Abstract

Apperception constitutes the initial stage of learning process, but is often missed in the implementation of learning activities. Apperception can help students understand instructional materials. The relation of the learning process to fiqh material is often seen as monotonous and rigid. When fiqh is taught as something doctrinaire, the output will also be droctilary. By contrast, when fiqh is delivered through something that highlights the potential and characteristics of students, these students will be able to relate what they have learned to their real-life activities, leading to humanist and religious classes. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between apperception on fiqh instructional materials and the development of humanist classes. This research is a quantitative descriptive study. The population was 40 students. Data were collected through a questionnaire with a random sampling method, and analysed through the product moment correlation. The results showed that apperception in fiqh subjects had an average (19,275) which means it was included in the medium category, building a religious humanist class had an average (18,075) which meant it was included in the medium category. Then the conclusion apperception in fiqh lessons have an influence in building students' religious humanist classes at MTs Miftahul Ulum Kudus.

Abstract

Santri—i.e., students in Islamic boarding school—resources are one of the elements in the management of Islamic boarding schools. Santri are the first consumer of the service management provided by educational institutions such as Islamic boarding schools. As the main consumer, there is a need for a good and orderly management system for santri so that the objectives of Islamic boarding schools are more directed and can be optimally achieved. Hence, Islamic boarding schools have to carry out resource management for santri so they are able to recruit santri who are truly qualified, are able to adapt, and can put visions and missions of the school into practice. Formulations of this study are as follows: 1. How to design Santri resource planning at Bairul Arqom Islamic Boarding School, Balung? 2. What systems are used for the purpose of recruitment and selection of Santri at Bairul Arqom Islamic Boarding School, Balung? 3. What type of orientation and placement processes of Santri resources are used in Bairul Arqom Islamic Boarding School, Balung?, and 4. How santri resources at Islamic Boarding School Bairul Arqom Islamic Boarding School, Balung, are evaluated? The method used in this study is a qualitative method with data obtained through argumentation. Sources of the data are from interviews, observation and documentation of the data owned by the Islamic boarding school. The results show that activities in santri resource management carried out in Baitul Arqom Islamic boarding school, Balung, are as follows: 1. The design of Santri resource planning is periodically designed and arranged based on the needs and results of discussion among selected committee, 2. Open recruitment patterns involve external sources (e.g., alumni recommendation), and the selection processes involve administrative selection. 3. The orientation is done formally in the form of Khutbatul asry and a week of introduction, 4. Assessment of santri is done in three ways, namely a writing test, speaking test, and daily observation.

Abstract

The current curriculum is oriented towards character education and is no longer oriented towards achieving competence, especially during the current Covid-19 pandemic, learning cannot be carried out face-to-face but online. This research is intended to dig deeper into the teacher's efforts in shaping the character of students at al-Mustaqim Private Madrasah Ibtidaiya, starting from the findings in the pre-survey that students have been accustomed to good behavior, besides that the teacher always provides exemplary actions and attitudes. Ofcourse this is a unique finding that needs to be investigated more deeply. The research method used is qualitative-descriptive research, which is to collect data in the form of observations and interviews from related parties at MIS al-Mustaqim. Based on the research conducted, it was found that the teacher's efforts in shaping students' religious character were habituation and exemplary, giving motivation and advice. In addition, there are also supporting factors in the form of cooperation between the two parties, parental care, supporting facilities and infrastructure, and synergistic commitment. and the obstacles in the form of lack of student awareness, lack of supervision from the teacher, varied character of students and the technology used is not effective and targeted. Thus, it can be concluded that habituation and exemplary methods are the best efforts that teachers can do to shape student character, even so to form student character is not easy, there must be obstacles to be overcome, so it requires carefulness and patience from the teacher.

Abstract

This case study aims to explore (1) the role of religious-subjects teachers in building students’ character, (2) problems faced by the teachers in doing so, and (3) a number of solutions that may be used to solve the problems. Three approaches were carried out to collect the data: participant observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis technique is done in three ways: data reduction, data serving (display), and inferencing. The validity of the data obtained was ensured through referential sufficiency and triangulation to espouse the criteria of credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The study was conducted at SMA Sultan Agung in Kasiyan Puger. The results of this study shows that both internal and external elements were involved. The internal elements included the principal, the vise principal for curriculum design, and all teachers, while the external element includes foundation, school committee and figures of local society. Abstract

Studying Tajwid (science of reciting the Koran) is the fardlu kifāyah, but practicing it in reciting the Koran is fardlu ‘ain, so Tajwid has been taught to Muslim children since they learned to recite the Koran. However, it has been considered to be very demanding and problematic. The conventional methods used tend to be uninteresting and boring. For that reason, a learning media that makes teachers and students is in an interactive, effective and joyful learning process is needed. One of them is Tajwid Putar, a media created by Jeni Agustina Suyanto, a teacher of MAN 1 Lubuklinggau, South Sumatra. According to her, TPQ Ar-Risalah is the only educational institution in East Java that used Tajwid Putar. The objectives of this study were to describe the Tajwid learning process by implementing Tajwid Putar, the students’ interest in learning in Tajwid using Tajwid Putar, and the learning achievement in Tajwid using Tajwid Putar. This study used a qualitative approach. The data was collected by interview, observation and documents, which were then analyzed by using an interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The result suggested that the learning process of Tajwid which employed the Tajwid Putar has been effectively made students to be more active, interactive and festive, so that they quickly understood Tajwid and was able to recite the Koran well. Students’ enthusiasm was increased in learning Tajwid compared to the use of conventional methods. The students' learning achievement was also shown to be increased, which could be measured by the score of the test contained within the student report book

Abstract

Leadership can be interpreted as a process of influencing and directing citizens or workers to do work according to their duties. The fact is that in Indonesia many leaders who are wrongfully caught buying and selling positions, corruption and so on. A leader must have a noble mind, because he will be a role model, he who will create opportunities and provide encouragement as well as input to its members. Like the Javanese language slogan from the father of education which is often promoted in the world of education Ing Ngarso Sung Tulodo, Ing Madyo Mangun Karso and Tut Wuri Handayani. In Islam, Allah has given examples of exemplary living examples namely the Prophet Muhammad who has the nature of siddiq, tabligh, trust and fathanah. The main types of Islamic education leadership include authoritarian leadership, free leadership and democratic leadership. While complementary Islamic education leadership types include charismatic leadership types, guardian leadership types, expert leader types, organizational and administrator leadership types, agitator leadership types.

Abstract

This study entitled " EFFORTS IN ESTABLISHING RELIGIOUS CULTURE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MUHAMMADIYAH JEMBER. The problems were formulated as follows: 1). How religious culture at the university of Muhammadiyah Jember was conceptualized, 2). How the culture was created or established. This is a case study adopting a qualitative approach with 3 Blater as informants. Data were collected through: a) Participant observation, b) In-depth interviews. c) Documentation and literature review. This concept is then reflected in the integrative-interconnected religious curriculum applied at the University of Muhammadiyah Jember, linking one with another. Meanwhile, the concept of Islamic study in the creation of religious culture on campus environment of the university is through the implementation of learning in and outside the classroom, for example, the implementation of several activities outside the classroom is due to solid lecturers, especially AIK lecturers, with activities that include mentoring, social activities, congregational prayer, whereas in-class activities follow the standard of the curriculum of the university. In addition, strategies for establishing religious culture at the university were done through two strategies: cultural and structural. The cultural strategies include getting each individual to get used to carrying out programs or activities that are of high with Islamic values, while the structural strategies are concerned primarily with stakeholders, especially students.

Abstract

Education has become a "trademark" in Muhammadiyah movement, as a concrete form of the role of Muhammadiyah in empowering Muslims and the intellectual minds of the nation. Discussion of Muhammadiyah-based education cannot be separated from the figure of K.H. Ahmad Dahlan, involving the focus of ultimate truth to capture what was implicit in Al-Manaar's interpretation so that although he did not have a western education, he was able to open the gate of rationality through the teachings of Islam itself, which was called ijtihad. By rejecting taqlid. KH. Ahmad Dahlan can be regarded as a "model" in the generation of revival which is a "central point" of a movement that appears to overcome the challenges facing Islam in the form of backwardness and stagnation in the Islamic educational system. Unlike a number of national figures in his days who were more concerned with political and economic issues, K.H. Ahmad Dahlan devoted himself fully in the field of education. Based on this description, this study aimed to investigate the concept of Islamic education from KH. Ahmad Dahlan’s perspectives. In particular, the direction of this study was to understand the goals of Islamic education according to K.H. Ahmad Dahlan, the conceptualisation of Islamic education curriculum according to K. Ahmad Dahlan, as well as the methods of Islamic educational practice according to K. AH Ahmad Dahlan. The study was library research with the technique for data collection including documentation conducted through looking for data about things or variables in the form of notebook transcripts, newspapers, magazines, inscriptions, minutes, meetings, agendas, and so on. Data analysis were carried out through descriptive analysis. The findings of this study revealed that the perspectives of KH. Ahmad Dahlan about Islamic education: first, the aim of Islamic education is to maintain the purity of human beings; second, the curriculum is integral; third, and the method of hiwar/repetition, balance and proportionality between theory and practice was used.

Abstract

Education is an important factor which cannot be segregated from the life of all human beings, both individually and collectively. Strategies employed by the teacher of PAI (Islamic education) thus have an important role in establishing students’ personality, especially with regard to their religious character. The teaching of PAI therefore must be performed gradually and continuously. Students' ability in reading Qur'an must be improved significantly. A method of habituation constitutes one that can be used to improve students' ability in reading Qur’an. The problems in this research are as follows: 1. How did a PAI teacher overcome problems and difficulties in reading Qur'an through the use of a habituation method at SMK Al Kholily Mlokorejo Puger Jember?; 2. What were inhibiting factors and what were the solutions? This study employed a qualitative approach in the form of a case study. Data were colleted by ways of observation and interviews. The respondents were students at SMK Al Kholily Mlokorejo Puger Jember. The results revealed that the difficulties in reading Qur’an can be improved through the use of a habituation method.

Abstract

Children are usually considered to maintain good behavior if they act in accordance with religious values (e.g., performing five prayers daily, fasting during the entire month of Ramadhan, being respectful and obedient to their parents, etc.). With respect to the latter (i.e., moral education), it is generally associated with tarbiyah since both aim to develop children’s noble character and proper behavior. There are, however, different ways as to how a certain group of community attempt to develop such character and behavior among children. People living in Bagon Kedung Sumur, for instance, have long carried out moral education for their younger generation by developing and reinforcing behaviors that appear to conform their religious beliefs (e.g., nurturing noble dispositions, requiring five prayers and other religious practices as well as sharpening children’s intellectual and social quotient). The goal of these efforts are to enable children to develop behavior that conforms with the community’s religious beliefs and set of values, all of which are deemed critical as a basis for children to act properly and acceptably within their community.
