Abstract

Honey is a highly nutritious food product and consumed by almost all the population in the world. It has a function as an antimicrobial. Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is a common Gram-positive bacteria in food and Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a Gram-negative bacteria that often appears in environmental sanitation issues that both can cause infectious diseases. Some infectious diseases can be treated with antimicrobials such as honey. The purpose of this study was to test the antimicrobial effects on honey products distributed in Pasar Minggu area. The antimicrobial effect test was performed in vitro using agar diffusion method by measuring the inhibition zone formed where the bacteria growth was inhibited by the presence of sample. The concentration of samples were 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% (not diluted) and as aquades control. The results showed that honey tested with various dilution concentrations resulted inhibition zone and. The higher concentration of the inhibited zone zone showed antimicrobial activity against S. aureus and E. coli.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and evaluate the examination procedures, scanning techniques and thoracic ultrasound results with indications of pleural effusion minimally. This study was used 3 patients at Lung Hospital of dr. H. A. Rotinsulu Bandung. The 3 samples were tested using MEDISON (Accuvix V20) ultrasound type V20 Prestige. The examination technique uses a convex transducer with a frequency of 3.5 MHz To obtain the results of the image of pleural effusion minimally was performed with longitudinal and transverse section on intercostals scanning. The patient's position was sat with legs crossed on the examination table with the arm on the side of the examined section was placed overhead so that the intercostals space can be opened more widely. Abstract

This study discusses the fitness level of male students based on smoking habits , nutrient intake , physical activity and nutritional status as measured by cardiorespiratory endurance using YMCA-3 minutes step test. The design is descriptive analytic with cross-sectional study. The data were collected from 67 male students at SMAN 108 Jakarta. Study results showed that 58,2 % student is not fit, 41,8 % student is light smoker, 89,6 % deficiency energy intake, 80,6 % deficiency protein intake, 71,6 % deficiency vitamin B1, 56,7 % deficiency vitamin C, 52,2 % deficiency Fe intake, 73,1 % having weight physical activity and 28,4% malnutrition status. Chi-Square Test shows that fitness level of students depends on smoking habits (p=0,039), energy intake (p=0,001), vitamin B1 intake (p=0,012), and Fe intake (p=0,039). In order to increase the fitness status , it is advisable for students to organize a healthy lifestyle by quitting smoking , exercising regularly and increasing daily nutrient intake

The purpose of making the film holder design is to provide a sense of patients comfort and safety from radiation hazards and also to make an alternative tool for dental holders. This study is to make product design, it was conducted of 20 samples at the District Hospital Jakarta and Depok Hospitals using a simple random sample during of July to August 2016. Statistical analysis was performed by a questionnaire with Likert scale. To test the difference between artificial tools and standard film holder Kerrhawe was conducted using test t. The result was obtained there no significant differences between both of them t test > t table, df= 19 and P> 0.05. The test results of benefits using artificial dental holder of bitewing there is no problem and can be accepted by the user

Abstract

In Indonesia, 93.5% of the population aged ≥10 years still consume less fruits and vegetables 5 servings per day for 7 days a week (RISKESDAS, 2013). The preliminary study conducted at SDN Mekarjaya I shows that the level of knowledge of school children about vegetables and fruits by 60% is still low and 93.3% of vegetable and fruit consumption is still lacking. In addition, SDN Mekarjaya I has never been used as a place of prior research. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on the knowledge of fruit vegetables in the fourth grade students of SDN Mekarjaya I. One of them is by doing counseling with the media of puzzle game. This research was conducted to know the increase of knowledge about vegetables and fruits before and after given counseling with puzzle game media in fourth grade students of SDN Mekarjaya I. This research was conducted by Pre-exsperiment method using "One group pretest and posttest" research design. Sampling by purposive sampling is 66 people. The statistical test used is paired sample t-test. Based on the results of the analysis shows that there is a significant difference of knowledge where p-value 0.000 or p <0,05 means there is a meaningful difference between before and after given counseling with puzzle game media. This puzzle game media can be developed by the teachers as a medium of learning in the classroom so that students are more motivated in following the learning process and make students do not feel bored

Abstract

Patients with loss of nasal anatomy effect surgical defects after total rhinectomy, often feel shame and less 0f confident to socialize with the people around. The defect due to loss of the nose can be repaired by nasal prosthesis. This nasal protesa is generally made by using flexible materials such as silicone. Silicone type room temperature vilcanitation (RTV) material is a silicone material often used because it is easy to manufacture, has good physical properties that is more adaptable to the skin and can be used in the long term. The purpose: to determine the stages and problem solving of the difficulties that arise in the procedure of fabricating definitive nasal prosthesis with RTV silicone material. The method is based on working model done in dental laboratory, starting from the preparation of work model, night pattern making, duplicate work model, flasking, boiling out, silicone application, curing, deflasking, finishing prosthesis. The results obtained by the prosthesis with the basic color and still require further staining, the natural anatomical form and in accordance with the working model although there is little porous in some places. Conclusion: the fabrication of nasal prostheses with RTV silicone material can be done with good results with anatomical form and texture that are almost identical to the original nose, but there is a shortage of the prosthesis can not be repaired in case of fault during the fabricating process

This research aims to find the formulation of effervescent tablet of temulawak extract (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb.) with the variation of stevia sweetener that meets the requirements of physical tablet test. The effervescent tablet formula was made in three formulas with the difference in the stevia content. Tests conducted include visual tests, uniformity test, hardness test, friability test, pH test and solubility test. Based on the test results on the physical properties of tablets, it is known that all the formula meets the physical test of tablets and the preferred formula is formula 3 with 4% of stevia.

Abstract

This research has conducted about exposure factor variation analysis examination of the thorax surface dose and image noise in radiography. Do 10 (ten) times the exposure in the thorax phantom with various exposure factor such as 50 kV- 8 mAs, 50 kV-10 mAs, 55 kV- 8 mAs, 55 kV-10 mAs, 55 kV-10 mAs, 60 kV- 8 mAs, 60 kV-10 mAs, 66 kV-8 mAs, 66 kV-10 mAs, and 102 kV- 1 mAs, 102 kV - 2,5 mAs for high kV technique. For each exposure factor the pinned , TLD placed in the middle of the field to measure the radiation dose level. The optimum exposure conditions of the thorax PA examination (expressed with IgM value) occurs when using exposure factor 55 kV and 8 mAs for IgM values obtained are 1.91, 6.605 for standard deviation values and ESD 0.098 mGy.
