Abstract

Based on the results of observation, interview and questionnaire analysis of students’ needs, researchers obtained information that there were error typing in the 2013 curriculum textbook used. Moreover, students of SMP Negeri 1 Wonopringgo had a lack of conceptual understanding. Based on the results of students’ needs analysis in certain class stated that students need worksheet as a companion of textbooks material, there were 43.75% of the total students said worksheet with picture story is more interesting while 56.25% students said worksheet with stories related to daily life is more interesting to learn. The purpose of this research was to develop Story-Based Students’ Worksheet used by Reciprocal Teaching Model for Data Presentation Material Class VII that is valid and feasible to increase students’ conceptual understanding. This research is R&D (Research and Development) using Borg and Gall model. The instruments used by researchers were observation sheet, interview guide, questionnaire of student requirement and product validation questionnaire. Questionnaires student needs were used to find out the needs of students based on the questions given. While the validation sheet was used to test validity of the validated product by 8 validators consisting of 5 teachers and 3 lecturers. The results of validation were analized quantitative used by Aiken’s formula. Based on the research, validator stated students’ worksheet was feasible to be used in learning with revision. Researchers improved the students’ worksheet according to the direction of the validator, both in terms of appearance and content of students’ worksheet. Furthermore after doing the second validation, the result of 8 validators assesment analysis obtained 0,832 with extremely valid criteria. It showed that the worksheet is valid to increase students’ conceptual understanding and also suitable to be used in learning process.

Abstract

The aims of this research are: (1) to find out whether the students’ ability to understand mathematic concept using POGIL method is better than the ability of studentswith expository learning, (2) to perceive whether the conceptual understanding of students with high self-efficacy is better than the students with medium and low self-efficacy, (3) to find out if the high self-efficacy students’ mathematic conceptual understanding ability is better by applying POGIL than expository method, if the medium self-efficacy students’ mathematic conceptual understanding ability is better by applying POGIL than expository method and if the low self-efficacy students’ mathematic conceptual understanding ability is better by applying POGIL than expository method.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of critical thinking skills in solving mathematics problems students grade VIIIC SMP Negeri 1 Kalibawang Academic Year 2017/2018. Critical thinking was high level thinking, which tag by analyze and need additional explanation. Aspects of critical thinking were basic support, strategy, elementary clarification, advances clarification and make inference. This type of research is qualitative research. Subjects in this study are students of class VIIIC SMP Negeri 1 Kalibawang, consist of 26 students. Technique of collecting data are done by test and interview test. Taking data using the instrument in the form of a description test that have 4 items. Results of student work are examined and grouped into 3 groups, which are high, middle and low groups. Furthermore, interviews are conducted on 6 students purposively, consisting of 2 students per group. Each subject is interviewed based on the student's work, then the interview data is transcript and triangulation is done to test the validity of the data. The result of the research indicates that the result of the analysis of the critical thinking ability in solving the problem of the material description and the volume of building the flat side space of beams and cubes are as follows: (1) building basic skills included in the high category with the percentage of 75,96 %, (2) determining strategy and tactics to solve problems including in medium category with percentage equal to 68,03%, (3) giving elementary clarification including in high category with percentage equal to 75,48% , (4) make advances clarification included in medium category with percentage equal to 68,75%, (5) make inference included in high category with percentage equal to 71,39%.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were: (1) to understand does Cycle Learning 5E and Brainstorming Methods learning method produce the better mathematics communication capability rather than direct learning method, (2) to understand are students with high motivation have better mathematic communication skills than students with average motivation, are students with average motivation have better mathematic communication skills than students with low motivation, (3) to understand for students with high and average motivation does Cycle Learning 5E and Brainstorming method produce mathematic communication skills better than direct learning and for low motivation students does it produce the same mathematic skills with direct learning. (4) to compare on high with average motivation students, also both the average with low motivation students and high with low motivation students about how Cycle Learning 5E and Brainstorming methods gives them the better mathematic communication skills. This is a quantitative research with pseudo-experiment methods. The population of this research was all the VII grade students of Batang State 1 Junior High School. Sampling method was by Cluster Random Sampling technique. The data collection was using test method and questionnaire method. Data was analyzed by two ways Annova.Result shows that: (1) Cycle Learning 5E and Brainstorming method gives better mathematic communication skills for students rather than direct learning; (2) students with high motivation have better mathematics communication skills than low motivation students, while high and average motivation students have the equal level of mathematic communication skills, and same goes to students with average and low motivation; (3) for all students with high, average and low motivation, the Cycle Learning 5E and Brainstorming method gives better mathematics communication skills than direct learning; (4) on teaching with Cycle Learning 5E and Brainstorming method, high motivation students have better mathematic communication skills rather than low motivation students, while they have equal communication skills with average motivation students. This condition happens also to the average and low motivation students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi metode eksperimen dalam  meningkatkan ketrampilan bereksperimen dan mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI MIPA SMA. Peneliti berperan sebagai pengajar langsung di Kelas XI MIPA SMA. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam siklus-siklus, tiap siklusnya terdiri dari satu kali praktikum. Model penelitian tindakan kelas yang dipakai adalah model Spiral dan Taggart. Materi yang diajarkan melalui metode  eksperimen  pada penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah gelombang mekanik. Berdasarkan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas melalui dua siklus yang telah dilakukan pada siswa kelas XI MIPA SMA mata pelajaran fisika materi gelombang mekanik, dapat disimpulkan bahwa: Penggunaan metode eksperimen dalam pembelajaran fisika dapat meningkatkan nilai rata-rata keterampilan eksperimen siswa dari 62,1 menjadi 66,2. Pembelajaran fisika dengan metode eksperimen dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa yang ditandai dengan peningkatan nilai rata-rata hasil pretest sebesar 47,3 postest siklus I sebesar 55,2 meningkat menjadi 60,5 pada siklus II.

Abstract

Non-formal education is a path of education outside of formal educational line made by the government to facilitate people who can’t take a formal education. Learning time on non-formal education is much less compared to formal education. Therefore, it becomes a problem for the people who take a non-formal education. In addition, the lack of learning innovations also become constraints in non-formal schools.The study developed E-learning based Moodle which contains learning materials, assignments, and the question of the test. It aimed to develop a valid and practical E-learning. This development research used the development model of Thiagarajan et al. The stages in this research were defining, designing, and developing.Based on the results of the study, obtained E-learning which could increase the learning time and provide innovations in non-formal school learning. Meanwhile, the average total aspect of all validators was 4.19. According to the validation criteria, it could be concluded that the developed E-learning was included in the valid category. After E-learning practical stated, then the E-learning was tested in XI graders of PKBM Al-Hikmah Tangkil Kulon. Based on the average questionnaire which was given to the learning community, the results were obtained x=3,31 after testing. Based on the criteria of practicality, it could be concluded that the developed E-learning was practical. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to develop valid tools for mathematic lessons. In this research, the developed lesson was basic mathematic capita selecta textbook based on Telaah, Eksplorasi, Rumuskan, Presentasikan, Aplikasikan, Duniawi dan Ukhrowi (TERPADU) to increase student’s problem solving in mathematic. The lesson tools which would be developed were: (1) Syllabus, (2) Semester Development Plan (SDP), (3) Textbook, and (4) Mathematic Problem Solving Skill Test, for students of Mathematic Educational Department, Wiralodra University. The development model used were lesson tools’s developing using Plomp modificate-model. The validity of lesson tools were assested by expert team validation and colleges. The result gained validation for tools developed by five experts and gained overall average score “usable”. This validation counted as an excellent category thus the tools are valid.

Abstract

The result of the research showed that the experiment group has the average grade is 77,89, and the index can be gained z hitung = 2,836 > z tabel = 1,64 it means H 0 is dismissed (has reached the exchaustiveness). The result of the difference of two proportions test the thoroughness of the ability of solving problem, obtained z hitung = 2,31 > z tabel = 1,64, so H 0 is dismissed (the proportion of exchaustivenessthe ability of solving problem using NHT is more than conventional method). It can be concluded that the teachers must use the cooperatif method, especially with NHT model to improve the ability of solving problems for their students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang valid, praktis dan efektif dalam membangun pemahaman tentang dalil Pythagoras. Hasil Penelitian ini adalah produk media pembelajaran berupa puzzle PuPPy (Puzzle Pembuktian Pythagoras). Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implementation, Evaluation). Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi media, lembar kepraktisan, pretest, posttest, dan lembar pendapat siswa. Media ini diujicobakan kepada 28 orang siswa kelas VIII D SMP Negeri 2 Tuntang Kabupaten Semarang. Uji kevalidan menghasilkan persentase 94,61 (sangat baik) dari ahli media dan 91,33% (sangat baik) dari ahli materi. Adapun analisis uji kepraktisan oleh guru menghasilkan persentase sebesar 95,5% dikategorikan sangat baik. Selain itu uji keefektifan menggunakan N-Gain memperoleh peningkatan sebesar 0,71 yang dikategorikan peningkatan tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa media PuPPy merupakan media yang valid, praktis dan efektif untuk membantu siswa mebangun pemahaman tentang dalil Pythagoras.
