Abstract

This paper aims to describe the role of transformative da'wah in community empowerment. This is library research type by gathering various references related to da’wah. The results of the analysis shows that for the eradication of crime, that is human stupidity of all forms, in the form of kufr, polytheism, demoralization, poverty and dehumanization carried out by the method of preaching, both in the form of oral, written, and deed. Da'wah must not neglect the fulfillment of human needs as the object of da'wah consisting of material or material, spiritual or psychological dimensions, and social or social aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the influence of supervisors' training and PAI Teacher Subject deliberation activities on the ability of PAI Teachers to implement the 2013 Curriculum. This research was a field research type by using quantitative approach and associative methods. Respondents in this study were PAI Junior High School teachers in Padang. The findings of the study show that the guidance of supervisors to PAI teachers has a positive and significant effect on the ability of PAI teachers to implement the 2013 curriculum that is equal to 0.200 or 20.0%. PAI Subject Teachers' Meeting (MGMP) has a positive and significant effect on the ability of PAI teachers to implement the 2013 curriculum of 0.208 or 20.8%. Whereas supervisory guidance for PAI teachers and PAI Teacher Subject Meeting (MGMP) activities simultaneously had an influence on the ability of PAI teachers to implement the 2013 curriculum in SMPs in Padang City by 0.281 or 28.1%. It is concluded that the guidance of school supervisors and the activities of the subject teacher deliberations had a positive influence on the ability of religious teachers to implement the 2013 curriculum. This implies that coaching needs to be empowered intensively.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of Islamic education in Minangkabau. Library studies are used in collecting data and analyzing data qualitatively. The development of Islamic Education Institutions in the archipelago shows the influence of the development of Islamic education in the Middle East, especially Mecca and Cairo, although in detail there are differences in understanding. This influence was brought by natives who were initially to perform the pilgrimage, but then most of them settled there a few years to seek knowledge. Not much different from Minangkabau, at the end of the 17th century, it was influenced by Aceh by Syekh Burhanuddin Ulakan who went to study religious knowledge for several years, and then after returning home, established a mosque in the form of an educational institution with a halakah system. Furthermore, in the 20th century the madrasa was established as a sign of the beginning of the renewal of Islamic education by the best sons of Minangkabau by following the system carried out by previous ulama scholars, so that Islamic Education Institutions in Minangkabau continued to develop into universities. It is concluded that Syeh Burhanuddin has influence in the history of the development of Islamic education in Minangkabau.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the survival of women into a single mother. This was a qualitative research type. Single mothers are respondents in this study. Interview and observation carried out in data collection. The results showed that the task of women becomes more difficult if they become single parents. A woman should have a dual role in her family as a mother and father to her children. Mother is looking for a living for her family and their daily needs. It is concluded that a single mother at the same time must be able to overcome economic, psychological, and social problems in the society environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of external locus of control based on students’ gender towards impulsive buying. The subjects of this study are 80 students in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, aged 17-21 years. The Impulsive Buying and External Scales of Locus of Control were the instruments of this research. Simple linear regression analysis used as the data analysis. The results showed that external locus of control had a significant influence on impulsive buying in students, with F count of 56.702 and p = 0.000 (0 <0.010). This showed a significant influence between impulsive buying of clothing products with external locus of control on students. There is a positive influence between external locus of control on impulsive buying and gender as a moderator variable. The hypothesis proposed in this study is acceptable. It is concluded that between impulsive buying and external locus of control occurs because of causality or influence each other.

Abstract

This article aims to uncover and analyze the achievement of objectives, accuracy of objectives, satisfaction, and success of rural agribusiness development programs in empowering the poor in the Pesisir Selatan, West Sumatera. This is a qualitative descriptive research type. A few poor communities are respondents of this research. Interview, observation and documentation use as data collection techniques. The results showed that the rural agribusiness development program has not been able to help the community as a whole because there are combinations of farmer groups that have been effective and there is a combination of farmer groups that have not been effective. Effective farmer group combinations are evidenced by increasing income, group members, and assets. While the combination of farmer groups that have not been effective is marked by community mentality that is difficult to change bad habit in using money for ineffective purposes. It is concluded that rural agribusiness development programs has not been succeed in empowering Pesisir Selatan community. The implication is poor community should be given more intensive community empowerment by government through more effective strategies.

Abstract

This article aims to describe and analyze the concept of family education according to Hasan Langgulung and its relevance to the development of family mental health. This study uses a character research method using descriptive qualitative approach. Hasan Lagulung’ concept is as data in this research. The results of the study shows that the six aspects of family education namely physical education and health, intellectual education, emotional education, religious education social education aspects can develop children's potential on cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and spiritual. It is concluded that the development of this potential impacts on family mental health. It implies that if the first aspect does not work well, it impacts on other aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the application of the character education program based surau and the Minangkabau culture strengthening program in intracurricular, extracurricular activities; and through school culture. This study used a qualitative approach and interviews, observation and documentation use to collect the data. Some teachers are respondents of the research. The results showed that the implementation of the Minangkabau culture and character education program in intracuricular activities were carried out by the subject teacher by incorporating the values of the Minangkabau nuanced character and culture into each learning. Character values were embedded in learning tools such as prayer and reading the Al- Qur’an before and after learning activities. Whereas the implementation of the character education program and the Minangkabau culture in extracurricular activities was carried out through the integration of the values of the character and the Minangkabau culture in various extra-curricular activities such as muhadarah, An Nisa forum, Ar Rijal forum (studying Islamic sciences with the halaqah method), pesantren , and pray. While strengthening the values of Minangkabau cultural character can be seen in randai activities, traditional speeches, and Minangkabau cuisine. The results also showed that the development of school culture was carried out through strengthening the character of students such as Adiwiyata School, Healthy and Smoke-Free School Program. It is concluded that character education based surau and Minangkabau culture had helped educators more easily to develop students' character. The implication is that educators need to develop teaching materials that can help students improve their character.
