Abstract

Migration is one of the solutions for survival. Furthermore, migration also provides an opportunity to improve the economy and family welfare. In addition to positive impacts, migration also has negative impacts. These positive and negative impacts make migrant welfare as a result of migration is interesting to study. This study aims to analyze how is the welfare of migrants when viewed through the variable of housing and asset ownership. This study uses secondary data sourced from 2015 Inter-Census Population Survey data (SUPAS 2015). The description of migrant welfare is seen through the housing quality and asset ownership. The results showed that through housing and asset ownership variables, migrants tend to have a good welfare even if compared to non-migrants. This shows the important role of the government in accommodating both the distribution of migration flows and the equitable distribution of resources in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of processing LDPE and PP plastic waste by means of pyrolysis, variations in temperatur of the pyrolysis reactor 300oC, 350oC, 400oC. The results of this study are expected to provide answers regarding the results of the pyrolysis of LDPE and PP waste pastes. The pyrolysis reactor is made of stenlis in the form of a tube with a diameter of 40 cm and a total height of 60 cm. Multilevel cooling, gas cooling using water passed in the pipe. The flow of water as a coolant with pyrolysis gas is in the opposite direction, the hope is that more oil is produced because the wasted gas is reduced. Heat energy comes from a burner made from LPG. The results of processing PP and LDPE plastic waste produce oil, solids (charcoal) and gas produced at each temperatur variation. A temperatur of 300oC produces less oil than a temperatur of 400oC in each type of PP and LDPE plastic. The higher the temperatur of the pyrolysis reactor, the more oil and cloudy it gets. All pyrolysis oil has a strong odor and when burned will produce soot.

Abstract

This research examines the occurrence of income convergence in the Surakarta Ex-Residency. Data included per capita income, labor productivity, and the number of motor vehicles published by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) from 2001-2018. The research model was formed by adding several control variables to form a regression equation where the current year's per capita income was dependent. In contrast, the preceding year's per capita income, labor productivity, and the number of motor vehicles were independent variables. Subsequently, the regression equation was estimated by the Dynamic Ordinary Least Square (DOLS) and Fully Modified Ordinary Least Square (FMOLS) methods. The results showed a convergence of per capita income among regions. The income in more impoverished regions grew faster compared to wealthier ones. For this reason, the gap in income per capita between regions lessened significantly. Increased labor productivity and the number of motor vehicles had a positive effect on per capita income, supporting income convergence. Therefore, the transportation network needs to be improved by the government to support the mobility of workers and goods, leading to income convergence.

Abstract

Indonesian people are very fond of consuming satay, grilled/ fried chicken/ duck/ fish because these are very delicious but consumers still do not understand that there are carcinogenic consequences of heterocyclic aromatic mines (HAA) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) which are harmful to health. This paper aims to explore HAA, PAH and various ways that have succeeded in minimizing these levels so that consumers can still enjoy these foods safely and comfortably.  Thermal meat processing is an important process to ensure microbiological safety, eliminate antinutrical factors, improving digestibility and bioavailability of nutrients and develop the profile of the color, aroma and flavor attributes that we want. However, this process also turns out to bring about carcinogens (cancer triggers), HAA and PAH that are potentially harmful to our health in the long run. The results of this literature review provide practical information that can be applied by producers or housewives to minimize HAAs levels in finished products, which is choosing the right sugar for marination; addition of synthetic antioxidants; addition of natural antioxidants; addition of phytochemical and herbal extracts; and pretreatment using a microwave.

Abstract

Indonesia’s elderly worker increase each year and now is 50th in the world. Increase in the number of elderly people in Indonesia is an indicator of success of development in health sector. Marked by an increase in life expectancy. On the other hand, this is a social and economic burden on the state. We use 65+ years old as border age of elderly in this research. The objectives are to describe the social & demographic characteristic of the elderly worker and to find the correlations among social & demographic factors with working status of elderly worker in Indonesia. The methods are descriptive analysis (frequency and crosstab table) and inferential analysis of correlation (Chi Square test). Majority of elderly worker in Indonesia is women, married, head of household, 65-74 years old, occupied in informal sector, average of working time 34,23 hour per week, had health illness, no social security and debt. Chi square test results show that working status is moderately correlated with ages, sex, marital status, status in the household, and working hour. Then, social security is weak and another factor (education, health illness, debt, and occupation sector) is very weak.

Abstract

The environment is an important part of sustainable development and is taken into account in all policies, programs, activities and decisions on funding and human welfare. Poverty is a multidimensional problem and is still the main focus of the government. Furthermore, poverty alleviation and environmental change are two important agendas in the sustainable development goals (SDGs). The study used panel data regression from 33 provinces in Indonesia except North Kalimantan Province (due to data limitations) and examined the relationship between poverty of the poor in urban and rural areas to the quality of the environment in 2013-2018. This study found that the urban poor and income inequality significantly reduce environmental quality. The poor who live in urban areas have more potential to damage the quality of the environment than the poor in rural areas. Likewise, a large inequality of income has a negative effect on the quality of the environment. The different perceptions of a good standard of living between the urban and rural poor may be the cause of the resulting differences in environmental quality.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Cognitive Ability of CPNS Latsar participants on Employee Performance in the Sragen Regency Government. The object of this research is the CPNS Alumni Latsar 2019 as long as they carry out their duties during a probationary period at the agency where they work. This type of research is a survey research conducted on 66 employees. Sources of research data are employees (alumni of Latsar CPNS), the Organizing Committee, and employee superiors. Data were collected using interview techniques, observation, document study, and questionnaires. Data processing was carried out quantitatively and data analysis using simple linear regression using SPSS 17. The results of data analysis were discussed based on expert opinion and the results of previous studies were used to conclude the research results. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the Cognitive Ability of CPNS Participants has a very weak effect on employee performance, the value of the influence of Cognitive Ability on Employee Performance is 0.071. While the magnitude of the influence (R2) of Cognitive Ability on Employee Performance is 0.005; it means that Cognitive Ability affects Employee Performance only by 5%, while 95% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. It is obtained that the number Constant (a) is 64.858 and the Number Y (b) is 1.279; so the regression equation is 64.858 + 1.279 X, meaning that if there is no cognitive ability value, the performance value is 64.858. With a regression coefficient of 1.279, it means that every addition of 1 cognitive ability value will add a performance value of 1.279. The implication of the results of this study is that efforts to sharpen learning in material that support the Strengthening of Technical Competence in the Field of Duty are needed, because this material is related to the job duties of employees.
