Abstract

Riparian vegetation plays an important role in maintaining the productivity of river fisheries. In addition, riparian vegetation also plays a role in controlling the entry of nutrients and toxic materials that enter the waters and store ground water. This research was conducted to find out how the level of vegetation diversity Riparian River Tabir. The method used in the analysis of vegetation is the method of line in print. The analysis of vegetation is done at the tree level. Sample plots made on the left and right side of the river are 6 transects and each transect is 3 plots / plot so that the total plot is 18 plot / plot. Data analysis includes calculation of Important Value (NP) and Type Diversity (H ') from Shannon-Wiener. The results obtained for tree level are 12 species from 9 families. The highest INP is Ficus racemosa type with INP 48.3 and H '0.29. For pole level trees, 20 species of plants are found in 14 families. The highest INP and H values were Hevea brasiliensis with INP 27 and H '0.22. For the tree level category, 14 tree species were found in 9 families. The highest INP and H values were found in Clinemia hirta INP 29.80 H '0.28. The diversity of riparian vegetation of the Tabir River is moderate for tree, pole and stake.

Abstract

Rivers have an important role in human life. They are the living place for the amount of biodiversity, but now the river has been polluted due to human activities. The object of this research is to know Murak river quality based on plankton diversity. Other than that, to determine the factors that influence water pollution and to know the level of water pollution based on biological, physical and chemical indicators. Sampling is done in Murak river of Merangin. The identification of plankton and water analysis is done at the Biology Education Laboratory. From the results of the study, there were 24 genus of plankton found, of the 24 genera there are 7 genera that enter in the category of pollution indicator that is Nitzschia sp, Chlamydomonas, Spirogyra , Chlorococcum, Euglena, Oscillatoria, Pyrobotris dan Anabaena.. And based on the index of diversity (H ') is in the value of 1-3 so it is concluded that the waters of the Murak river of Merangin have been polluted.

Abstract

IPA formed and developed with a process scientific, must also be developed in school tuition as experiences meaningful that can be used to make the development of self next biology as one of the field of ipa provide a variety of learning experience to understanding the concept of and the process of science.Skill the process of science used that they explore and understand the about. Research aims to understand the increase in skill the process of science and study results students through the application of learning guided inquiry. Methods used is class room research by taking advantage 4 ( four ) a stage in class room research including planning, the implementation of the act of, observation, and reflection.The implementation of the an act done as much as 2 ( two ) cycle, every cycle consisting of 2 ( two meeting learning 1 ( one meeting evaluation. The research results show that has been an increase in skill the process of science out of school in droves of biology as many as 17,57 % the same condition was the results of bejar students show some improvement as many as 28,67 %. Can be concluded that using learning guided inquiry model can improved the skills of the process of science and study results students.

Abstract

The background of this research is that Bryophytes are known as pioneer plants and play an important role in biodiversity. Air Terjun Sigerincing was a native forest that has changed its function to become a tourist attraction, resulting in the presence of Bryophytes that potentially damaged and disturbed by their habitat and also the lack of information regarding the identification of Bryophytes, especially in the Air Terjun Sigerincing area. The purpose of this study was to determine the type of Bryophytes in the Air Terjun Sigerincing area. This research was conducted on May 2018 with the roaming method is exploring and observing every corner of the research location. Identification of Bryophytes in the Laboratory of Biology STKIP YPM Bangko was carried on May 7, 2018. Each type of Bryophytes that was sampled and then made into a herbarium collection by inserting it into an envelope for identification purposes. During the observation and data collection the type of Bryophytes found in the field data was noted. As for what needs to be noted include habitat, color, and substrate of the Bryophyte. The results of this study obtained 19 samples from Air Terjun Sigerincing and after identification, there were 12 Bryophytes species in the Air Terjun Sigerincing area of the 3 different classes and most commonly found were Bryopsida classes of 9 species, Anthocerotopsida 2 species and Tetraphidopsida 1 species.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of data on the types of lichen in the Teluk Wang Sakti Area and the research on the types of lichen in Merangin is very lacking. Lichen can be found in the Teluk Wang Sakti Area because it has natural conditions that support lichen growth and development. The purpose of this research was to find out and describe the types of lichen in Teluk Wang Sakti. This type of research used a qualitative descriptive research. The research method used was the method of reconassance (roaming). The location of the research was conducted in Teluk Wang Sakti and on the edge of Jl. Lintas Bangko-Kerinci. Lichen found in Teluk Wang Sakti is 60 species including 11 genera and 10 families : Parmotrema and Parmelia (Family Parmeliaceae),Graphis (Family Graphidaceae), Dichosporidium (Family Rosellaceae), Arthonia (Family Arthoniaceae), Dirinaria (Family Dirinariaceae), Cryptothecia (Family Cryptotheciaceae), Lecanora (Family Lecanoraceae), Megalospora (Family Megalosporaceae), Lepraria (Family Leprariaceae) and Caloplaca (Family Caloplacaceae). Teluk Wang Sakti Area has an average temperature of 27.9oC and 82.3% humidity. While on the edge of Jl. Bangko-Kerinci crossing around the factory has an average temperature of 42.2oC and humidity of 36%. The Teluk Wang Sakti Area is indicated to have better air quality compared to the edge of Jl. Bangko-Kerinci crossing around the factory, due to the lack of types of lichen found and the presence of Parmotrema sp. type of lichen used as a bioindicator of air pollution.

Abstract

The lack of utilization of waxy banana peel waste in Merangin District is a source of environmental pollution. Wax banana peel waste has the potential as a liquid organic fertilizer. This study aims to determine the effect of giving liquid organic fertilizer from wax banana peel waste on the growth of red spinach plants and to determine the dose of liquid organic fertilizer from waxy banana peel waste which gives the best results for the growth of red spinach plants. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) of one factor, consisting of 6 treatments namely P0 (0 ml / control), P1 (10 ml), P2 (20 ml), P3 (30 ml), P4 (40 ml) and P5 (50 ml) with 4 repetitions. The parameters of this study were plant height, number of leaves, leaf surface area and root length. Data were analyzed using variance analysis and continued with Duncan test 5%. The results showed that liquid organic fertilizer of wax banana peel waste had a significant effect on the number of leaves, but did not give effect to plant height, leaf surface area and root length of red spinach. Liquid organic fertilizer of wax banana peel waste 20 ml dose gives the best results on the number of red spinach plant leaves.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the learning outcomes of students in MTS Negeri Pamenang Integrated Science learning, most of them are still under the classical KKM set by the school, this shows that the Integrated Science learning process has not run optimally. This study aimed to improve Integrated Science learning outcomes for grade VII MTS N Pamenang students with the application of SPICS (Student Centered, Problem Based, Interest and Confident and Satisfaction) learning models, in class VII MTS N Pamenang in the 2018/2019 school year. Thie type of research was classroom action research, where the subjects in this study were students of class VII MTS N Pamenang consisted of to 28 people, while the object in this study was SPICS Learning Model (Student Centered, Problem Based , Interest, Confident and Satisfaction). The procedure in this study consisted of the stages of planning, implementing actions, observation and evaluation and reflection. Data collection form of student and teacher activity observation sheets and evaluation test used. Students have received grades according to the KKM, meaning that action research in the second cycle has achieved a minimum target of 75% achievement of students achieving KKM. Based on the research results obtained in the first cycle the average test score of 73.03 cycle with a percentage of completeness 64% or 19 students who graduated according to the defined KKM that is 75 in the second cycle found that student learning outcomes increased to 77.57. Based on the data analysis, the research can be concluded that by using SPICS (Student Centered, Problem Based, Interest, Confident and Satisfaction) learning models, it can improve the learning outcomes of class VII MTS N Pamenang in the 2018/2019 school year.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the absence of teaching materials that can be used to assist in teaching and learning activities, especially about biodiversity material. In the teaching and learning process the teacher only uses worksheets that are less interesting and not pictorial so that they cannot help students to study independently. This study aims to produce a biodiversity module based on a scientific approach for students of class X SMA/MA equivalent. This type of research is a method of research and development using a 4-D model namely Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. The subjects of this study were 4 validators and validators for practicality tests, namely 2 teachers and 20 students of class X MAN 2 Merangin. Data from this study are the results of the validity questionnaire and module practicality questionnaire, then this data is analyzed by descriptive analysis. Based on this research produced a product in the form of a Biodiversity Module Based on a valid and practical Scientific Approach. The module is declared to be very valid by the validator both in terms of content, linguistic, presentation and graphic aspects with a validity value of 92%. The modules produced are also practical by teachers and students both in terms of ease of use, learning time and attractiveness with an average value of 3.48 for teachers and for students 3.21. So that it can be concluded that the Scientific Biodiversity Based Module produced is declared valid and practical.

Abstract

This research is motivated by result of integrated science learning student of class VII still have not reached the KKM that is 75. One of the learning models that can improve student learning outcomes is to use the TPS type cooperative learning model. This study aims to find out and describe the Think Pair Share (TPS) type of cooperative learning better than conventional models on integrated science learning outcomes for grade VIIIstudent of SMP Negeri 22 Merangin in 2018/2019 academic year. This type of research is experimental research, the research design is post test only control design. The population in this study were all eight grade student of SMP 22 Merangin in the 2018/2019 school year consisting of 2 classes. The sampling technique in this study is total sampling, and to determine the experimental class and control class using simple random sampling. Data collection technigues are test techniques, trought essay tests totaling 8 items. Data analysis techniques used to test hypotheses are t-test. The result of the study, in the experimental class obtained an average value of 78,6, while in the control class obtained an average value of 75,05, then the data was analyzed using the t-test. Hypothesis test results are obtained, t-count=1,803 an t-table=1,689. Because t-count > t-table then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that the integrated science learning outcomes using cooperative learning model type Think Pair Share (TPS) is better than using conventional learning model class VIII SMP Negeri 22 Merangin in the 2018/2019 school year.

Abstract

The aims of this research was to study the conservation of aquatic resources based on local wisdom through the management of the Lubuk Larangan at Guguk Village, Merangin District, Jambi Province. The method that used in this study is a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with informants selected by purposive sampling of key informants there are Village Heads, Customary Figures, Religious Leaders, Community Leaders, and Lubuk Larangan Managers. The results showed that Guguk Village has a Lubuk Larangan that located in the Batang Merangin river named Lubuk Larangan Ujung Tanjung. The purpose of the Lubuk Larangan is as a means of conserving aquatic resources and for increasing village income. There are rules and sanctions for the community regarding the management of Lubuk larangan. Economically, the existence of lubuk guguk village was not satisfactory compared to other areas which are likely caused by illegal gold mining activities in the Batang Merangin River and other rivers which disrupt river ecosystems.
