Abstract

One of the oral traditions of Pelalawan people loaded with character values ​​is the Long Chant of the Bujang Si Undang. In the long song Bujang Si Undang depicted portrait of ideal character of pelalawan people who can be guided as effort to maintain local wisdom of Petalangan society. This paper aims to describe the value of character education contained in the Legend of the Legal Bujang Si. Techniques performed in analyzing data using content analysis (content analysis). The result of the research shows that Singing Long Bujang Si Undang has educational content of character value. Educational values ​​of the characters contained in the Legend of Singles Long Leg there are five, namely the character of faith and cautious, honest, intelligent, resilient, and caring. Character education in Long Singing Sing song with the focus of faith and cautious reflected from the character of obedience to parents and mandate. The value of character education with honest focus is depicted from the honest character and responsibility. The education of the character's character with the focus of the intelligent character is depicted from the virtue character of demanding science and openness. Educational values ​​of characters with strong character focus are depicted from the character of hard work, diligent, and diligent, independent, confident, and courageous. Educational values ​​of characters with a focus of caring character depicted from sincere character, willing to sacrifice, affection, mutual cooperation, and spirit of unity.

Abstract

The basis of the emergence of this research is the lack of observers or language researchers who will arouse the local language khasanah, namely Banjar Hulu language. Upstream Banjar Language is a language used by the people of Suhada Village Enok District Indragiri Hilir Regency Riau. The Banjar Hulu language is used as the majority language used by the people of Indragiri Hilir Regency Riau. However, due to the flow of modernization and assimilation will threaten the extinction and contamination of the Banjar Hulu language. Therefore, this research is expected to maintain and maintain the authenticity of Banjar Hulu language, so it is necessary to do research. This study focuses on the structure of verb phrases. With related issues about the shape or structure of the verb phrase. The purpose of the study is to describe in detail the structure of the Banjar Hulu language verb phrase. This research is a field research with qualitative type. This research was conducted in Suhada Village, Enok Sub-district, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau with research time for six months. The method used to collect data is by the technique of referring libat ably. The data of this research is phrase construction that comes from the speech of research informant. Data analyzing is done by technique of reduction, disply, and conclusion data. The results showed that there are various verbal phrases. This kevariasian found verbal language phrases Banjar Hulu language based on the class of formers and verbal phrase forming function, namely coordinative verbal phrases, modifikatif, and apositif. The results of this study are the first structure of verbal phrases based on the word class; (v) Verbal Phrase {V + Ajk}, (c) Verbal Phrases {Adv + V}, (d) Verbal Phrases {V + Prepositions}, (e) ) Verbal Phrases {V; (ba- + N) + pronomina}, (f) Verbal Phrases {V; (b) + A}, (g) Verbal Phrases {V; (b + + N) + N}. The two structures of the verbal phrase are based on the function of the constituent elements, which include (a) Coordinative Verbal Phrases, (b) Modifikattive Verb Phrases, (c) Apositive Verb Phrases.

Abstract

Classroom action research has been done in SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang Kota on Indonesian Language subjects with research object of class XI MIA 4 in odd semester 2016/2017. This study was conducted as an effort to improve the learning ability of Indonesian for students of class XI MIA 4. STAD type was chosen to be applied after through observation and reflection conducted by the researcher. Researchers plan actions based on observations and reflections that have been done through the preparation of STAD type learning based learning tools consisting of Cycle I / test questions, and Cycle II test/test, observation sheet and lesson plan and other supporting learning tools. The implementation of STAD type cooperative learning in the learning process through the preparation stage, class presentation, group activities, carry out evaluation, group awards and recalculate basic scores and group changes. This study can be completed in 2 cycles 6 meetings, at meeting 3 and 6 meeting conducted test / repeat and complete recapitulation of learning showed that there has been an increase of positive student learning activity in class and increasing of test mean (repetition) and also increase of classical completeness from cycle I with cycle II. Student activity during the learning process is observed by the observer as data for evaluation and reflection. Average recapitulation of test (repetition) and learning completeness obtained from the value of the test in cycle 1 and the value of tests in cycle 2. Based on the results of research can be concluded that the application of learning with STAD type in class XI MIA 4 SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang City able to improve learning outcomes subjects Indonesian language is indicated by the average test (repetition) and classical completeness in every cycle.

Abstract

Music is not only about combination between tone and lyrics. If the combination is balance, the song will be qualified. Nowadays, music is not only about a right rhythm and melody, but the message as the song writer offers will be essential. The song writer must pay attention to the correlation between lyrics and contect which become a contectual meaning. The problem that raised in this research are 1) how the grammatical cohesion which contains in song Begadang from H. Rhoma Irama, 2) what kind of contectual which contain in the lyrics of this song Begadang from H. Rhoma Irama. This research is aimed to analyze element of grammatical cohesion and contectual meaning in lyric of Begadang song from H. Rhoma Irama. Descriptive, and qualititative orientation were used in this research. All of the lyrics of Begadang song became the data of this research. Abstract

This study of “Morpheme Malay Riau Dialect Of Siak In The Village OfUnisow Subdistrict Sabak Auh Siak, Riau Province”. The problem in this research is how the morphemes are bound, which are in malay Riau Province? This study iams to collect, analyze, deserige and concluede morpheme bound contained in the Malay Riau dialect of Siak in the Village Of Unison Subdistrict Sabak Auh Siak Regency Of Riau Province. The main data souvees in dualitative research is the speech of informans who originated from the Malay Riau Dialect Of Siak In The Village Of Unision Subdististrict Sabak Auh Siak Regency Of Riau Province. The data obtained in this study is a morpheme gound to that contained in the utterance that is pronounced by the informant. The method that I use in the implementation of this research method descriptive. Data collection techniques this research uses observasion techniques, interviews, recordings, listen and record. From the results obtained it can be concluded that the morpheme malay Riau dialect of Siak in the village of unison Subdistrict Sabak Auh Siak regency of Riau Province consists of (1) Prefix (prefix), hit, search, split, divide, paint, crusty, hanging, gilard, forgetful, destroyer, for, will, (2) Infiks (insert), bars, cruising (3) suffixes (ending), love, reconcile, food, (4) confix (prefix and suffix), cleverness, planning, coming.

Abstract

This re search entitled persuasive techniques in a sussessful book without the title of Andrias Harefa work. The problem of research, how persuasive techniques, rationalization, identification, suggestion, conformity, compensation, replacement and projection in a successful book without a degree of work Andrias Harefa? Aims to describe, analyze, and intepret persuasive techniques, rationalization, identification, suggestion, conformity, compensation, replacement and projection in a successful book without the title of work Andrias Harefa. This research uses the theory proposed by Gorys Keraf 2004, using descriptive method. Data and data sources in this study is the contents of a successful book without the title Andrias Harefa work in 2005. This research method descriptive method, research type that is literature, and research approach that is qualitative. Data collection techniques used by the author is to classify data, analyze data, interpret data, and draw conclusions. Result of research about persuasive technique in success book without title of work of Andrias Harefa found existence persuasive technique counted 47 data or equal to 100% of them, rationalization used Andrias Harefa equal to 3 data or egual to 7%, identification used Andrias Harefa 31 data or equivalent to 67%, the suggestion used Andrias Harefa of 3 data or equaivalent to 7 %, the conformity used Andrias Harefa as much as 3 data or equivalent to 7%, replacement used Andrias Harefaas many as 4 data or equivalent to 9%, the projection used Andrias Harefa as much as 1 data or equivalent to 2%. Thus it can be concluded that the persuasive technique used by Andrias Harefa in a successful book without a title is more dominant using the technique of persuasive identification because a successful book without the title of work Andrias Harefa tends to use spsesial and interesting things to influence the reader, followed by replacemet, rationalization, suggestion, conformity, compensation, and projection.

Abstract

This study focuses on the ability to write words in Malay Arabic script. This research problem is formulated about the ability to write two syllables and lebid from two syllables in Malay Arabic script. The purpose of the study is to describe in detail the ability to write Malay Arabic words and apply proper word-writing principles in Malay Arabic script. This research is a field research with quantitative type. This research was conducted in Language Education and Literature Program Indonesia FKIP Islamic University of Riau. The method used to collect data is by the test technique. The data of this research is the result of word writing skill test and applying correct wording principle in Malay Arabic script obtained from randomly taken sample of research. Analyzing data is done with the mean technique. The result of this research concludes that the ability of writing Arabic Malay words of students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Islamic University of Riau is categorized with percentage of 71.72%. Furthermore, the ability to write Malay Arabic words of the students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Studies Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Islamic University of Riau based on two syllables categorized with a percentage of 72.09% and based on the word syuku words more than two words low category ie 64.36% .

Abstract

Writing ability is one of the demands of learning English. However, writing is also the most difficult skill faced by high school students in the city of Pekanbaru. For this reason, the learning model should be appropriate in accordance with the age development and problems faced by students. Thus, the authors attempted to analyze; (1) the effect of blended learning on students’ writing ability; (2) the effectof language attitude on students’ writing ability; and (3) the effect of blended learning model and language attitude on students’ writing ability. Referring to the problems and purposes of this study, the author used a quantitative approach namely the experimental method with factorial design. The research was conducted at SMAN 6 Pekanbaru by using a random sampling technique. To measure students' writing ability, the researchersemployed a writing test. Whereas to obtain information or collect data related to language attitude in this study, the researchers distributed questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. After collecting data, researchers tested the data and hypotheses using SPSS 21. In this study, data was normally distributed and the population was homogeneous so that hypothesis testing could be continued. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, this study could be concluded that; (1) there was an effect of blended learning on students’ writing ability; (2) there was an effectof language attitude on students’ writing ability; and (3) there was no effect of blended learning model and language attitude on students’ writing ability.

Abstract

This study presents a related problem about the compound verbs in the Banjar Hulu language. Banjar language is the language used by the people of Indragiri Hilir Regency Riau. At present the state of the Banjar Hulu language is contaminated with modern culture and technology. Therefore, an in-depth study of the language of Banjar Hulu is needed. The problem that is examined is related to the form of the compound verb Banjar Hulu. The purpose of this study was to describe and explain in detail about the compound verbs in the Banjar Hulu language. This research is a type of field research using descriptive method. The research data is in the form of words spoken by the informant, with competent involvement data collection techniques. Data validation is done by triangulating the source by analyzing data regarding the original form and basic form. The results of this study are the discovery of the first basic compound verbs (a) basic compound verbs with the second noun component, (b) compound verbs with the first component adjectives, (c) basic compound verbs with the second component adjectives, (d) basic compound verbs with the first component adverb, (e) basic compound verb with both verb components. The two affiliated compound verbs; (a) affiliated compound verbs with the base of the components, (b) affixed compound verbs with the base of the free form, (c) affixed compound verbs with the two beraphyx components. The three compound verbs repeated.

Abstract

Learning styles are the ways, attitudes, and habits undertaken by students to gain comfort in learning. In this case, the researcher analyzed the foreign students’ learning style from Thailand who are studying at the Islamic University of Riau. The result of study showed that foreign students’ learning style from Thailand tended to use Kinesthetic learning style. This was based on research findings, learning style that has the highest value of kinestetik with an average of 84.6%, followed by an auditory learning style with an average of 76.9% and then visual learning style with an average of 61.5 %. As the findings in research are: First, for visual learning style students prefered to use the media in the lecture process. They were more able to concentrate when the lecturer explains the lecture material when looking at the face. Students could not memorize the material while listening to music. Students understood the material written on the board rather than read more quickly. Second, for auditory learning style, students prefered their lecturers by using lecture method. Students more easily remembered well the lecture material during the discussion. Students will lose concentration, when they heard a noise. Students prefered to discuss with friends if they find problems learning. Third, for students' kinesthetic learning styles along with. Students were more interested in lectures that are in practice. Students memorized the material while walking more dominant. when studying students could not read quickly. The findings could certainly be an input for educators in order to absorb, organize, and suit the learning strategies with learning styles, so as to show good learning outcomes and will be in accordance with lecture objectives
