Abstract

The purpose of this article is to explain the essence of student’s character formation through educational and family institutions. It is also discuss the central rule of moral education in both institutions. Furthermore it explains the three pillars of education such as school, family and society. These three pillars have significant educational function. In the last section of this article, the writer trays to raise the case of character education through the subject of sociology for the senior middle school (SMA) students. Abstract

ABSTRACT The goals for planning in sustainable development are promoting economic growth, advocating social justice and protecting green areas. It is not a coherent concept because there are conflict interests among these goals. Sustainable development as a normative concept is vulnerable to question whether it is a useful model to guide planning practice. To achieve sustainable planning goals, these conflicting interests must be reconciled. The conflicts between divergent interests lead to three associated conflicts, that is property conflict, resource conflict, and development conflict. Triangular model  of conflicting goals for planning and the three associated conflicts can be used as a model to guide planning practice on sustainable issues. Abstract

This article is abstracted from the results of research on the partnership system and the continuity of the work of cocoa farmers in Besowo Kediri village. One of the strategies used to support the sustainability of the workforce in cocoa farming is to increase cooperation in partnership with various parties or institutions, both government, private, and inter-farmers in the development of cocoa plantation. The structure of the writing begins with the introduction as the background to the selection of issues discussed in this paper. Then this article continued a description of the factors that affect the cocoa farming partnership system in Besowo. This section describes the workings of Besowo villagers, factors affecting the cocoa farming partnership system, and the partnership form of the cocoa farmer community in Besowo Village. The next section is to review the continuity of the work of production activities and the employment opportunities of cocoa farmers. The last is the conclusion of this paper by connecting partnerships and continuity of work to improve the welfare of the family of plantation farmers.Keywords: Partnership system, cocoa farmer, cocoa plantation

Abstract

This study aims to describe the professionalism aspects of public service personnel at Department of Education in Padangpanjang City. This study uses a quantitative approach with the type of ex post-facto. The study population consisted of heads of household in Padangpanjang totaling 10,864 individuals and were spread in two districts and 16 villages. Sample was taken in two stages, cluster sampling and proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using a statistical percentage, mean, and other central tendency according to research interests. Results of this study indicated that the professionalism of the public service personnel in the field of education in Padangpanjang is still not optimal. Abstract

Theoretically, the role of managers can be classified into two groups, that is the roles of internal and external. Internal roles were associated with relationship managers and employees, which led to job satisfaction in his/her job, and external roles were associated with relationship managers with citizens who may create citizen satisfaction. This study uses a quantitative approach with a stratified random sampling technique and the data were analyzed with correlational statistics. The results of this study show that the proposed constructs of manager role by Mintzberg's theory and constructs known citizen satisfaction with disconfirmation satisfaction of “Ryzin & Greg, Expectancy Disconfirmation Model of Citizen Satisfaction with Local Government”, showed a significant positive correlation. Abstract

Public service is a thing which must be implemented and complied optimally by a Government to satisfy the wishes and needs of the community. The number of complaints on the catapult of public opinion on the public service by the Government at least be able to portray the state of the quality of public service that currently enjoy the community. This study will analyze the quality of public service and the factors that may effect the quality of public services in the office of licensing and investment services (KP3M) Solok Regency.This study used a qualitative descriptive approach. The data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation study. The finding of this study showed that the quality of care licensing in the District of Solok KP3M is not good enough. It can be seen from the state office buildings are not adequate services, lack of support facilities and services have not explained the procedure and the completion time of licensing services. While service quality is good enough permissions can be seen from the attitude of employees KP3M in serving the community. In addition there are several factors that effect the poor quality of the services license KP3M Solok regency, such as technology of information and communication, culture and social environment

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the development of consumption expenditure of urban residents, the spending patterns of food and non food consumption of urban residents, the MPC for food and non food of urban residents, and the function of food and non food consumption of urban residents in Jambi province. Descriptive analysis method was used as data analysis in this study. The results of this study showed that during the time period of 1993-2011 per capita consumption expenditure of urban residents in Jambi always increase with an average of 52.11 percent per three years, or 17.37 percent annually. Meanwhile, the pattern of consumption expenditure of urban residents  in Jambi province is still dominated by food consumption expenditure by the average of 55.09 percent while non-food consumption only amounted to 44.01 percent. However, the spending patterns of food and non food consumption of urban residents Jambi province has changed. The function of food consumption of urban residents Jambi province during the period 1993-2011was by 25.8 percent and 23.8 percent  for non-food.Keyword: The function of consumption, consumption patterns, food and non-food

Abstract

ABSTRACT Cheating on test, which is a perennial problem in higher education, is a fraudulent act that could result a blurred evaluation process. This study aims to identify the characteristics of cheating behaviour on test and to analyze determining factors of cheating behaviour among students of Economic Faculty, the State University of Padang. This study was an ex-post facto. The data in this study were collected through quetionnaire and analyzed with descriptive and factor analysis techniques. The results of this study indicated that there are some characteristics of student’s cheating  behaviour: 39,7% of them used materials or aids that have not been approved by lecturer, 62,7% copied the answers from their friends or allowed the answers to be copied, 58,8% shared the answers or consulted them with their friends, and 27,8% accessed the answers outside the room. The determining factors of cheating behaviour consisted of: mastery of the material, learning factors, success story, self-concept, personal motives, situational, and social factors.
