Journal of Islamic Civilization (JIC) dikelola oleh Pusat Pengembangan Masyarakat dan Peradaban Islam (PPMPI-UNUSA), dan diterbitkan oleh Unusa Press dengan nomor ISSN : 2567-1021 dan e-ISSN : 2567-1013. Fokus JIC adalah terkait dengan studi tentang masyarakat Islam yang terdiri dari studi Budaya dan peradaban Islam, Tasawuf dan Teologi, Politik, Ekonomi Islam, Yurisprudensi, Pendidikan Islam, dan multidisiplin ilmu lain yang terkait dengan studi masyarakat Islam. JIC mengundang peneliti, akademisi, dan praktisi untuk menulis artikel dan mengirimkannya ke dewan redaksi JIC yang akan terbit pada bulan April dan Oktober.

<![CDATA[The massive movement of the migrants to the young generation today is a new phenomenon in the Islamic movement in Indonesia. By carrying out the vision to invite the younger generation to draw closer to God Almighty, this movement is active in carrying out da'wah by using modern approaches that utilize social media as a medium of awareness. Abandoning traditionalist methods is a choice in changing the mindset of religious rituals only for middle-aged people. But Amid the popularity of Hijrah in Muslim youth with its Islamism, the behavior of 'Hijrah' itself seems to have lost its original meaning. Hijrah is only seen as a symbolic transition. Whereas Hijrah basically is not only strengthening in religious values, Hijrah has a mission of reform in every aspect of social, economic and political life.]]>

<![CDATA[The environment becomes an important part of human life, without which humans would not be able to survive in the world. However, with the greedy nature and economic libido makes people forget and neglect the risks that will be experienced. This happens because human awareness of their responsibilities as kholifah in charge of balancing the condition of the earth has vanished. This ecological awareness comes from the beliefs of every individual. So that the function of religion is expected to be a role of view in human life in order to preserve the environment as a form of ijtihad for the earth. The more so it can integrate the teachings of monotheism, and Sufism should be compounded with the teachings of fiqh so that the concept of an holistic-integral environment appears. In this case a religious leader has a very important role as an agent of change, as well as being able to provide confidence, motivation and solutions in restoring the ecological crisis that has plagued Indonesia and even the world. Although not all kiai have the same role, at least they have a breath of fresh air in an environmental problem with a religious perspective.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to describe the production process of journal 9 program on TV9 in the perspective of Islamic media. The production of journal 9 programs on TV9 in the perspective of Islamic media carries the principle of "Journalism Maslahat" based on Islamic journalistic ethics code including honesty, re-checking the news, the news delivered is effective and efficient news, becoming a disciplined and responsible journalist according with the religion of Islam. The management of the journal 9 production program on TV9 Nusantara is carried out through five elements namely production materials, production facilities, production costs, production implementing organizations, and stages of production implementation. Production Stage in the TV 9 Nusantara 9 Journal program which consists of the pre-production stage, the production stage (implementation), and the post-production stage (completion / editing and screening). The problems faced by TV9 in the production program are that broadcast production equipment is still not standard, production costs are still high, viewers' tastes in local programs are still not strong compared to National TV]]>

<![CDATA[Da'wah is an influencing process, so its effectiveness needs to be supported by the presence of the media. However, the existence of the media in turn is like a double-edged knife. On the one hand it provides greater convenience and affordability, but the media also has the consequence of the potential to make religion an economic commodity. This last impact will be revealed in this article. By conducting field studies through qualitative methods, it was successful to find important conclusions, namely: 1) The da'wah process carried out by JTV was designed using several supporting instruments. <![CDATA[This paper reviews the meaning of the phrase sabilillah in the view of Shaykh al-Azhar, Al-Imam Al-Akbar, Shaykh Mahmud Syaltut. Discussing this phrase, Syaltut uses the maudhu'i interpretation method which is implemented in many of his works. By using the library research method, data related to Syaltut thought is collected and analyzed. From these data, the concept of sabilillah in view of Syaltut includes universal values of life established by Islamic law: goodness, justice, cooperation and compassion; and sabilillah is how to realize the objectives of Islamic law itself. With this understanding, Islamic law in the hands of Syaltut appears dynamic in accordance with the context of his era.]]>

<![CDATA[Pancasila as the basic ideology of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia is the final consensus. But behind this, groups emerged that sought to clash between Pancasila and Islamic teachings. There are even groups that explicitly state that Pancasila is the taghout, contrary to Islamic teachings. Of course this is a conclusion that is too hasty. Therefore, the author tries to explain how the correlation between Pancasila with the source of Islamic teachings (al-Qur'an) through the maqasid approach to sharia. Through this approach, the author concludes that all precepts contained in Pancasila actually substantially nothing contradictory to the verses of the Qur'an. <![CDATA[How Muslim youth encountering local festival is fascinating discourse in the age where the spirit of Islamic revivalism is going on. By this, Dieng Culture Festival is known as one of the popular annual ritual which performs the traditional cultural attraction in Central Java, especially in Banjarnegara and Wonosobo which is heavily rooted on Javanese Hindu tradition. The different perspective of the awareness in considering the Importance of the ritual comes from the diverse community and society to acknowledge this kind of the ritual. So, this paper tries to examine the participation of the youth in enduring the annual festival as one of the events which not only give the advantage for the sustainability of the ritual itself, but also influence to the society around the place economically, socially and spiritually. Through youth participation, this research would try to reveal how youth is significant resource to build multi-cultural community. Using the theory of the “spectacle attraction”, the writer tries to trace how useful the ritual effecting Dieng as one of the wellknown place of the tourism and spiritually affecting to the way of religious life to see the ritual through the direct observation to the place, interview the practitioner of the ritual and the documentation review as the supporting data of the research. Here, I argue that encountering Islam and local tradition has shaped Muslim youth identity in understanding local community and multi-cultural society.]]>

<![CDATA[Indonesia is the fifth largest tobacco producer in the world. Average cigarette consumption in adolescents over 15 years is 12 cigarettes per day. The increase in the number of smokers is influenced by internal factors and external factors. Internal factors include perception and attitude towards smoking behavior. These perceptions and attitudes determine whether someone agrees and then decides to follow the act or not. Hopefully, the more someone disagrees with smoking behavior, the lower the smoking behavior rate in adolescents. How many people at the boarding school initially refused cigarettes, but because of fear of exclusion, then turned into permissive to cigarettes. This study aims to analyze the perceptions and attitudes of Islamic boarding school alumni to smoking behavior of boarding school residents. The results of this study are expected to be self-evaluation materials as well as a starting point for re-planning counseling programs for the anti-smoking movement in Islamic boarding schools.]]>

<![CDATA[Pesantren as a community education institution rooted in local wisdom. Its existance in the midst of society becomes a nomenclature that continues to be discussed and trusted by the community in creating plenary human being. Conceptually, pesantren are a derivative of the educational model in the archipelago that has long existed and is a reference for the community. The concept of the pesantren is witten in an ancient manuscript, Tantu panggelaran which calls it a mandala. To trace it, the authors analyse using Michel Foucault’s genealogical theory. This research uses literature study and observation methods. The results of this study are concept of pesantren as the evolution of educational models in the archipelago. The rules, value and culture built in the pesantren produce people who are not only religious experts, but also care for and love their homeland.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze Saudi Arabia’s economic policies in anticipation of the Covid-19 effect’s on its national economy. These policies cover international economic, fiscal, and monetary policy. This study used the qualitative method through scientific observation by collecting non-numerical data, white focusing on making meaning. The results of this research show that there is an attempt by the Saudi Arabian Kingdom in its international economic policy to channel donations to WHO. On the other hand, monetary policy is needed to stabilize the economy by supporting solid fiscal policy when the global word is flooded with liquidity such as nominal interest rates which is closed to or below zero. So, the impact on lower interest rates can trier cash outflows from the stock market. In this case, the Kindom of Saudi Arabia is very fast and responsive in carrying out a combination of these policies.]]>
