Abstract

This research aims to assess and analyze the comparison of the ability classes of groups of women farmers who are standing with encouragement and groups of women farmers who are standing independently in Parupuk Tabing Village, Koto Tangah District, Padang City. The data were analyzed descriptively, guided by the guidebook for assessing farmer groups' ability classes issued by the Agricultural Extension and Human Resources Development Agency Number: 168/Per/SM.170/J/11/11 Center for Agricultural Extension in 2023. The research results showed that The group of women farmers who stood up with encouragement from the government got a score of 331, while the group of women farmers who stood up independently got a score of 229. From this score, the assessment of the ability class of the farmer group, the group of women farmers who stood up with support from the government scored higher than the group of women farmers independently. This group turned out to be in the advanced or quite good category. However, there are still groups that do not have aspects of group ability, such as the ability to plan, these two groups both do not have the ability to plan.

Abstract

Tuban Regency has succeeded in reducing stunting rates in the last seven years, but the percentage of stunting in Tuban Regency still exceeds the national rate and East Java Province. This is due to the lack of collaboration between various sectors in dealing with stunting problems in Tuban Regency. This study emphasizes the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration in handling stunting problems in Tuban Regency, which is analyzed using a collaborative governance perspective. This research uses qualitative data from previous research and credible and relevant institutional administrative data related to stunting in Tuban Regency. The phenomenon studied is described as a description that shows the need for collaboration between stakeholders and focuses on mapping collaborative governance to reduce the prevalence of stunting in Tuban Regency. Collaborative governance in accelerating efforts to tackle stunting in Tuban Regency still needs to be improved, which is marked by the uneven formation of the Team for the Acceleration of Stunting Handling (TPPS). Only 17 out of 311 villages (5.5%) in Tuban Regency have established TPPS, so the stunting reduction rate in Tuban Regency is still far from the regional target of 17% and the national target of 14%. Villages with TPPS members must also fully understand their main duties and functions. Poverty and socio-cultural factors of the people of Tuban Regency also influence. Collaboration could be more optimal and community involvement needs to be active. The efforts to deal with stunting in Tuban Regency can be more effective and sustainable with better collaboration and adequate capacity building.

Abstract

This study explores the distribution and hierarchy of service centers in Sleman Regency using the Gutman Scalogram method, Marshall’s Centrality Index, and an analysis of Spatial Interaction Attractiveness. The research addresses the pressing issue of service facility inequality, highlighting the concentration of facilities in certain areas and the limited availability in others. The study identifies Kalasan and Mlati as primary service centers (Order 1) with the most comprehensive facilities, while other districts, such as Minggir and Moyudan, struggle with minimal facilities, reflecting significant disparities. Marshall’s Centrality Index positions Depok as the primary service center, with the highest centrality score of 413.32, indicating superior accessibility and service provision. Conversely, peripheral districts exhibit low centrality, underscoring inadequate infrastructure and access. Spatial interaction analysis reveals that districts with strong connectivity, like Mlati and Ngaglik, exhibit high interaction values, while hinterland areas remain underdeveloped due to poor connectivity and limited population. The findings emphasize the need for equitable service distribution through targeted infrastructure development, enhanced connectivity, and the establishment of secondary service centers to reduce regional disparities. This research contributes to evidence-based spatial planning and offers strategies for inclusive and sustainable regional development.

Abstract

By 2022, North Sulawesi will have the highest youth unemployment rate (15—24 years old) in Eastern Indonesia region (KTI). This is a serious problem given that young people are assets and resources for national development, their potential must be optimally utilized. This study aims to provide an overview of the youth unemployment status, the influence of individual and regional factor, and their trends on the youth unemployment status in North Sulawesi in 2022. The data used comes from the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) August 2022, North Sulawesi in Figures 2022 publication Employment Situation of North Sulawesi in 2022, and Gross Regional Domestic Product of North Sulawesi in 2022 publication. It is analyzed using the multilevel logistic regression method with random intercept. The descriptive analysis results indicate that youth unemployment is more prevalent among the youth labor force with unmarried status, at least a high school education, aged 15—19, and female. Furthermore, the inferential analysis demonstrates that marital status, education, age, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and realization of local government expenditure affect youth unemployment status significantly.

Abstract

The elderly population continues to grow, while birth rates tend to decline relatively in many countries. Energy consumption levels have increased along with the rising global population. This increase in energy consumption has led to higher CO2 emissions worldwide. Several studies have shown that the rising percentage of elderly individuals and the decline in the Total Fertility Rate (TFR) affect CO2 emissions. The objectives of this study is to examine the impact of the elderly population percentage and TFR on CO2 emissions and to determine whether national income per capita serves as a moderating variable in this relationship. The study employs the Moderation Regression Analysis (MRA) method, using data from the World Bank (2019) covering 225 countries. The findings indicate that, on a global scale, the percentage of elderly individuals and TFR significantly influence CO2 emissions. A 1% increase in the elderly population results in a 0.137 increase in CO2 emissions, while a 1% increase in TFR leads to a 0.702 increase in CO2 emissions. Furthermore, the effect of the elderly population percentage and TFR on CO2 emissions is moderated by national income per capita, with significance values of b2 (elderly) = 0.000; b3 (elderly) = 0.000 and b2 (TFR) = 0.000; b3 (TFR) = 0.004 (Quasi Predictor). Keywords : population aging, fertility, national income per capita, CO2 emission

Abstract

Evaluation of poverty alleviation and inequality issues to achieve sustainable prosperity requires in-depth analysis at a regional level. The establishment of Provincial Strategic Areas (KSP) in Central Java is expected to be a solution to accelerate the achievement of sustainable prosperity. This study aims to (1) analyze the determinants of poverty levels in each KSP region in the 2014-2023 period, in the short and long term; and (2) analyze the convergence of poverty levels and the speed of adjustment of disparities between regions in each KSP region. The results of dynamic panel regression modeling using the System Generalized Method of Moment (System-GMM) method can provide an in-depth analysis of targeted research-based policy recommendations in each Provincial Strategic Area (KSP) by offering recommendations for driving and inhibiting factors for poverty alleviation, to the time required to achieve convergence in reducing disparities between regions.

Abstract

This article examines the absence of representation of women migrant workers in Indonesian legislative institutions. This absence is ironic, given their significant contribution to the national economy. The study uncovers various reasons for the lack of representation of women migrant workers in legislative institutions, a reality analyzed as “empty political seats.” Using a qualitative approach, the study relies on secondary data from academic journals, books, research reports, mass media articles, and civil society organization publications. The analysis focuses on how the social construction, legal framework, and socio-economic conditions of women migrant workers contribute to inequality in political representation. The findings indicate that social stigma, limited access to political education and information, and economic vulnerability limit women migrant workers' political participation. The study also highlights how the political system, migration, and patriarchal culture reinforce the marginalization of women migrant workers in decision-making. The study recommends comprehensive systemic reform, including deconstructing social stigma, increasing access to political and economic education, and mainstreaming gender in the Indonesian political system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges and opportunities in the implementation of e-governance in the Samarinda City Government, focusing on the role of technology and infrastructure in supporting the digital transformation of public services. Digital transformation in the government sector is expected to enhance efficiency, transparency, and the quality of services to the public. However, the implementation of e-government systems often faces various obstacles affect their success. This research methodology employs a literature review approach to analyze the existing challenges, as well as the opportunities that can be leveraged in the e-government implementation process. The literature review references various previous studies related to technology infrastructure, digital literacy, and experiences with e-government implementation in other cities across Indonesia. The findings of the study indicate that the main challenges faced by the Samarinda City Government include limitations in digital infrastructure, such as uneven internet access, inadequate hardware, and low digital literacy among government officials and the public. Additionally, resistance to change from government employees also serves as an inhibiting factor. The study also identifies significant opportunities in e-government implementation, such as enhanced transparency in budget management, improved public participation, and the simplification of administrative processes that could accelerate public services. The conclusion of this study is to expedite digital transformation in the Samarinda City Government, there is a need for increased infrastructure readiness, digital literacy training for government employees, and a more inclusive approach to involving the public in technology use. By capitalizing on these opportunities, the Samarinda City Government can overcome existing challenges and create a more transparent, efficient, and responsive government system that meets the needs of the public.

Abstract

Abstract

This study analyzes child multidimensional poverty in West Sumatra Province in 2024 using the Multiple Overlapping Deprivation Analysis (MODA) approach based on March Susenas data. Child poverty is a critical issue due to its long-term implications for future generations and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially target 1.2. The study aims to measure the prevalence of child deprivation across key rights-based indicators and to identify overlapping patterns across deprivation dimensions. The analysis includes prevalence assessment, overlap mapping, and multidimensional poverty measurement using a cut-off of k = 3. The results indicate that 45.25 persen of children aged 0–17 in West Sumatra are multidimensionally poor, with an average deprivation intensity of 50.78 persen, yielding a Multidimensional Child Poverty Index (Mo) of 22.98 persen. Children aged 0–4 mostly face overlapping deprivations in health, housing, and nutrition, while children aged 5–17 are more likely to experience deprivations in housing, nutrition, and sanitation. These findings emphasize the need for age- and region-sensitive policy interventions that are cross-sectoral and focused on fulfilling children's rights comprehensively.
