Abstract

The cause of the low activity of the students in learning Physics in Public Junior High School in Padang,due to the students feel that Physics is not an interesting subject and unrelated to the real world application. These factors have impacts towards the student’s learning activities in Physics, their achievement in Physics, and the student’s learning quality in Physics. One solution to overcome these problems is by applying the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL)–Lesson Study–Based Approach. This research aims at elaborating the CTL–Lesson Study–Based Approach to enhance the student’s learning activity in Physics, and the student’s achievement in Physics, either the students have low, medium or high intelligence level. This type of research is a combined quantitative and qualitative. This research took place in public junior high schools in Padang on first semester of academic year 2009/2010. The samples for this research were the students in class VII-4 at SMPN 17 Padang, students in class VII-5 at SMPN 7 Padang and students in class VII-B at SMPN 8 Padang. The data were collected through observation, interview, questionnaire and video recording by some observers during the learning process takes place as well as through examination given to the students. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative.       The result of data analysis indicates that the implementation of the CTL–Lesson Study–Based Approach can improve the student’s learning activity in Physics, and the student’s achievement toward Physics for the case of school with students with low and moderate intelligence level. While in the school where the student’s intelligence level is high, the improvements occur only on the student’s achievement in Physics. It can be concluded that the CTL–Lesson Study–Based Approach can improve the student’s learning activities in Physics, and also the student’s achievement in Physics. Abstract

This study aims to see the level of validity and practicality of the development e-modulses using the guided inquiry model. Research conducted using meta-analysis reasearch. Data collection techniques are carried out by searching journals, theses, scemes, scientific articles related to e-modules and guided inquiry models through the internet. The sample used was 10 data related to the development of e-modules using the guided inquiry model. The results of this meta-analysis study found that the level of validity for the development of e-modules using the guided inquiry model in all four aspects of validity was valid with an average validy on the content aspect was 0,85 with a valid category, presenting 0,84 valid categories, language 0,83 valid categories, grafic 0,71 valid caategories.  The level of practicality of educators in the development of e-modules using guided inquiry models obtained an average of 0,44 in the medium category, while the practicality of learners on average results was 0,67 with a high category. The development of guided inquiry-based e-modules can be caategoriezed as valid and practical, so, for the development of e-modules using the guided inquiry model in physics learning can be continued to the next stage, namely the effectiveness test

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum is a solution to answer the challenges of the 21st century. The Indonesian government has supported the application of integrated science learning and improvement of 21st century skills in schools. However, the real condition in the schools showed that science skill of of students was still limited to science process skill. This can be seen from the value of critical thinking and creative thinking skills respectively 60.93 and 61.77. Both of these values were still in the sufficient category. The solution to this problem is to apply an interactive learning model on the theme of digestive health. The objective of this research is was to investigate the effect of applying the interactive learning model on digestive health theme to improve critical thinking, creative thinking, and knowledge of grade VIII students in SMPN 30 Padang. This type of research can be incorporated into the classroom action research method with the cycle model. The object of the research consisted of 32 students. The research instrument consisted of written test for aspect of knowledge and performance assessment sheet for skills aspect. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and paired comparison test. From the result of data analysis it can be stated the result of this research, namely the application of the interactive learning model of the integrated science is effective to improve critical thinking and creative thinking skills, and learning outcomes in the cognitive aspect of students. Thus, interactive learning model can be used as an alternative for science teachers to improve critical thinking and creative thinking skills of students in schools.

Abstract

The ability to learn in the 4.0 revolution is still worrying. the lack of professional teachers to improve student needs, the learning system implements LOTS learning instead of Hots, the lack of teachers using IT in learning. The use of media is still simple. The method used is a meta-analysis of quantitative approaches through the calculation and analysis of data already in the article. The number of samples taken using six articles related to video from 2013-2018. Data analysis was performed using the sice effectuses a meta-analysis of four articles related to video. the number of samples taken using four articles starting from 2013-2017. Analytical techniques that use a quantitative approach effect sizes. from the video results obtained 1.47 with a very high category. the video had a major impact on students' heutagogy in learning physics

Abstract

IMTAQ development in schools is very important as an effort to gain the educational goals according to the constitution No. 20 of 2003 Article 3 which states that education aims to develop students ability in order to be a faithful and cautious man to Almighty God and have a good behavior. Therefore it is necessary to develop learning tools that try to integrate the IMTAQ values  in learning. Learning tools are very important for the teacher in order learning can run as expected. This research aims to develop physics learning tools with CTL approach based IMTAQ which  is valid, practical and effective. This research is the development research which refers to the research and development by Borg and Gall consisting of 10 steps of research. In this  research, those steps are modified in four stages, namely: 1) preliminary studies, 2) design of learning  tools, 3) development of learning tools, and 4) application of learning tools. Data collection was conducted using validation and testing learning tools. The design of the learning tools that have been designed was validated by 4 validators then tested at the class XI MAN 2 Padang. The research results showed that 1) physics learning tools with CTL  approach based IMTAQ that developed had been valid with some suggestions and improvements from the validator, 2) physics learning tools with CTL approach based IMTAQ was very practical  based on the observation of student’s activities, and the questionnaire responses of teachers, 3 ) physics learning tools with the CTL approach based IMTAQ has been effective based on learning outcomes and assessment of students IMTAQ. In general, physics learning tools with CTL approach based on IMTAQ have been already valid, practical, and effective to be used in learning. This learning tools can support the learning process and  integrate the values of IMTAQ in learning.

Abstract

Rendahnya motivasi, aktivitas belajar dan penguasaan konsep mahasiswa dalam mata kuliah Fisika Modern perlu disikapi dengan segera, karena hal ini akan berdampak kepada mata kuliah Fisika Lanjut. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan suatu proses pembelajaran yang terintegrasi/Program Terpadu Interaktif (tes kecil/kuis,pemberian konsep esensial, diskusi kelompok, diskusi kelas dan tugas mandiri dikontrol). Sebelum dilakukan tindakan, terlebih dahulu mahasiswa di tes, kemudian berdasarkan skor tes, mahasiswa dikelompokkan menjadi 6 kelompok yang homogen antara satu kelompok dengan kelompok lain. Selama proses penerapan program terpadu interaktif ini, setiap minggu di awal perkuliahan dilaksanakan kuis (materi kuis 70% materi yang lalu dan 30% materi yang akan dipelajari), pemberian konsep esensial, diskusi kelompok, diskusi kelas dan selama berlangsung perkuliahan dilakukan pengamatan menggunakan format observasi, perekaman suara dan gambar menggunakan handycam. Setiap akhir perkuliahan selalu dilakukan wawancara dengan 2 atau 3 orang mahasiswa yang dipilih secara acak,direkam menggunakan tape recorder. Diakhir setiap siklus dilakukan tes hasil belajar dan pengisian angket terbuka oleh mahasiswa. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh temuan bahwa : Skor kuis dari minggu ke minggu menunjukkan peningkatan, berarti adanya peningkatan usaha belajar, begitu juga dengan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar. Dari wawancara dan angket ditemukan bahwa mahasiswa merasa pikirannya lebih terbuka, belajar tanpa tekanan, situasi belajar lebih akrab, demokratis, merasa diri lebih berharga, dan terbina kerjasama yang baik.Kata Kunci : Action Research, Fisika Modern, Program Terpadu Interaktif

Abstract

Interactive multimedia provides a very important role in the learning process because using interactive multimedia can motivate students to learn so that ultimately learning objectives can be achieved as desired and can help students in facing educational challenges in the era of industrial globalization 4.0. This research was conducted with a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of interactive multimedia to improve learning outcomes, scientific literacy, and critical thinking skills of students in facing the challenges of education in the era of industrial globalization 4.0. The sample in this study was 5 (five) national journals that used interactive multimedia at the junior and senior high school level. The results of this study are: 1) interactive multimedia is most effectively used to improve student learning outcomes at the junior high school level; 2) interactive multimedia is most effectively used to improve students' critical thinking skills at the high school level, and 3) interactive multimedia is more effectively used at the junior secondary level and not at the senior secondary level in facing educational challenges in the era of industrial globalization 4.0

Abstract

Education is one of the main drivers of national development. The future of Indonesia will be determined by the generation of it is people with character and quality. Improving the quality of education can be realized if students and teachers a like try to improve competence and skills to be able to compete in the 21st century. Physics learning requires learners to develop 21st century skills. Practical books are guides that can help students in physics experiment. One learning model that fits the demands of the 21st century is Discovery Learning. Through this model, students can find their own concepts so that the understanding that is obtained lasts long in their memories, also students are easier to understand existing concepts. Physics learning requires students to do more experiments and research. The reality that is found, there is still a lack of physics practical books, so physics is only theoretically studied. Students have not found a real concept. Experiment equipment is not available optimally. This study aims to survey the analysis of the need for teaching materials in the form of books in schools that are needed in physics experiment. This type of research is descriptive analysis, data taken in this study were obtained from interviews with educators and students and direct observation. The research instrument consisted of questionnaire and observation sheet. The results of this study prove that it is necessary to develop teaching materials in the form of practical books based on discovery learning models assisted by Science KIT Lab as implementation of Indonesia’s future education

Abstract

Problems are often encountered in learning science Physics in class IX of MTsN Model Padang is the process of learning science Physics is less meaningful because the matter is less related to problems in daily life. This indicates that the behavior of character and critical thinking skills students in grade IX is still low. In addition, variations in the model / learning methods are applied to teachers in the classroom learning process is still lacked. The purpose of this study is to improve character’s behavior and critical thinking skills of students in grade IX MTsN Model Padang on Physics science use Problem Based Instruction model. This type of study is classroom action research. The research was carried out in class IX. 9 MTsN Model Padang in two cycles that began in November 2011 to December 2011. Data obtained through the research instrument, namely: the behavior observation sheet character, character’s behavior is limited questionnaire given to students each end of the cycle, and critical thinking skills test is conducted every meeting and analyzed by percentage analyze techniques (%). The study found there was an increase of 15.39% characterized the behavior of the criteria began to develop into 45.61% of students are on begins to develop criteria (MB), and 21.84% on the custom criteria (MK). Analysis of the character’s behavior questionnaire also showed that an increase of 38.71% criteria began to grow (MB) and 1.79% in the custom criteria (MK) to 59.15% in the criteria began to grow (MB) and 7.84% the criteria into the habit (MK). The analysis of critical thinking skills showed that there was an increase from 54.62 to 11.37 percentage completeness with a percentage of 75.14% to 63.91% completeness. Based on the research results can be concluded that the application of the model problem based instruction can improve students' behavior that characterized the impact on critical thinking skills.
