Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematical conceptual understanding of seventh-grade students on the topic of integers and to identify the difficulties experienced by students in solving problems. This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were 23 students of class VII-3 at SMP Negeri 2 Pasir Penyu in the 2025/2026 academic year. The research instruments used were a conceptual understanding ability test and interviews. The results showed that the mathematical conceptual understanding ability of class VII-3 students was still relatively low. This can be seen from the highest number of students being in the low category, consisting of 10 students; 3 students in the very low category; 3 students in the moderate category; 5 students in the high category; and 2 students in the very high category. In general, students were able to understand basic concepts, but they still experienced difficulties in analyzing and applying mathematical concepts. The low ability was presumably caused by a less engaging learning process. Therefore, more innovative learning approaches are needed, such as the demonstration method and PMRI, as well as contextual problems related to daily life so that mathematics learning becomes more meaningful and enjoyable.Keywords: Conceptual Understanding, Learning Difficulties, Junior High School

Abstract

This study investigates the mathematical communication competencies of students engaging in Problem Based Learning (PBL) within a classroom setting. A qualitative descriptive design was employed, with the study conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Lirik. Six participants were selected, representing three proficiency categories: high, intermediate, and low. Data were gathered through classroom observation, written assessments, and structured interviews. Results revealed that high-ability students articulated mathematical reasoning coherently and applied symbolic notation accurately. Intermediate-ability students were capable of completing tasks but provided incomplete justifications, while low-ability students faced considerable challenges in expressing mathematical concepts verbally and in writing. Overall, the PBL environment fostered greater student participation in collaborative discussion and facilitated the development of mathematical communication skills.Keywords: Problem Based Learning, mathematical communication, mathematics education

Abstract

This study examined the influence of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on eighth-grade students' mathematical communication abilities at SMP Negeri 3 Sungai Lala. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design and Posttest-Only Control Design was employed. The participants consisted of two intact classes: class VIII-A served as the experimental group receiving PBL instruction, while class VIII-B functioned as the control group undergoing conventional teaching methods. Mathematical communication skills were assessed through a structured essay test. Statistical analysis revealed that students in the experimental group demonstrated significantly superior mathematical communication competencies compared to their counterparts in the control group. These findings confirm that PBL exerts a positive influence on students' capacity to communicate mathematical ideas.Keywords: Problem Based Learning, mathematical communication skills, mathematics learning

Abstract

This study aims to examine students’ ability to comprehend mathematical concepts in the topic of Linear Equations in One Variable (LEOV) at SMP Negeri 3 Sungai Lala. The analysis was carried out on five test items designed to assess students’ conceptual understanding across multiple indicators. Findings revealed that a considerable number of students encounter difficulty in connecting mathematical ideas with appropriate representations and procedures. More specifically, on the first item, a portion of students struggled to restate the LEOV concept in their own words. On the second item, most students tended to skip procedural steps and present only final answers. On the third item, many were unable to follow the given instructions, jumping directly to results without constructing a mathematical model first. On the fourth item, students showed limited ability to distinguish between examples and non-examples of the concept. On the fifth item, students were not able to apply the concept accurately within a problem-solving context, as they lacked a clear strategy for identifying known and unknown elements. Overall, these findings indicate that students’ mathematical conceptual understanding remains at a low level and requires systematic improvement through more structured and concept-oriented instructional approaches.Keywords: mathematical conceptual understanding; linear equation in one variable; mathematical representation; qualitative descriptive; junior high school

Abstract

Penguatan kemampuan bahasa asing pada era globalisasi memegang peranan penting. Karena upaya penguatan kemampuan ini bertujuan untuk mempersiapkan kompetensi komunikasi publik yang harus dikuasai. Penguatan kemampuan bahasa asing sebagai kompetensi komunikasi publik telah diterapkan pada kegiatan belajar dan pembelajaran di lemabaga pendidikan formal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peranan yang signifikan dalam penerapan Role-play dalam peningkatan kemampuan bahasa inggris dasar yang dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran Bahasa inggris di sekolah dasar maupun sekolah menengah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kajian pustaka. Temuan penelitian mengindikasikan bahwasannya penerapan teknik Role Play (Bermain Peran) dalam pembalajaran Bahasa Inggris dasar berkontribusi siknifikan terdapat penguasaan pengetahuan dasar berbahasa inggris. Kontribusi mendasar dalam penerapan teknik Role Play dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris tersebut terdapat pada pengguasaan aspek linguistik dasar seperti aspek Ponetik (mengeja), sintak (struktur dan Gramtikal), semantik (makna kata) dan aspek pragmatik (makna kosa kata secara situasional, konteks, dan maksud dari pembicara) secara mendasar.

Abstract

Infrastruktur jaringan komputer yang andal sangat krusial bagi kelancaran operasional administratif dan efektivitas proses belajar mengajar di lingkungan perguruan tinggi. Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis (ITB) Tuban Kampus 1 memiliki tata letak gedung fungsional yang terpisah, meliputi Ruang Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru, Kantor Yayasan, Biro Administrasi Akademik dan Kemahasiswaan, Gedung Rektorat, dan belasan ruang kelas, dengan total beban operasional mencapai 104 unit Personal Computer. Implementasi jaringan fisik tanpa perencanaan arsitektur komprehensif rentan memicu permasalahan penumpukan lalu lintas data, tabrakan data, dan koneksi internet yang terputus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang arsitektur topologi jaringan logikal yang efisien, menyusun hierarki pengalamatan Internet Protocol, memvalidasi konektivitas antargedung, dan mengimplementasikan purwarupa manajemen jaringan berbasis Mikrotik RouterOS. Metode penelitian yang digunakan mengadopsi tahapan Network Development Life Cycle yang mencakup analisis kebutuhan, perumusan desain topologi model Tree, penyusunan konfigurasi pada laboratorium virtual Cisco Packet Tracer, dan pengujian logikal. Hasil simulasi pemodelan jaringan menunjukkan keberhasilan uji konektivitas melalui eksekusi perintah Ping dan pengiriman Simple Protocol Data Unit antargedung tanpa adanya satu pun paket data yang hilang. Implementasi sistem operasi Mikrotik terbukti berhasil menjalankan fungsionalitas Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol Client, routing Network Address Translation masquerade, pembatasan kecepatan akses jaringan secara adil melalui fitur Simple Queue, serta sistem pemblokiran situs terlarang menggunakan Firewall Filter Rules. Rancangan topologi sentralistik ini terbukti efisien dalam mencegah konflik pertukaran informasi, sehingga sangat layak dijadikan cetak biru acuan implementasi infrastruktur perangkat keras fisik ITB Tuban Kampus 1 di masa mendatang.Kata Kunci: cisco packet tracer; manajemen bandwidth; mikrotik; network development life cycle; topologi jaringan

Abstract

The main problem in this thesis is the transfer of inheritance in Koto Balingka District, West Pasaman Regency, from the perspective of Islamic law. The purpose of this discussion is to find out how the process of transferring inheritance and what the causes and views of Islamic law are on the implementation of the transfer of inheritance in Koto Balingka District, West Pasaman Regency, from the perspective of Islamic law. Balingka, West Pasaman Regency, is more concerned with what parents ordered and also because it helps the family economy and assumes that the rights and obligations of boys and girls are the same. When viewed from the perspective of Islamic law, it is not in accordance with what is in Faroid Science. The solution to solving the problems that occur in the transfer of inheritance in Koto Balingka District, West Pasaman Regency, is that the community should learn more about problems in the distribution of inheritance in order to be able to carry out the distribution of inheritance left by the heirs. And also the scholars in the area should monitor and always provide enlightenment to the community in completing the transfer of inheritance in accordance with the prevailing Faroid science.Keywords: Harta, Warisan, Hukum,Islam.
