Abstract

Older adults require a service known as Elderly Integrated Service Posts (Posyandu Lansia) to achieve better health status, independence, and to become healthy, active, and productive, as they often face various health issues, including degenerative and cognitive problems at this stage of life. The purpose of this study is to describe the effectiveness of the Elderly Program Services at the Integrated Service Post (Posyandu) Sumber Mulya. The author used a qualitative descriptive approach. The research method employed was qualitative descriptive techniques, with data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. To gather research data, the researcher interviewed 13 informants as a sample. Data analysis techniques consisted of three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion or verification. The findings revealed that the services for the elderly at Posyandu Kurik 6 Sumber Mulya, Merauke District have not been effective when evaluated using three indicators according to Budiani. Regarding the program’s socialization, it has not been conducted regularly and clearly by the organizers. Additionally, the goal achievement has also been ineffective, both in terms of the implementation process and in phases, and monitoring indicators have not been properly conducted by the organizers. Furthermore, there is a lack of concern from volunteers and midwives for the elderly community members who are unable to attend the Posyandu Lansia program.

Abstract

The development of the palm oil industry in Papua, especially in Merauke Regency, has had a major impact on workers' welfare. Although palm oil production continues to increase, conditions for palm oil workers are often inadequate, including low wages, job uncertainty, and a lack of job protection. Even though there are sustainability certification efforts such as ISPO, many labor rights violations still occur. The importance of worker protection is recognized internationally through the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP BHR). However, its implementation is still less than optimal in the field. Solutions to improve the welfare of palm oil workers involve collaboration between workers, government and companies. This includes the formation of strong labor unions, the implementation of labor-oriented CSR policies, and increased government regulations regarding minimum wages and job protection. Synergy between the three parties is needed to achieve better worker welfare in the Papuan palm oil industry, especially in Merauke Regency

Abstract

Public services are closely related to community welfare and public trust in the government. This phenomenon shows that the quality of public services in Merauke Regency is still unequal, especially in terms of service distribution. Real interaction between the community and public servants can be seen in sub-district offices spread across each district in Merauke Regency. This research aims to analyze the public's response to the quality of public services at sub-district offices by involving five sub-variables, namely tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy. The data collection method uses a questionnaire which was developed based on sub-variables into 32 questionnaire items whose validity was tested. The validation process is carried out to test the validity of the instrument to be used through face validation involving experts. The respondents involved as research samples were sixty people taken randomly from each district. The results of filling out the questionnaire showed that the sub-variables were 25% reliability, 16% responsiveness, 18% assurance, 13% empathy and 28% tangibles. Data is presented through descriptive statistics via tables, recapitulation of scoring results and bar charts. The results of the analysis provide the following facts that the tangibles sub-variable obtained the largest percentage which shows that the physical appearance of facilities, equipment and personnel appearance influences community satisfaction. Therefore, as public servants, employees need to pay attention to service quality which includes four main aspects.

Abstract

This research explores the political behavior and political participation of the Rajuni Village community in Takabonerate Sub-district, Selayar Islands Regency, South Sulawesi, in the context of the 2020 Regional Head Election. Using a qualitative approach and a case study design, this research explores the factors that influence political choices and the level of community participation in 3T (Disadvantaged, Frontier and Outermost) areas. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with Rajuni villagers, community leaders, village officials, and representatives of non-governmental organizations. Data analysis included three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the political choices of the Rajuni Island community were influenced by money politics, political awareness, and mobilization by local figures. The Bugis tribe is more likely to be influenced by money politics with a Rational Choice approach. Political awareness is also important, where voters consider the vision, mission and programs of candidates that are relevant to their needs. Mobilization by economically influential local figures also influences political choices. The level of political participation of the Rajuni Island community is quite high, reaching 70% in the 2018 Governor Election and the 2020 Selayar Islands Regency Regent Election. This research provides insights into political behavior and community participation in an archipelago with significant geographic and social challenges.

Abstract

Effectiveness refers to achieving the goals of government services to the community. Regional tax collection is the process of collecting funds from taxpayers by the local government. Siapdol is a website-based application for information services and tax payments in Sumedang Regency. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of local tax collection through Siapdol at the Regional Revenue Agency of Sumedang Regency using descriptive qualitative research methods and purposive sampling. Data collection techniques include literature study, observation, interviews, and documentation, which are processed through data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The research results show that the effectiveness of tax collection through Siapdol is quite good, as seen from socialization, management resources, facilities and infrastructure, service mechanisms, ease of access, security and accuracy of tax data. However, its effectiveness is not yet optimal due to limited employee technology skills, availability of internet access, and public awareness. Suggestions for increasing effectiveness include intensive outreach and education to the taxpayer community, periodic updating of facilities and infrastructure, ongoing technical training for employees, as well as development of additional features for periodic monitoring and evaluation.
