or 47%. After the treatment was given, in cycle 1 it showed that 15 students or 78% students passed, and finally in the second cycle the data increased to be 18 students or 95% students passed out of 18 students.

Abstract

Teaching and learning process was basically a communication process between teacher as courier of message while student as recipient. The message, delivered by the teacher, was actually the learning materials that had been changed into communication symbol, verbally and non verbally. Indonesian languange held the important role in students’ intelectual, sosial, and emotional development and also the supporting success in learning all subjects. The learning result could be seen from how many students could pass subjects’ minimum score. A low learning result in Indonesia languange subject should be a consideration for learning planner. To improve students learning result, teacher made enhancement. One of the methods could be used for enhancement was using comic in Indonesian language subject so it couold create a condusive condition. Conducive condition was a condition where students engaged to the learning process and they were active during teaching-learning process. Indonesian language comic was interesting for them especially the pictures on it. The most important thing that students (with the help of teacher) could construct knowledge and also got so many producers and they could solve the problem given. After the treatment was given, the learning result was satisfied where 18 out of 22 students (81,8%) passed, while the rest of them did not pass yet. The students who did not pass were the students with low ability and not really active in class.

Abstract

Low learning activity on Math in SDN 006 Pangkalan Indarung Kec. Kuantan Tengah Kab. Kuansing caused the low learning result, which meant the students could not pass the minimum score decided by the school. To improve Math learning activity and the result, Classroom Action Activity research was done by using PAKEM learning. This research was done in two cycles. Every cycle had two meetings with four steps of each meeting, there were planning, proceeding, observing, and reflecting. The data was analyzed by deciding the number and percentage of participated students in every meeting. The result showed that the learning activity and result improved where at the beginning data there were only 7 out of 32 students passed. After the treatment was done, in cycle I the learning result has significant improvement with 21 students (66%) passed, the mean score was 74,4 and in cycle II there were 28 students passed with the mean score was 89,7. In the end of cycle II, there were 30 students brave to ask, 29 students were active to find the learning material, 29 students were creative in giving the idea, 28 students finished the task in time, and 30 students showed their spirit of learning. So, it can be concluded that PAKEM approach can be used to improve students’ learning activity and the result.

Abstract

The research was motivated by the findings on Science learning process about light properties where there were only 50% students who passed the minimal mastery score. To improve the score, the experiment method was applied. The objective of this research was to improve students’ learning result in SD N 011 Pulau Kedundung grade V. This research was based on four steps of Classroom Action Research; planning, proceeding, observing, and reflecting. It was done in two cycles. The result of the research showed there was significant improvement in cycle 1 that 80% students passed the score and in cycle 2, 100% students passed. It can be concluded that the use of experiment method could improve students’ learning result SD N 011 Pulau Kedundung grade V in Science learning about light properties.

Abstract

The design of this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The purpose of this study is to improve the learning methods and student learning outcomes. Previously, there were still a few cases of low score of grade VII students of state Junior High School 2 (SMP Negeri 2) Tapung that is below the standard of Maximum Exhaustiveness Criteria (KKM). KKM has been determined by the school that is 70. the effort done either choosing the strategies or methods has been implemented, but not succeeded. From that point, the effort to improve the learning outcomes of teachers is by using peer methods. Through peer methods it is expected that their learning outcomes can increase because students feel free to express their opinions with peers and they do not feel reluctant and ashamed. This research was conducted with two cycles. Before conducting research the writer conducted survey. With the test, the purpose is to know how far the mastery of the students over the material given by the teacher. At the pre-cycle stage is complete score 24.00% and not complete 76.00%. In the first cycle, it increased to complete score 60.00% and incomplete 40.00%, while in the second cycle the score increased to 92.00% with complete score and incomplete one is 8.00%. According to the average of pre cycle rate of 61.00%, which is the first cycle is 78.00%, and the second cycle becomes 90.00% .thus it can be concluded that peer method can improve student learning outcomes at Junior High School 2 (SMP Negeri 2) Tapung.

Abstract

Reading is an activity to understand reading material effectively. Reading became the biggest problem for students these days. This is due to a lack of reading motivation and a lack of awareness of reading needs. Students more often open handpone applications rather than books. Such conditions affect the learning of reading courses for students in the first level. To create a more enjoyable reading activity, it needs to be utilized and combined with the blanded learning by using edmodo group application. Edmodo group is a social media as a means of liaison between students, teachers, and parents. Edmodo is also used as a learning electronic e-learning platform. This research is formulated by how is the utilization of blanded learning edmodo group in reading activity? The purpose of this research is to know the utilization of edmodo group in reading. This research is a kind of qualitative research with descriptive method of data presentation. Data collection techniques in this study using a questionnaire which analyzing simple description percentage. The results of this study are providing a fun learning method, making the relationship of lecturers with students to be closer, facilitate communication between lecturers and students, learning can be done anytime, as a suggestion to share knowledge and knowledge with new people, and as a media completion of exercises, and quiz.

Abstract

In some university students’ project papers, violations of rules of Indonesian language grammar are still found. The ignorance to write a grammatically correct project paper on an ongoing basis will adversely affect the quality of the students' writing. A good project paper, both its content and language use provides an overview of the insights of the students. Students must equip their cognitives in order to be able to understand the concept of the language well. This becomes the basis of observation of violation of Indonesian language rules in student's project papers of Universitas Riau through. The method used in this research is the qualitative descriptive method. The focus of observation is on the beginning parts of the project papers especially dealing. The research findings reveal that some disobedience of rules of spelling and punctuation, namely: disobedience academic title, name of the self, shortening, preposition, word absorption, foreign word, numbering, reduplication, separation marks, commas, and spaces.
