Abstract

The lack of utilization of waxy banana peel waste in Merangin District is a sourceof environmental pollution. Wax banana peel waste has the potential as a liquidorganic fertilizer. This study aims to determine the effect of giving liquid organicfertilizer from wax banana peel waste on the growth of red spinach plants and todetermine the dose of liquid organic fertilizer from waxy banana peel waste whichgives the best results for the growth of red spinach plants. The study used aCompletely Randomized Design (CRD) of one factor, consisting of 6 treatmentsnamely P0 (0 ml / control), P1 (10 ml), P2 (20 ml), P3 (30 ml), P4 (40 ml) and P5(50 ml) with 4 repetitions. The parameters of this study were plant height, numberof leaves, leaf surface area and root length. Data were analyzed using varianceanalysis and continued with Duncan test 5%. The results showed that liquid organicfertilizer of wax banana peel waste had a significant effect on the number of leaves,but did not give effect to plant height, leaf surface area and root length of redspinach. Liquid organic fertilizer of wax banana peel waste 20 ml dose gives thebest results on the number of red spinach plant leaves.

Abstract

Sungai memiliki peran penting dalam kehidupan manusia. Sungai adalah tempat hidup untuk jumlah keanekaragaman hayati, tetapi saat ini sungai sudah mulai tercemar akibat aktivitas manusia. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas sungai Murak berdasarkan keanekaragaman plankton. Selain itu, untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pencemaran perairan dan mengetahui tingkat pencemaran perairan dengan didasarkan pada indikator biologis, fisika, dan kimia. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di sungai Murak kabupaten Merangin. Identifikasi plankton dan analisis air dilakukan di Laboratorium Pendidikan Biologi. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan ada 24 genus plankton yang ditemukan, dari 24 genus tersebut terdapat 7 genus yang masuk de dalam kategori indikator pencemaran yaitu Nitzschia sp, Chlamydomonas, Spirogyra , Chlorococcum, Euglena, Oscillatoria, Pyrobotris dan Anabaena.. Dan berdasarkan indeks keanekaragaman (H’) berada pada nilai 1-3 sehingga ditarik kesimpulan bahwa perairan sungai Murak kabupaten Merangin telah tercemar.

Abstract

Food is important both for growth and maintaining life vegetables have nutritional advantages because they are consumed in a raw state so that the nutrients contained in them do not experience denaturation or change. But the benefits of vegetables will not be useful if the vegetables contain E. coli bacteria that enter the digestive tract. The study is a laboratory descriptive experimental research. The study was conducted at a street , treders pecel lele found on Bangko City's Sumatra Cross Road. The number of samples in this study were 13 street treders selling pecel lele. Sample examination was carried out in the STKIP YPM Bangko Biology Education Laboratory. Data were analyzed by univariate. From the results of the study found two positive E. coli cabbage and positive Coliform in all samples of cabbage / cabbage.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of data on the types of lichen in the TelukWang Sakti Area and the research on the types of lichen in Merangin is verylacking. Lichen can be found in the Teluk Wang Sakti Area because it has naturalconditions that support lichen growth and development. The purpose of thisresearch was to find out and describe the types of lichen in Teluk Wang Sakti. Thistype of research used a qualitative descriptive research. The research method usedwas the method of reconassance (roaming). The location of the research wasconducted in Teluk Wang Sakti and on the edge of Jl. Lintas Bangko-Kerinci.Lichen found in Teluk Wang Sakti is 60 species including 11 genera and 10families : Parmotrema and Parmelia (Family Parmeliaceae),Graphis (FamilyGraphidaceae), Dichosporidium (Family Rosellaceae), Arthonia (FamilyArthoniaceae), Dirinaria (Family Dirinariaceae), Cryptothecia (FamilyCryptotheciaceae), Lecanora (Family Lecanoraceae), Megalospora (FamilyMegalosporaceae), Lepraria (Family Leprariaceae) and Caloplaca (FamilyCaloplacaceae). Teluk Wang Sakti Area has an average temperature of 27.9oC and82.3% humidity. While on the edge of Jl. Bangko-Kerinci crossing around thefactory has an average temperature of 42.2oC and humidity of 36%. The TelukWang Sakti Area is indicated to have better air quality compared to the edge of Jl.Bangko-Kerinci crossing around the factory, due to the lack of types of lichen foundand the presence of Parmotrema sp. type of lichen used as a bioindicator of airpollution.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of research on the siamang in hutan Adat Guguk of Merangin Regency, Jambi Province. The purpose of study was to determine and describe the siamang population based on the size of the group, the composition of age and sexual rasio in the forest of Adat Guguk Merangin Regency, Jambi Province. The method used is a concentreated area method with three observation stations and used the Rappid Assesment to record food and rest vegetation of siamang. Data was analyzed descriptively. The result showed that the siamang group found in the study area were 2 groups (5 individuals ) and 1 solitary male. The distribution of age classes in the individual adult phase is 5 individuals the sapling phase was 1 individual and the baby phase werw not found in the siamang group in the hutan Adat Guguk. The seksual ratio value of the siamang group in the adult phase is 1:1, for the solitary male the sexual ratio is 1:0 and ato the juvenile  phase could not identyfied the sex of simang because the sexual chaarteristic of had not developed perfectly.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi rendahnya hasil belajar siswa, hal ini disebabkan penggunaan model pembelajaran yang kurang tepat dan kurang bervariasi yaitu model konvensional .Oleh karena itu, peneliti menawarkan pembelajaran dengan model kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan model kooperatif tipe STAD untuk mengatasi permasalahan diatas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Perbedaan hasil belajar biologi yang diajarkan dengan model kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan model koooperatif tipe Stad materi ekosistem siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri Bangko tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat di lihat bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar IPA terpadu. nilai rata-rata kelas sampel menggunakan model Jigsaw adalah 86, sedangkan kelas yang menggunakan miodel kooperatif tipe STAD (student teams achievement division)  diperoleh nilai rata-rata 75,52. Dengan teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis adalah uji-t, karena data berdistribusi normal dan varian homogen. Hasil hipotesis yang diperoleh t_hitung = 2,215 dan t_(tabel )1.800, karena t_hitung > t_(tabel )maka Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran menggunakan model kooperatif tipe Jigsaw lebih baik dari pada pembelajaran dengan model kooperatif tipe Stad (student teams achievement division)  siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri Bangko tahun pelajaran 2015/2016.

Abstract

Rivers have an important role in human life. They are the living place for the amount of biodiversity, but now the river has been polluted due to human activities. The object of this research is to know Murak river quality based on plankton diversity. Other than that, to determine the factors that influence water pollution and to know the level of water pollution based on biological, physical and chemical indicators. Sampling is done in Murak river of Merangin. The identification of plankton and water analysis is done at the Biology Education Laboratory. From the results of the study, there were 24 genus of plankton found, of the 24 genera there are 7 genera that enter in the category of pollution indicator that is Nitzschia sp, Chlamydomonas, Spirogyra , Chlorococcum, Euglena, Oscillatoria, Pyrobotris dan Anabaena.. And based on the index of diversity (H ') is in the value of 1-3 so it is concluded that the waters of the Murak river of Merangin have been polluted.

Abstract

The background of this research is that Bryophytes are known as pioneer plants and play an important role in biodiversity. Air Terjun Sigerincing was a native forest that has changed its function to become a tourist attraction, resulting in the presence of Bryophytes that potentially damaged and disturbed by their habitat and also the lack of information regarding the identification of Bryophytes, especially in the Air Terjun Sigerincing area. The purpose of this study was to determine the type of Bryophytes in the Air Terjun Sigerincing area. This research was conducted on May 2018 with the roaming method is exploring and observing every corner of the research location. Identification of Bryophytes in the Laboratory of Biology STKIP YPM Bangko was carried on May 7, 2018. Each type of Bryophytes that was sampled and then made into a herbarium collection by inserting it into an envelope for identification purposes. During the observation and data collection the type of Bryophytes found in the field data was noted. As for what needs to be noted include habitat, color, and substrate of the Bryophyte. The results of this study obtained 19 samples from Air Terjun Sigerincing and after identification, there were 12 Bryophytes species in the Air Terjun Sigerincing area of the 3 different classes and most commonly found were Bryopsida classes of 9 species, Anthocerotopsida 2 species and Tetraphidopsida 1 species.
