Abstract

Research on the problems that exist in Batusangkar 1 Senior High School, student learning competencies are still low. The efforts that can be done are to implement a time learning model that contains scientific literacy. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the time token model with scientific literacy on the learning competency of students' in Batusangkar 1 Senior High School. This type of research was experimental research with a randomized control group posttest only design. The population in this study were all class X MIPA Batusangkar 1 senior high school registered in the 2018/2019. Sampling was done using Purposive Sampling techniques. X MIPA 2 as the experimental class and X MIPA 1 as the control class. The instruments used were in the form of posttest questions for knowledge competencies, observation sheets for attitude and skills competencies. Based on the results of the study using the t-test it can be concluded that the knowledge competencies of students t count 3.41> t table 1.67, the attitudes  competency t count 5.95> t table 1.67, and the skills competency tcount 2.34 > t table 1.67. it shows that the hypothesis was accepted. So, the application of the time token model with scientific literacy can improve the competency of knowledge, attitudes, and skills of class X students of  senior high school 1 Batusangkar

Abstract

One feature of the 2013 Curriculum is that there is active interaction between students and teachers. Learning becomes more student-centered rather than teacher-centered. The results of observations of researchers at SMP 14 Padang showed that the teacher still applied direct instruction learning. So that many students are less active and still have low learning competencies. This study aims to see the effect of applying the crossword puzzle learning strategy to the learning competencies of students in excretory system material at Padang Public Junior High  School 14. The population in this study were all class VIII in SMP 14 Padang which were registered in the even semester of the 2018/2019 academic year totaling eight classes. Sampling was done using purposive sampling technique, which was chosen as the research sample was class VIII.4 as the experimental class and class VIII.5 as the control class. The research instrument used was in the form of posttest questions for knowledge competencies, observation sheets for attitude and skills competencies. The hypothesis in this study was tested using the t test. The t-test results revealed that the knowledge competencies t count> t table (5.04> 1.67), the competencies of the t-test attitude> t table (4.57> 1.67) and the skills competency t count> t table (4.35> 1, 67). This shows that the hypothesis is accepted. So it can be concluded that the application of the crossword puzzle learning strategy can improve the learning competencies of class VIII students on excretory system material at Padang Public Junior High School 14One feature of the 2013 Curriculum is that there is active interaction between students and teachers. Abstract

The problem of research at SMPN 34 Padang is the low level of Science Process Skills of students from the results of previous observations by carrying out tests conducted in class VII SMPN 34 Padang, showing the average science process skills of students is less than 50%. This study aims to look at the effect of the Problem Solving Model on Science Process Skills in Grade VIII students of SMPN 34 Padang. In Indonesia, science process skills are very minimal, because in the learning process the teacher still tends to use the lecture model and question and answer method, so the science process skills are not given to students. This type of research is quasi-experimental with research design Control Group Posttest Only Design. The population in this study were eighth -grade students of SMPN 34 Padang in the academic year 2018/2019. The samples from this study were class VIII6 as the experimental class and VIII7 as the control class. The research instrument used to view the science process skills of students is the Observation Sheet for Student Activities observed by the observer. Based on the results of research on science process skills of students, the t count 4.96> t table 1.67 The Science Process Skills Activity of students in the experimental class was higher than the control class. The study concluded that the application the Influence of Problem Solving Models on Science Process Skills of Students in the Material Excretion of Class VIII SMPN 34 Padang

Abstract

The low learning competencies of students is caused by several problems encountered during the teaching and learning process, including the problems that the first textbook used has not involved students actively playing a role in the learning process, learning is still monotonous and the student notebook is incomplete. One of the efforts that is done to increase students’ learning competencies is to apply a biological module with a scientific approach equipped with a glossary in discovery learning models. This research used a Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. The population is all student of class 1 SMAN 1 Pariaman. Sampel was taken by using purposive sampling  technique. The control class uses textbooks with learning models Discovery learning and experimental classes use biological modules with discovery learning models. Instrument The research instrument used was in the form of a learning competency test, an assessment of attitudes and skills in the form of an observation sheet. The t-test results revealed that knowledge competencies t count > t table (7.06> 1.7), t test results 'competency skills t count < t table ( 0,925< 1.7), and t test results' competency attitude t count < t table (0,76< 1.7). This shows that the hypothesis is accepted in the aspect of knowledge that is not followed by aspects of skills and attitudes. Abstract

High level learning ability (HOTS) is the ability of students to be critical and creative thinking skills. In 2013, students were required to be able to receive information and remember it, but students must be able to solve the problems they faced with the knowledge they needed. Based on observations, the instruments used by teachers are still at the level of C1-C3, while for high-level thinking abilities students must be able to think at the C4-C6 level. This study aims to analyze the ability of high-level thinking of students on material changes in the environment. The assessment instrument used is an instrument of assessment of high-level thinking ability that is valid, practical, reliable and has good quality items. The instrument is said to be valid if the instrument can measure what should be measured. The practicality of the assessment instrument depends on how easily the instrument is used to assess students' abilities. Reliable means that the instrument gives the same results when tested in the same group at different times. An instrument that has good quality items is an instrument that has a moderate level of difficulty and sufficient differentiation, good and very good. Based on the results of the test questions, the average value of students is 41.37 which is still categorized as low. The low level of students' high-level thinking skills can be improved by familiarizing students with higher-order thinking and using scientific learning models.
