Abstract

The research aimed at finding out (1) The effectiveness of peer reviewing in enhancing the writing competence of the students of STAIN Watampone. (2) The writing components: content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanics in that are mostly affected in the use of peer reviewing technique. This research applied a quasi-experimental method to two groups. The experimental group applied peer reviewing technique while the control group applied self assessment technique. The subjects of this research were the students of the fourth semester English Department of STAIN Watampone. The sample was chosen by applying cluster random sampling technique. In collecting data, the researcher used writing test in pretest and posttest. The data that was used in the form of quantitative data in the form of test results to write argumentative text. Then the results were analyzed by T-Test and ANOVA analysis using SPSS version 20 Program. The results of the analysis of the data showed that (1) peer reviewing techniques can enhance the quality of learning outcomes and process of writing argumentative text. It was proved by the mean score of posttest of experimental group was 75.16 while mean score of post test of control group was 68.85. The mean score of posttest was higher than the mean score of pretest (75.16>68.85). (2) The writing component was most affected of the use of peer reviewing was content (M: 22.05).

Abstract

Teachers are professional educators with the main task of educating, teaching, guiding, directing, training, evaluating, and evaluating students in early childhood education through formal education, basic education, and secondary education. Teachers are positions or professions that require special skills as teachers . Furthermore, in exercising its professional authority, teachers are required to have a diverse set of abilities. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the professional standard of a teacher in carrying out his duties and responsibilities as a teacher, educator, and trainer so as to be able to realize the goals of national education, namely people who have faith and fear and have knowledge. Thus, the ideals of national development can be realized with the existence of quality human resources.

Abstract

This research is an ex-post facto study that is correlational in nature to find a causal relationship between self-management and mathematics learning achievement of eighth grade students in SMP Negeri 3 Watampone, Bone Regency. The hypothesis of this study is that there is a positive relationship between self-management and mathematics learning achievement of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Watampone. The population of this study was the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Watampone Bone Regency and the sample in this study was 122 students.The data collection technique carried out in this study was derived from self-management questionnaires distributed to 122 respondents and report card grades in mathematics subjects of SMP Negeri 3 Watampone. The results of this study reveals that the average self-management score of students is 3.67 which is in the high category with an interval of 3.4 ≤X <4.2. While the average value of student learning achievement is 80 which is in the good category with an interval score of 61 - 80. From the results of hypothesis testing shows that the correlations obtained a significant value of 0,000 (0,000≤ 0,05) which means self-management is positively related to achievement study mathematics class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Watampone, Bone Regency.

Abstract

The concept of Ibnu Maskawaih's education about the power and humanity of human thinking, he conclude that in humans there are three forces, they are: an-nafs al-bahimiyah (animal passions) is worse force, an-nafs as-sabu’iyah (lust beast) in the middle force, and an-nafs an-nathiqiyah (intelligent soul) is good force. His concept of moral education is the obligatory education for each individual to sharp the power and capabilities of the human. According to his concept, environment will affect the education. Then, a good environment is the environment in which there is a harmonious relationship between all the components that exist in the environment. The concept of Ibn Khaldun's education about the power and ability of human thought that he laid the ratio (reason) at its central point. With human ratio, human can think and can produce science. In the process of education, morality is very important, therefore it cannot educate in a violent manner. Therefore, his thinking challenged the environment that the environment greatly influenced the human in carrying out his social function in the midst of society.

Abstract

Supervision is a professional supervision, because it is also more specific in addition to observing academic activities that are based on scientific ability, and the approach is no longer the usual management supervision, but more demanding democratic and humanistic professional abilities by education supervisions. Supervision carried out by supervisors using group techniques, namely through activities such as: orientation meetings, teacher meetings, group studies between teachers, discussions as an exchange of thoughts or opinions, workshops, sharing of experiences, panel discussions, seminars and symposiums. In addition to group supervision techniques used also use individual techniques. Individual supervision techniques used by supervisors in carrying out teaching supervision programs such as class visits, classroom observations, intervisitation, self-assessment, teaching demonstrations, and supervision bulletins. Based on the implementation of various academic supervision techniques, the teacher is expected to have competence so that the learning process is conducive.

Abstract

This research is an explanation which shows that Islamic Education (PAI) teacher must have competenced such as pedagogic, social, personality, propesionalisme, in carrying out the learning process of PAI teacher, before implementing learning firstly arrange the lesson plan, and evaluate it. The Cultivation of Moral Value conducted by the teacher of PAI, doing the study of the Qur'an, pesantren kilat, and social service. Supporting and inhibiting factors are teachers, curriculum, parent participation, family environment, community environment, and the flow of modern globalization. The solution of parent's cooperation with teachers in instilling the values of good and / or honorable both in school and family and anticipate the association in public life. The implications of this research are: 1) The general teachers and teachers of PAI in particular, to further improve the competence and methods in learning, 2) The efforts that have been done by PAI Teacher in instilling the values of the noble character of the learners who are deemed to be effective are worthy to be maintained and developed. 3) The obstacles faced in the effort to cultivate the values of morals in the students must always diminimasir always evaluate, with improving learning facilities, establish cooperation and active communication between teachers, local government and local communities.

Abstract

Supervisors of Islamic Education (PAI) have a very important role in improving the quality of education both in terms of process and output. Its position as supervisor of PAI subjects in schools to support the implementation of the PAI teacher's duties. The main task is to plan supervision, foster, monitor, and assess the implementation of learning PAI, and prepare supervisor report. Function as a supervisor to carry out academic supervision for teachers PAI. The results of supervision will be the evaluation material to carry out the guidance of PAI teachers. Given the importance of the PAI supervisory duties, it is deemed necessary to optimize the position, the main duty and function so that the PAI supervisor is not considered an unnecessary position. This optimization involves enhancing local government and ministerial cooperation in managing the division of supervisory tasks, developing the profession of PAI supervisors, and making PAI supervisors the first priority to be equipped with the latest knowledge and information related to Islamic religious education.

Abstract

This research shows the importance of applying character education to extracurricular activities through habituation methods. Extracurricular activities are educational activities outside the subjects to assist the development of students according to their needs, potential, talents, and interests through activities specifically organized by capable educators or education staff who have authority in schools. Therefore, in order to accelerate the implementation of character education as a reflection of the implementation of national education goals, namely by applying character education into the curriculum of educational institutions or extracurricular activities through habituation methods that aim to develop potential, talent, interest, ability, personality, cooperation and independence optimally students who in the end have good character.

Abstract

This research presents research about Applying Student Talking Time Method in Communicative Activity to Improve the Students’ speaking skill at Pesantren Putri Al-Manawwarah Panyili. The objectives of the research are: 1) to know wether Student Talking Time improve the students’ speaking skill of pesantren putri Al-Manawwarah. 2) To know the use of Student Talking Time interested in teaching speaking of the second grade student of SMA Pesantren Putri Al-Manawwarah Panyili. This research used quantitative method. The result of the study shown that there was a significant improvement of the students’ skill after giving the treatment. From the data, it could be conclude that teaching speaking by applying Student Talking Time method in communicative activity is effective to improve students speaking skill and improve students’ motivation in studying speaking.

Abstract

Regression analysis is frequently used to study forecasting and relation between some variables. In studying forecasting and relation between some variables using regression, needed the best model. This research aim to multiple regression modelling for data in emotional intelligence studies and applied to the case for identified of factors influence the student emotional intelligence in Institut Agama Islam Negeri Bone. The research objective was knowledge the best regression linear model and factors influence to the emotional intelligence. The results showed the best regression linear model to knowledge influence factors of the student emotional intelligence in Institut Agama Islam Negeri Bone is, i = 77.6 + 0.468X1i + 0.295X2i + 0.35X3i. Based on this model, imagination, cognition, and personalityis significant influence to the emotional intelligence.
