Abstract

Objective. This study aimed to investigate whether climbing stairs and squat jump training had an impact on smash results, and also to determine which of these two training methods was more effective for improving smash results. The study focused on the men's volleyball team at SMA Negeri 1 Dampal Selatan. Materials and methods. This is an experimental research that follows the Two-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The volleyball smash test was used as the instrument for this research. The research was conducted on 12 members of the Men's Volleyball Team at SMA Negeri 1 Dampal Selatan. The data analysis technique used for this research was the t-test. Results. According to the t-test results for the Up and Down Stairs exercise, it is evident that the t count (6.318) is greater than the t -able (1.795). Similarly, for the Squat Jump exercise, the t-test results indicate that the t-count (5.085) is greater than the t-table (1.795). The percentage results show that the improvement in Smash ability was 13.76% with climbing and descending stairs training and 14.31% with Squat Jump training. Conclusion. After analyzing the percentage increase, the results suggest that Squat Jump training is a more effective method for enhancing Smash results in the volleyball game for the men's team at SMA Negeri 1 Dampal Selatan. This implies that incorporating Squat Jump training into the team's regular training routine may lead to better Smash outcomes during the game.

Abstract

Objective. The main objective of this research is to investigate the influence of physical education on the growth and development of student's character. This particular teaching methodology aims to shape the individual's personality holistically by promoting physical activity. The positive impact of this approach is not restricted to the mental sphere alone but also extends to the moral and ethical aspects of students' character. This study aims to explore the various ways in which physical education can enhance the overall caliber of students by promoting their physical fitness, mental well-being, and character development. Materials and Methods. Integrating character development with physical education through a character-based education approach can prove to be an effective way to enhance the overall development of an individual. This approach can holistically improve various aspects of an individual's growth, such as cognitive, physical, social-emotional, creative, and spiritual development. The research on this topic has been conducted using qualitative methods that rely on descriptive data obtained through literature studies. Results. Personality denotes a unique configuration of cognitive, affective, and behavioral traits that distinguishes an individual and shapes their interpersonal dynamics within various social units, ranging from the microcosm of the family to the macrocosm of the nation-state. The overarching objective of personality development is to engender individuals who embody values such as fidelity, integrity, physical and psychological well-being, erudition, understanding, originality, self-sufficiency, and civic accountability. In this regard, the domains of physical education and sports assume an instrumental role in fortifying and honing individual character through targeted interventions that address physical fitness, motor skills, psychological resilience, and ethical conduct. Conclusion. Various studies have shown that implementing physical education methodologies in school curricula can positively impact students' psychological and character development. This means that physical activities and exercises can help students not only improve their physical health but also their mental and emotional well-being, as well as their social skills and moral values. Therefore, it is important to recognize the significant role that physical education can play in promoting a holistic and well-rounded education for students.

Abstract

Objective. The research problem lies in the lack of understanding about comparing pointing throwing techniques with standing and squatting styles in the game of petanque at the Hamzanwadi Club. This study explores and analyzes the differences between pitching throwing techniques and standing and squatting styles in the game of petanque at the Hamzanwadi Club. Materials and methods. The study utilizes a descriptive research methodology, employing a quantitative approach to gather and analyze data. The research design is non-experimental, focusing on observing and describing phenomena without manipulating variables. Results. The research results indicate a significant difference. This is because the critical value in the t-table is 2.571, while the obtained t-value is 3.447, which exceeds the critical value for the null hypothesis (Ho). Since the t-value (3.447) > t-table (2.571), the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. The study's findings demonstrate a distinction between the standing pointing throw and the squatting pointing throw, as the calculated t-value (3.447) > t-table (2.571). Conclusion. The athletes from the Petanque Hamzanwadi Club meticulously compared and analyzed the throwing techniques of standing pointing and squatting pointing to gain a deeper understanding of the differences between the two methods.

Abstract

Objective. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the potential impact of zig-zag running training on the dribbling speed of basketball extracurricular students enrolled at SMP Negeri 1 Bunga Mayang OKU Timur. The study aims to analyze whether this particular training technique can improve the students' dribbling speed, which is a crucial skill in basketball. The study will collect data from a sample of students and analyze the results to conclude the effectiveness of zig-zag running training on dribbling speed. Materials and methods. This is descriptive quantitative research that uses data analysis techniques to measure instruments or tests. The research employs T-test statistical data to conduct normality and hypothesis tests. The research subjects are students participating in basketball extracurricular activities at SMP Negeri 1 Bunga Mayang. Results. According to the analysis of the research data, the value of t_table is 1.860. This value has been obtained from the t distribution with dk (10-2) = 8 and α=0.05, as listed in the table. The hypothesis testing criteria indicate that if t_count > t_table, the Hα hypothesis is accepted, and if Ho t_count < t_tabel, it is rejected. The t_count value in this case is 14.09, which is greater than the t_table value of 1.860. Therefore, we can conclude that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test. Conclusion. After conducting the necessary tests and analysis, it has been found that the Ho hypothesis, which stated that there is no significant influence of zig-zag running training on dribbling speed in basketball extracurricular students at SMP Negeri 1 Bunga Mayang OKU Timur, is not supported by the data. On the other hand, the Hα hypothesis, which states that there is an influence of zig-zag running training on dribbling speed in the same group of students, has been confirmed by the results of the study. Therefore, it can be concluded that the zig-zag running training has a positive impact on the dribbling speed of basketball extracurricular students at SMP Negeri 1 Bunga Mayang OKU Timur.

Abstract

Objectives. The main aim of this experimental study is to thoroughly investigate and analyze the influence of arm and abdominal muscle strength on the technique of performing a football throw-in. The study will specifically focus on students from SMAN 7 Gowa, aiming to provide a comprehensive understanding of how these physical attributes can impact the execution of this fundamental football skill. Material and Method. In a recent study, 24 extracurricular football players from SMAN 7 Gowa participated in an assessment of their throw-in skills. The study collected data through pretest and posttest evaluations of the players' throw-in abilities. The data was analyzed using descriptive analysis methods to gain insights into the players' performance and skill development throughout the study. Results. After conducting a thorough analysis, the study found a significant correlation between arm muscle strength and the length of throw-ins among extracurricular football players at SMAN 7 Gowa. Additionally, the analysis also revealed a correlation between abdominal muscle strength and throw-in length among the same group of players. Conclusions. In the extracurricular football games at SMAN 7 Gowa, a study conducted to analyze the factors influencing a player's throw-in distance revealed that arm muscle strength was found to have a more pronounced impact on the distance of a player's throw-in compared to abdominal muscle strength. This suggests that upper body strength, particularly in the arms, may be a critical factor in determining the effectiveness of throw-ins in football.
